Cute, But Unreliable

BSwish's Bcute Curve is a compact little G-spot vibrator that is straight forward, easy to use and very affordable. While it's not the strongest or most versatile vibe, it is a great place to start for a newbie in the realm of internal vaginal stimulation because of its price and accessibility. More experienced users that already know just what they want out of a G-spot vibe may be less than impressed. It's also great for travel because of its size and discreet packaging.

Use

The Bcute Curve is a small G-spot vibrator from Bswish taking its name from a gently curved end featuring a smooth, flat tip. The Curve's design makes it optimal for external or internal use vaginally, but because it lacks a flanged base it is not meant for anal use. It does still work rather nicely for low, diffuse vibrations to the perineum or outer anus, but insertion into the rectum is certainly asking for trouble. In terms of the vibrations themselves, they do limit its use somewhat. Even at their highest they are not particularly strong, so that only the most sensitive users will enjoy this for clitoral stimulation. This is a nice, inexpensive toy that would be ideal for a beginner looking to explore G-spot stimulation, but unfortunately more experienced users that already know what they are looking for in a G-spot vibe will likely not be impressed. But for a entry point into the world of penetrative vaginal play this is a cheap and fairly quality toy to start with.

Material / Texture

The Curve's shaft is from non-porous matte silicone which creates a nice friction, but is not textured or contoured in any way with the exception of a slight seam running vertical around the toy. I did not notice the seam during insertion but it does have the annoying tendency to catch fluid and lubricant in it so you have to pay careful attention to it during cleaning. The battery cap is made from hard plastic which is minimally porous and easy to care for. There is no smell or taste to this toy, although silicone and plastic can pick up smells on their surfaces. By leaving your toy out in an open, well-ventilated area you can allow for scents to dissipate should they accumulate on the surface.

This vibrator should not be used with silicone based lubricants as they can negatively interact with the silicone material of the toy. You should stick to water and oil based lubes with this toy if you require any at all, however the small size of this toy makes it pretty comfortable for insertion without.

Design / Shape / Size

As always, I am impressed with the simple but chic, modern look of BSwish's toys. They remind me of Fun Factory in that they all seem to have a classy, high-quality, but between fun, functional shapes and cute colors, they manage to lack the pretension of other toy lines. The Curve is no exception. Its vibrant silicone shaft comes in three rich colors: a cool, smokey pink, a deep, slatey purple and a bright Barbie magenta. I got mine in the magenta color and remember thinking when taking it out of the package that this would make an excellent first vibrator because it's, well, so cute, as the name suggests. There is a silver colored ring that separates the white battery cap from the toy, and overall it's just a very beautiful toy. BSwish also includes a small, black faux-satin pouch with a rosey lining, which is great for storing your toy in to prevent it gathering lint and hair. The pouch also makes the Bcute Curve convenient for travel very unassuming looking; I feel confident that I could leave it out on my desk or throw it in my purse without it attracting much attention.

The Curve is about 4.5 inches in length (about 3.5 of those being insertable at its max) with a width of about an inch, so again it's ideal for a newcomer to vaginal penetration because of its unintimidating dimensions. If you are someone that requires a lot of length and girth to get off this is not the toy for you, and if you know that your G-spot is set somewhat farther back then this might not reach it. For those like myself that don't need lots of girth and have relatively shallow sweet spots, this toy should push all the right buttons, no problem. Its shaft curves abruptly in a come-hither hook and has the same kind of flat tip that the Ella does. This flat head is part of what made the Ella famous, and it works pretty nicely for the Curve too, although it's no Ella. The flat head allows this little vibe to cover the maximum amount of surface area and makes finding your G-spot less of a goose chase. I definitely like having a lot of blunt surface area on the end of G-spot toys; more pointed toys make me feel like someone is trying to take my G-spot's temperature and that is NOT FUN, thank you very much.

Honestly? I didn't love this toy. I really wanted to because in description it's a dream come true. Cheap, discreet and made from quality materials. But it's vibrations were so weak that it really didn't do my clitoris much good, not even as a teaser. It was sort of more of a whining, annoying distraction than anything. For insertion I did find it was pretty nice when combined with a little finger stimulation of my clit. The vibrations, while far from mind-blowing, did provide a little extra oomph internally, and the shape of the shaft did a pretty decent job of hitting the right spots considering its size. Still, the unreliability of the functions left me frequently frustrated, and I ended up abandoning it in the middle of masturbation sessions for other toys much of the time.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations in the Curve are located primarily in the tip, and are a buzzy, surface kind of vibration rather than a deeper, more penetrating rumbling. The toy does not have a consistent level of sound; at times it's very quiet but at other times it sounds almost as if the motor is rattling around inside, creating quite a racket. The Curve's settings are controlled by a dial base which allows you to determine your own level of comfortable stimulation, although unfortunately it does not have a very broad range of choices. I was most disappointed by the lack of consistency with performance with this little one; the vibrations occasionally operated at full capacity but often would oscillate back and forth between weaker speeds and even switch off altogether. Sometimes I can't even turn the damn thing on, and I have to screw the cap off and back on a few times, jiggle it around, do a special dance and light candles to various saints in order to get it to work. This is a problem that I've often run into with dial-controlled slimline vibrators, and I give the battery cap of the Curve a closer look in the video above. I'm no expert, but I think the little wire (which is pretty dated in terms of vibrator technology) inside the battery cap that creates connectivity might be part of the problem.

Speaking of, the Curve takes one AA battery and it is splashproof meaning you can take it in the shower with you but it should never be fully submerged. A rubber o-ring inside the battery cap keeps water out, but rubber o-rings can often be unreliable and I don't typically trust them to protect my toys' motors beyond a quick rinse in the sink. Overall, this vibrator is very attractive, discreet and unintimidating for a beginner, but really falls flat when it comes to basic functioning.

Care and Maintenance

A little warm water running at low pressure and some anti-bacterial soap are enough to effectively sanitize here, although you could also use a 10% bleach solution or a toy wipe to clean your Bcute toy with. Because the silicone is non-porous is a safe for sharing, but because it is difficult to insure 100% sanitizing of your toy without boiling, you may want to use a barrier such as a condom or dental dam with a non-fluid bonded partner. A barrier is also useful if you use it on the perineum or outer anus to avoid the silicone taking on unpleasant butt smells.

The toy can be stored easily in its pouch, or in a plastic Ziploc bag, as silicone tends to attract lint, dust and hair.

Follow-up commentary
Ah, the Bcute curve. We definitely got off on the wrong foot. Bswish is a great company and I was disappointed because I was expecting a lot more from them than what I got with this vibe. However, I've really started to like this toy. This is not a toy I would use to get me off with majority of the time, but every now and again I love using this for tortuously drawn out, teasing orgasms. It's also just great for warming up with, and it's small enough to fit just about anywhere including your purse. The only thing that remains a problem is that its vibrations are not consistent and can go a bit wonky at the wrong moments. And still, I've developed a soft spot for it somehow. Call me crazy but I think I'll be keeping this one around a while longer yet :)
