Buzzing Blues: the Waterproof Turbo Glider Blueberry Bliss

At less than $20, the Blueberry Bliss offers a lot of bang for your buck. Although it is loud, the shape and vibrations make it a fun toy for beginners and advanced users alike.

Use

One of the perks of this toy is that the bumps add stimulation both internally and externally. For clitoral use, just lubing it up and sliding the ridges up and down can be nice, and when you add the vibration, you get a few different sensations at once. The different shaped bumps give you a few options for how much direct pressure to apply.

The bumpy shape is fun when you use this internally and helps make up for the smaller girth. The shape makes it worthwhile to use internally even without the vibrations. Since the Blueberry Bliss is made out of rigid plastic, you might not want to get too carried away thrusting. You could easily use a bullet vibrator on your clit while using this one internally, if you are coordinated enough!

I'm not a fan of anal stimulation so I can't speak from personal experience, but the smallest bulb at the tip of this toy could be a nice gentle introduction to anal play. It isn't advisable to insert the whole toy since the base isn't flared.

The intensity of the vibrations is one of the major selling points for this toy. I like a lot of vibration, so while I would be happy if the dial went up a bit farther, you'll find a lot more intensity with this little blue beauty than with a lot of comparably priced toys.

Material / Texture

The Blueberry Bliss vibrator is made of rigid, smooth, aqua blue plastic and is phthalate and latex free. Although the shape of this vibrator is bumpy, the plastic material it is made of is totally glossy smooth.

I gave it a good sniff right out of the box and didn't notice any odor- yay! As much as I love you all, I didn't brave tasting it. The hard plastic material means that this isn't going to bend or give at all. It is also not as quick to pick up your body heat as toys made from some other materials which could be a pro or a con, depending upon your temperature preferences.

Design / Shape / Size

The Blueberry Bliss is 6 and a quarter inches long, of which 5 and a quarter inches are insertable. It has a circumference of 3", although the curvy shape means it is narrower at some points. Although I prefer longer and wider, the size is still enough to give the satisfying "something inside you" feeling.

The Blueberry Bliss would be great for those new to using sex toys. It is a bit smaller in both length
and girth than my other toys, so it would be great for a beginner who wants something other than a
traditional straight-shaped vibrator. It has a totally unintimidating shape, size and color without being boring. Plus, the price is not a huge investment if you are still learning what you like.

The size and shape of this vibrator make it fairly discreet to travel with as long as you take the batteries out. It is lightweight, and although most people would know what it is fairly easily by the appearance, the non-realistic shape doesn't immediately scream "PENIS!" like a lot of toys do.

It takes two AA batteries (not included), which are easy to insert - you just unscrew the cap at the base and pop them in, both facing the same direction (I have one toy that offers no guidance on which way the batteries are supposed to face, which I always find confusing!).

Functions / Performance / Controls

To adjust the speed, you spin the dial at the base. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it jumps from being off to a relatively high vibration at the "low" setting. I had a few problems with the dial hitting my hand or the blanket and changing speed on accident. I noticed that if I applied much pressure while it was running at top speed, it tended to quit vibrating momentarily. Not fun!

I think the biggest negative for this toy is that it is LOUD. Even at the lowest setting, I could hear it through my comforter quite clearly. The highest setting could probably be heard easily from the next room. I guess that with the combination of a rigid plastic body and a powerful motor, noise is to be expected, but I still wish this were quieter. I have not yet tried it out in water, but I would guess that the sound of the shower would muffle a lot of the vibration noise.

Care and Maintenance

The combination of being waterproof and the smooth plastic surface makes for easy clean-up, either with soap and warm water or a toy cleaner. Just be sure not to overlook the ridges between the bulbs when you clean. Although the curves are fairly smooth and easier to clean than the crevices on many shaped toys, it would still be easy to miss getting them totally clean. I would recommend removing the batteries in between uses to extend their life.

Packaging

The packaging is kind of a weak spot for me. You can see the toy through the clear plastic front against a backdrop of bright pink. I think it would look a lot classier without the lingerie-clad chick on the front. The plastic packaging is easy to snap open and closed, making it okay to store the toy in, but it also left me thinking that if this was in a regular store, it would be easy to snap the package open and touch the device and then reseal it with no visible mark. Either way, it is always a good idea to give any new toy a nice thorough cleaning when you first receive it! (Hooray for being waterproof!)

I have to admit I cracked up at the sticker near the battery area of the vibrator that reads "Warning: This device is not to be used near swollen or inflamed areas." I get what they are trying to say, but still find the word choice hilarious.

Experience

The first time I tried this vibrator out, I got frustrated after a few minutes of not really getting
much from it (That feeling of ALMOST hitting the right spot, but not quite) and ended up tossing it aside in favor of my trusty Rabbit. With any new toy, there tends to be a bit of a learning curve, though, so in the sake of review research, I decided to put it through its paces again. (It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!)

I actually like using this for thrusting quite a bit. The bumpy shape offers an especially nice sensation that you just don't get from straight, smooth shapes. Internal vibrations have never done much for me, so I can't join the others who rave about the orgasms they've gotten from using this internally alone.

Externally, the ridges and high powered vibrations are a lot of fun, but I still prefer my much-loved Rabbit. I'm not sure if it's a matter of just getting used to something new or truly preferring the other form of stimulation.

Although this isn't my favorite toy, it is still a welcome addition to my collection and will be nice to use for a change of pace.
Follow-up commentary
If I were writing the review today, I would probably bump this up to four stars. After a little more time getting to know this toy and learning how to best make it work with my body, I've become a much bigger fan. I do wish it was quieter, a little thicker, and maybe even a little bit bendy. If there was a clit stimulating attachment (like a rabbit-style vibe), the combination of that with the shape of this would be near perfection.

Still not my favorite toy, but it has certainly climbed the ranks over the past few weeks.

Very good first review! I would only suggest adding lube compatibility to make it perfect.

Too bad it is so loud. It's a little on the small side for me, but I DO so love the bulges. MMMM.

Certainly seems like a nice vibrator or even dildo (if you don't want to turn it on, which is what our loud vibrators turn into!) for solo or partner play.

Thank you guys for the comments! It's hard to get used to looking at a vibrator from a review perspective instead of just "O hai thar!"
