Use

The Handy Climax is made by the Asian manufacturer NMC Ltd. This traditional-style vibrator is small and, as its name would have it, handy. It is likely best suited to beginner toy users or those who prefer slimmer toys.

What makes this one special is the subtle, yet effective, texture it possesses. The angled tip will reach up and gently cradle shallow g-spots. All the while, the bulges in the shaft create added stimulation for an all-around good time. The Handy Climax Bulged also works on any and all external erogenous zones, such as the nipples, clitoris, perineum, testicles, and even along the shaft of the penis. It is rather short in length and does not have a flared base. As such, it should not be used anally. It can, however, stimulate the area around the anus.

Handy is conveniently sized for couple use. It fits perfectly between bodies, and its plush texture makes it all the more comfortable to use. Whether it is used for external or internal stimulation, solo, or with a partner, its versatility is perfect for traveling with.

The water-resistant design also means the fun is not limited to dry land. Though it should not be submerged, it can be safely taken in the shower to spice up any old morning.

Material / Texture

The toy is made of silicone and ABS plastic. These are both body safe, non-porous materials, rated 10 and 8 respectively on the Eden safety scale. These materials are latex and phthalate free. The insertable portion of the vibrator consists of plastic covered in a relatively thick layer of silicone. This adds some softness, while the plastic body underneath provides firmness. The silicone has a kind of rubbery feel, and thus lots of drag.

A barely visible seam is present, yet it can not be felt as it is flush against the shaft. The bulges and angled tip will certainly enhance the rendezvous. Though subtle and perfect for the texture beginner, the texture is just enough to be noticed and appreciated.

A silver plastic band is located just above the plastic battery cap. The plastic is velvety smooth. Though the silicone shaft will grab onto dust and lint, this plastic portion will not.

Initially, the toy smelled of strong plastic. It took several thorough washes before the smell began to fade.

Design / Shape / Size

Handy is roughly 5 1/4" in total length, of which 4" are insertable. The angled tip is best suited to shallow and easily accessible g-spots. The bulbous, yet pinpoint, tip is 5/8" wide. It delivers perfected pinpoint accuracy for clitoral stimulation. The angle works great for stimulating around the clitoris, pulling up on it from below and really getting into the most sensitive spots. The tip flexes, but not so much as to inhibit one's ability to apply pressure. The tip is more readily flexed in toward the angle, and not so much against the angle. See the photos below demonstrating this.

Below this bulbous tip, the neck narrows to 3/4". The first bulge in the shaft begins 1 1/2" from the tip. This bulge is roughly 1" wide, while the second bulge below it has a diameter of 1 1/8". The increase in diameter of the bulges is minimal and barely noticeable in use. The rest of the shaft and handle are 5/8" wide throughout. This is a very slim toy for vaginal use, and will be appreciated by women who are preferentially driven to such small sizes.

Maybe boring to some, the many design features allow it to be useful for many types of people. A woman with a shallow g-spot, who prefers slimmer toys and understated texture, may find her new best friend in the Handy Climax Bulged. To others, the uses may prove to be more limited depending on their personal tastes.

The control button is a translucent purple gem-like shape, located at the bottom of the toy. This location, paired with a rather short handle, can make things difficult when using the toy vaginally. The button is easily pushed, and it is somewhat laborious to return to the function that was being used.

Although Handy is evidently a sex toy, the size makes it much more discreet. It is very easily stashed away from unwelcome eyes. A perfect travel buddy, Handy has the makings for a versatile and beloved extra passenger.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Handy Bulged is controlled by a single push button at the base of the battery cap. Push this button to cycle through the 10 settings. It is required to push and hold the button for a few seconds to turn off. The first 3 settings are constant steady vibration speeds, and the next 7 are patterned vibrations. After the last pattern has been reached, the next push of the button will bring it back to the first steady vibration speed.

The 10 settings, in order, are as follows:
1. High steady vibrations
2. Medium steady vibrations
3. Low steady vibrations
4. Slow throbs followed by quick pulses
5. Medium level quick short pulses
6. High level quick long pulses
7. High level quick short pulses
8. Medium level throbbing pulses
9. High level slow long pulses
10. Low level quick short pulses

An LED lights up at the control button and shines through the battery cap. It pulses along with the pattern which is selected, and shines steadily with the constant vibration settings.

It can be frustrating to begin on the low speed and work up to the high speed, since all 10 settings must be cycled through first. However, the vibrations are not all that strong and may work just fine for some to simply use the high speed. The lower speeds are great for teasing, and while even the high speed won't be enough for power-queens, the toy is still great for a tickle. These vibrations are quite buzzy so those who enjoy these types of vibrations will benefit most from Handy.

