My boyfriend and I had been considering purchasing the
Decadent Indulgence Hummingbird Vibrator by California Exotic for some time. While I’ve had a
Wabbit vibe for years, I’d never owned one of these new-fangled, rotating, sex toy of the future models, and wanted to try one out. However, since they are generally pretty expensive, we made sure to do lots of comparison-shopping at consumer-friendly adult stores before settling on one to buy. Of all the versions I man-, or more accurately lady-handled, the Decadent Indulgence seemed the most user-friendly of them all. So, my awesome boyfriend bought me one.
After getting it out of the package and hastily ripping off my panties for a quick test-run, I found myself a little overwhelmed. It seemed quite long, and it took me a few minutes of playing with the controls to figure out exactly what my options were for using it. However, always a good sport, I lay back on the bed and went to work.
The toy is shaped nicely, with a pleasurably sized head and texture from the inner ball bearings. It is a nice color, and with the sly little hummingbird on top is at once pretty and slightly cheeky. It has a great variety of vibration settings, though the more intense ones (which are weapons-grade intense) are pretty noisy. The shaft rotation feels nice, though because of the length, I wasn’t comfortable inserting it to its maximum potential; thus the back end of the rotating portion was barely nestled inside of me. However, the sensation of the movement on the outer edges of my pussy felt really great, so I’m not going to list this as a downside.
The clit stimulation hummingbird is wonderfully designed; the wings vibrate against my labia, while the mischievous beak stimulates my clit intensely. I will list one downside here, though… the beak is a bit too intense for my tastes. In fact, I needed to snip off a tiny bit with a pair of scissors to make it more comfortable to use. Before I snipped him, the sensation was such that I would be close to orgasm and then have to pull it away because it was getting unpleasantly intense. However, the slight modification has made this issue obsolete.
The other negative aspect to this toy, in my opinion, is that it took me a while to get used to the bulky controls and multiple options. After more use, though, it’s feeling a bit more natural to use and maneuver. It is also quite loud, so using this toy for a discreet orgasm while your partner is sleeping sweetly next to you is definitely not an option. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this dual-action vibrator to anyone who wants a feminine, effective and sensually intense toy.

- Great review! This is still one of my all-time favorite vibes, and I think you hit nicely on all its features. I've heard from several people who have "snipped" the beak, which I think is a great solution if the hummingbird is too intense.

- Did you have any problems with rough edges on the beak once you snipped it?
- Miss Lizbet
- No, Z, I haven't had any issues with the beak. Because the material is soft and pliable, there seem to be no discernable rough edges after the snipping.

- Thanks, Gunsmoke! I'm glad you were able to modify the toy so that your wife can enjoy it to the fullest.
- Oggins
- Great review! At least now I know if I purchase it and the beak is too intense, I can "neuter" it! LOL! Thanks!
- Miss Lizbet
- You're welcome, Oggins. Just make sure, if you do any neutering, to take tiny bits at a time...you can always snip more off, but if you take too much, you might ruin your toy!
Leave a commentMiss Lizbet - right on the money. My wife also found the beak of the hummingbird too intense. Once I snipped off the beak she loves the combined feel of the wings on her shaved vulva and the bullet nestling up on her clit - great advice!
