Classic vibe with a twist
This is a great vibrator for the price and it will do everything you ask of it, alone or with a partner. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.Published: September 13, 2011
Pros:
Waterproof, effective vibrations, AA batteries, long battery life, silky material
Cons:
Very rigid, fairly loud, may not be thick enough for more experienced users
This toy has a sentimental meaning for me: it is the first vibrator I ever bought, in my freshman year of college three years ago. Other reviews seem to indicate that the velvet touch vibe didn't last long for them, but mine is still going strong. If it died for some people it is probably more user error than product defect. Just make sure you don't use high power brand name batteries that can burn out the motor, and always take them out when you go more than a few days without using it and you shouldn't have any trouble. This is an all around excellent toy, especially for a beginner. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but it does the trick. The price is right, the vibrations are strong, and it is slim enough for those just starting to experiment but thick enough to be satisfying.
The material is unlike anything I had experienced before; a unique type of plastic that really does feel like velvet. It is silky and glides very nicely. The dial base is better than a button in my opinion because you don't have to cycle through 8 different settings to turn it off. Another pro is that it doesn't take some crazy expensive watch battery like some of the more pricey toys available. It's also fine for a living situation like a dorm room. I wouldn't use it with someone else in the room but you can take it in the shower or use it behind closed doors without a problem. One major con is that the rigidity of the material can be difficult when you use it solo. There is zero give, so it can be difficult to get into a position where you can find a good rhythm without it hurting or having your arm at an awkward angle.
I also discovered the velvet touch is great for couples play. The material is solid, which lets you get good pressure, and the vibrations are strong enough that you can hand it over to your guy for some hands free attention and he couldn't really mess it up; as long as he is somewhere in the area, it will feel good. Alternatively, I found it to be slim enough to use anally to spice up sex, although people who haven't experimented with anal might find it on the big side. I feel safe enough about this vibrator's material to use it both vaginally and anally as long as I clean it thoroughly in between, which is not difficult. Overall, this vibe has served me very faithfully for several years and will probably continue to be one of my favorites, even over all the more expensive flashier ones available.

Getting rid of stains on my Velvet Touch vibe?
-
LinLinHi, I accidentally used my Velvet touch vibrator during my period (like I started going and I didn't notice that I was already spotting). Since then it has some mild yellowing (I got it in lavander) and I don't know how to get rid of the stains! It does not seem to have an odor or anything, but does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of the stains? I love this toy and its my first and only one I own, but I'm so annoyed with the staining!
Any help would be appreciated! -
You could try cleaning it with a bleach solution, but honestly it might just be stained. I'd say that if it doesn't smell and you've cleaned it real well, that might just be it. It won't affect the usability at all though, which is good. :)

Yep, I was going to suggest the same. Best wishes!

cherrypopedI've heard this one is no good. it stops working fast. Should i buy it? -
Quote: I've heard this one is no good. it stops working fast. Should i buy it?Cherry, In what ways does it stop working fast? Do you mean that the battery dies quickly? Or that the machine itself is faulty? I've had this toy for over four years, only had to change the battery once, and it has remained clean, odorless, retained its color, vibrations are as strong as when I first purchased/used it, and it never malfunctioned on it. Although it's a very inexpensive toy, it has outlasted all others in pleasure and in worth! Go for it!

I had mine for at least a year before it stopped working. When it stopped working, there was rust under the twisting part of the cap, so I likely caused it to stop working by not being careful when washing it. This was a FABULOUS toy when I had it, and I would buy another if I needed another basic vibe. For $13, you can't really go wrong. Don't abuse it (drop it, get the cap or insides wet) and it should last quite a while.
