First of all, this is not a sex toy: it is a "pleasure object". Which if you're like me, makes all of the difference. I had almost given up on toys because they never seemed to fit me right. The material of the Nea is body safe ABS plastic. It is also seamless which is a great feature as it will not harbor bacteria. There is a softer material surrounding the buttons that I assume (but am not totally sure) is to protect the internal controls from moisture from lubricants and body fluids.

The design of the Nea is a major part of its appeal. The best thing to compare it to is a small wireless mouse. If someone happened to look into your purse and saw it, that is what they would think it is. The Nea is very discreet. You could leave it out accidentally with no shame. The Nea is perfectly contoured to fit in the palm of your hand so the tip rests on your clit. I can hold it to myself during sex and it will not get in the way. However, I do have to hold it there. Because of the smooth texture of the plastic, I do not find that I needed lubrication. Of course, everyone has different bodies and preferences.

Functions for the Nea are 5 vibration modes, all controlled by two buttons on the vibe itself. These modes are in the user manual and very easy to understand. You just may need some practice to get into a rhythm of using them (which is half the fun!). The Nea is rechargeable, so no more buying pesky batteries! The need to charge is indicated by a red back light on the button interface. Charging takes two hours (follow instructions to never charge more than 24 hours) and the charge will last up to 4 hours, depending on which modes you use it in and how long. The battery does last forever though in standby mode (months), but LELO does recommend charging your Nea once a month. The Nea can be locked by holding down both buttons until the light goes out (5 seconds) and unlocked the same way. If you store it like this in your drawer or purse, there is no way it can turn on and drain your battery. It's a wonderful feature.

As I said before, I enjoy the performance of the Nea. Although it takes me forever to get off, I do not like lots of hard vibrations on my clit, so the adjustability of the Nea is ideal for everyone. The lowest setting is a deep hum and the highest is still deep, but more intense and comparable to a normal bullet in feel. There are 4 patterns aside from continuous vibration: extended interval pulsation, intermediate interval pulsation, short interval pulsation and before and after (graduation and reduction; drives me insane in the best way possible). not only that, but you can adjust the intesity of the vibrations as well. However, I still say the motor in this vibe is very strong for a clit vibe. The charge is comparable to the specifications set in the owner's user manual and charge time is also accurate. I have found that my Nea lasts a very long time in standby, longer than the specified 90 days.

Taking care of your Nea is easy. There is no seam in the plastic which means nasty bacteria can't get caught in there. Just be careful of the buttons. Although there is a softer material surrounding the buttons to protect them, lube and fluids can get on there and be hard to clean/ damage the interface.

I also have to add a caution here:
Although it is fun to use Nea almost anywhere on your body, this toy is NOT for insertion. It is very smooth and if you are playing around the entrance of the vagina (or anus), it is possible for this toy to be "sucked" in, especially if it is slippery with lube or fluids. Yes, this did happen to me when my partner was using it. We were able to avoid a trip to the emergency room, but the ordeal of trying to get the thing out caused me a lot of pain and made my partner feel horrible for hurting me. It happened so fast, he simply lost his grip and it was inside me. All of this can be avoided with a little care on the part of the user; this really is not a scary toy to use. The toy way also not damaged by the ordeal, which I think I may have been more worried about than myself at first.

I clean my toy with an antibacterial spray and to clean the buttons, just spray some cleaner on a cotton swab and gently clean around the buttons and store in your choice of the satin pouch or the box.

This toy is NOT waterproof which is honestly the only con I have with the toy. Do not boil to sterilize or submerge to clean. Do not take it in the shower with you either.

I must mention that the flower motif seems to be durable as well, it has not come off through use or washings so far. There are no signs of wear on this product either.

LELO packaging is as beautiful as the Nea. The sleeve is white cardboard with a picture of the Nea on the back. However, it is very hard to find out simply by looking at the box what is inside which I find a plus. Inside the sleeve is a hard, black cardboard box with a plastic insert that cradles the Nea. Underneath the plastic is the charger, warranty, 10 year guarantee and user manual and pouch. I personally have no problem fitting everything back inside, putting the cover on the box and inserting it all back into the sleeve.

I find it very helpful to people I recommend LELO product to, to inform them of how the warranty and quality guarantee works. Your product is warranted against manufacture defects for one year from purchase date. You need to register your product in order to claim the warranty or guarantee. To register, go to the LELO website and create a free account. They have never sent me annoying emails or spam for the record. Click 'register product' on the menu and follow the steps to register. Anything with a charger or electronics can be registered. Before you claim your warranty, I would suggest contacting LELO customer support to make sure that claiming the warranty is the best thing to do. They are very nice and helpful in my experience. Once your warranty expires (after 1 year from purchase date), the 10-year quality guarantee kicks in automatically. What this means is, if your product kicks the bucket before ten years is up due to manufacture's defect, you can receive one 50% coupon for an item in LELO's Femme and Homme line. All of this is outlined on their website and in the booklet that comes with your product.

In order to claim your warranty or guarantee, you will need to ship your product back to them (they will detail how) and provide proof of purchase. This means you cannot fudge the date of purchase when you register the product. If you do, likely you will not be able to claim the warranty or guarantee. ALWAYS save your receipt! I keep mine in the boxes my products come in.

The Nea is classically beautiful without being vulgar. It will appeal to almost anyone. It is durable and the charge is long lasting. It's great for partner play and minimal anal exploration.
