Curling Iron?

When my wife saw the Verve in its package, her first comment was that it looked like a curling iron. She may have been right because the first time she used it, I did detect that her toes curled! It immediately moved to the top of her favorite-vibe list.

Use

The Verve is a two-piece rabbit-style vibrator that can be used for external as well as internal stimulation at the same time. As it is constructed of a separate shaft and rabbit clitoral stimulator, it works well for internal stimulation only or external stimulation only if you choose. The removable rabbit can also be used as a vibrating cock ring (more on that later).

Material / Texture

The Verve is made with latex-free, phthalates-free elastomer. It has a soft, natural feel to it. The shaft of this vibe is covered by small tickler protrusions, which at first glance look like they would be somewhat uncomfortable. This assumption was incorrect as my wife said she loved the feel of these when inserting the vibrator. She also stated that she did not feel them once it was inserted. She also liked the feeling of the texture when using it for external stimulation, but she did have a slight problem applying the correct amount of pressure against her. If applied lightly when used externally, she thought it tickled a bit too much.

The rabbit itself has no texture other than the nice soft ears, which vibrated nicely against her clit.

There was no detectable odor with this vibrator.

Design / Shape / Size

The Verve is unusual in that the rabbit portion can easily be removed from the vibrator. Both the shaft and rabbit have separate batteries and controls, so the rabbit portion can be also used as a cock ring. It is quite comfortable when placed on the cock, but does not stay in place very well. We found that unless I remained fully inserted and rested the rabbit against her clit, it was useless as a cock ring. When thrusting, it flopped around and was uncomfortable and distracting as it poked my wife.

My wife seldom likes just internal stimulation, but she rather enjoyed what she felt when using just the vibrating, rotating shaft. It seemed to be just the right width, length, vibrations, and rotation.

The total length of the vibrator is just over 9" with an insertable length of 6 1/2". It has a diameter of 1 5/8", giving it a circumference of 5". Because of its size, Mrs. C. thought it would work equally well for both beginners and advanced users.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As stated earlier, the rabbit can be removed and used separately. The shaft itself has the vibrator located in the head with controls located at the base. It has four control buttons: one turns the rotation on, one controls direction of rotation, one turns on vibration, and the last one controls the level of vibrations. It has only two speeds, and there did not seem to be much difference as far as my wife could tell.

The rabbit portion has a bullet-style vibrator in its base, which can be easily removed. We did not care for the control on the rabbit portion. To turn it on required turning the base about 1/4 turn, which at times seemed difficult once it had been inserted in the rabbit.

The shaft portion of the vibrator uses three AA batteries. The rabbit-portion battery is a complete mystery to us. The writing on it is all Chinese, so I guess a trip to Radio Shack with battery in hand will be required when it comes to replacement time.

My wife's first use of the Verve was in our jetted tube, and it worked very well when submersed in water. She did not have the rabbit portion attached as we are somewhat concerned that the vibe on that portion might not be waterproof.

Care and Maintenance

Since this vibe is made from an elastomer, it cannot be disinfected with boiling water. We have found that it cleans quite easily by washing it in warm water with mild soap or by using toy cleaner. It is somewhat of a lint/dust collector, so when it is not in use, we store it in a cosmetic bag.

Use of a lube was necessary for Mrs. C's comfort. Since silicone lubes are our lube of choice, this works great with the Verve. For those who prefer a water-based lube, they also can be used with this vibe.