Located mainly in the tip, the vibrations are still felt throughout the toy. The high speed may cause numbing of the fingers, whereas the low speed vibrations are barely felt in the handle. The vibrations are not particularly strong. They are not the weakest out there, but they will most likely provide teasing rather than any intense stimulation. Power queens can look unto Handy as nothing more than a teaser. When the tip is flexed, the vibrations do not diminish. However, with the vibrations being surface level and highly buzzy, when pressure is applied the vibrations are absorbed and significantly weaken.

A positive side to weaker vibrations is a low noise level. Handy is hard pressed to be heard from under the covers and certainly won't be heard through a closed door.

The vibrator has an odd sort of memory, where it will begin on the setting that follows the one it was at when previously turned off. For example, if setting 2 is being used and then the toy is turned off, it will be on setting 3 when turned on next time. This is provided that the batteries were not removed in between. In that case, the toy will always begin on the first setting.

Handy requires one AA battery to operate, and doesn't seem to be going through batteries very quickly. To insert it, give the battery cap a little twist, lift it off and place the battery in its compartment, "+" end down. To replace the cap, there are two differently sized nubs and grooves that must line up. Once they're aligned, push the cap down and twist.

There is an O-ring that should provide some waterproofing. The box claims this toy is waterproof so long as it is not submerged. NMC seems to have a rather loose definition of waterproof. However, I have treated it as a waterproof toy, having even submerged it in a bowl of water, and it has held up fine. Do so at your own risk, though.

Care and Maintenance

Thankfully, the textures on the Handy Bulged are not so deep that they require any extra effort in cleaning. Since the toy is water-resistant at the very least, it can be easily washed with warm water and a mild antibacterial soap. Specialized toy cleaners or toy wipes will be get job done as well. A 10 percent bleach solution can be used for sanitizing. Be sure to sanitize the vibrator between users and, if it dares enter the backdoor, before using it vaginally again.

Only water-based lubricants are compatible with the silicone that coats the shaft. Other lubricants, such as oil or silicone-based, risk deteriorating the material.

Removing the battery for travel will keep it from accidentally turning on. Be sure to also remove the battery before cleaning and when storing to preserve its lifespan. Make sure the toy is dry before opening the battery compartment, and always ensure that the cap is properly closed before getting Handy wet.

Handy can be stored in its original packaging. A pouch or plastic baggie would do just fine as well. Keep it in a drawer or toy box, or wherever is convenient to store it. Be sure it does not come in direct contact with other silicone toys, however. Silicone toys can interact with one another and degrade.

Packaging

Not so discreet for gifting, the toy is clearly exposed through a flimsy plastic box. Inside this box, Handy sits in a fitted black plastic tray around which a cardboard insert is folded. This insert is black with grey bubbles all over it. Although it is not very luxurious packaging, there are no graphic images to deter anyone from its aesthetics. The front of the insert has the name of the toy and manufacturer on it, along with its size and the gist of what the toy is and does. The left side depicts the 10 vibration functions. The other side simply states the type of batteries required and a small image displays the LED light function. The back of this insert contains some confounding information about the toy. The print is minuscule, and paragraphs of various languages are all mixed up together.

A small paper is folded up beneath the tray. It indicates how to install the batteries and some classic warnings and precautions for battery maintenance.

The instructions included are sufficient, though somewhat misleading. A beginner would be confused by them, and even a more advanced toy user could be as well.

Personal comments

The box states this toy is not meant for insertion, though it is sold as a traditional vibrator with texture and an angled tip whose purpose would be to stimulate the g-spot. There is also a claim made about the material used being 100%, and methods to test for instances where it is not, in fact, silicone, but rubber polymers, including odour and placing the "(waterproof vibrator)" in the dishwasher. While these are valid methods for testing true silicone, the box states that because this is a waterproof vibrator, it is safe to put in the dishwasher. This is not true, and a vibrator should never be boiled or cleaned in the dishwasher. The heat will damage the mechanical components.

The box also confuses as to whether or not the toy is truly waterproof. It mentions that it is, but not to use it in the bath or pool.

Experience

Although the features of this toy are highly suited to my needs, the buzzy vibrations do nothing for me. I do enjoy the texture, but I had a hard time getting at my g-spot, even though mine is rather shallow and easily attainable.

The fact that the order of the vibration settings is somewhat illogical does not bother me so much. The patterns are not some that I enjoy, and I mostly use Handy on its highest steady speed. I am quite sensitive and, for the most part, use my toys on their lower speeds. Even on the highest speed, I had a hard time reaching orgasm.

Handy surely won't be a new favorite of mine, but I would not hesitate to recommend it to a beginner. I would also recommend that said beginner simply toss the packaging in the trash without reading the back. The deluded and misrepresented information on the packaging is nothing but confusing and disgruntling.
