Long lover by NMC Ltd - review by Rockin'

The Long Lover is a corded bullet vibrator made by NMC. This bullet is best used for external stimulation or internal vaginal pleasure. Since the bullet does not have a flared base, it is not safe for anal insertion. Use the dial on the parallelogram-shaped controller to turn on and adjust Long Lover's vibrations.

Both Long Lover's bullet and control are lavender-colored ABS plastic, while the cord is covered in a more flexible, clear plastic material. The bullet is quite smooth except for a seam running around its middle, making it look like a huge medicine capsule. The tip of the bullet has a small mark, likely from manufacturing, but shouldn't be felt during use. The hard ABS plastic material gives the control a solid feel, and transmits vibrations in the bullet quite well.

The hand-held control is about 1.25” wide by 3” long and is about as thick as a deck of cards. The edge of the control dial is textured, allowing a better grip for fingers slippery with lube. The bullet cord plugs securely into the top of the control. The 4” long bullet is almost 1” in diameter at its widest, and tapers at the end for more pinpoint stimulation.

Long Lover is powered by two AAA batteries in the hand-held control. Turn the dial on the control clockwise to increase Long Lover's vibrations. A small red light next to the dial turns on when Long Lover vibrates, and increases in brightness with vibration intensity. Long Lover's vibrations start off rattly and somewhat deep. As you increase the intensity, the vibes become shallower, more buzzy, and less rattly. Vibrations are strongest near the tip of the bullet, and remain strong between the tip and the seam. The intensity is much lower between the seam and the cord, but will likely still make your hand feel buzzy if you hold that portion during use.

Long Lover can be used to stimulate the clitoris or external genitalia, or taken internally for vaginal and g-spot stimulation. Its straight shape does not aid in pinpoint g-spot pressure, but its length may allow some users to angle the tip for g-spot pleasure. Whether used internally or externally, applying pressure to the bullet noticeably decreases its vibration power. The decrease is most significant when pressing on the sides of the bullet near the seam. Users who enjoy a broad area of stimulation may find this flaw frustrating. However, if you enjoy pinpoint stimulation or prefer using the tip of a bullet, this flaw should not greatly affect your experience.

Use any lube you like with Long Lover. Neither the Long Lover bullet nor the control are waterproof, so make sure to keep water and fluids away from the cord port and battery cover. The bullet can be washed carefully with soap and water, or cleaned with wipes or toy cleaner. The control should not be placed under running water. Instead, wipe with a damp cloth if it needs cleaning. Make sure Long Lover is dry before storing. The dial control is easily turned, so remove the batteries when Long Lover is not in use to avoid unwanted start-ups and drained batteries.

Long Lover comes in simple plastic clamshell packaging with a cardboard insert and general instructions for NMC vibrators. The insert describes Long Lover's features and is tasteful in appearance. The instructions oddly recommend applying lubricant to the bullet before inserting the batteries, but are otherwise logically sound.

Long Lover is a decent toy. I'm not wowed by it, but I'm also not terribly disappointed. Discovering that pressure affected the vibration intensity was a let down, but I've still had several good orgasms with this toy. Long Lover only has steady vibrations, but applying rhythmic pressure to the bullet makes the vibes feel like a pulse or wave. How's that for looking on the bright side? Also, its slick surface makes it ideal for play through barriers like panties. I like using buzzy vibes through panties so my skin doesn't get itchy from the vibrations. I think Long Lover would make a good first vibrator or first bullet, but might not impress users who already have a few favorite vibes.
