Didn't Give Off Quite the Right Vibe

The iVibe pocket rocket is great for beginners who want to see what kind of toy they like. The positives are that it has a moderately strong vibration, has both a smooth surface and a rough surface for stimulation, and is small. On the other hand, the iVibe pocket rocket only has one setting and is not that easy to clean. I would recommend this vibe to beginners and people who think that a vibe with a moderate vibration made of hard plastic is right for them!

Use

The iVibe pocket rocket was the first vibrator I ever bought. My friend recommended it and since the pocket rocket is small, discreet, relatively inexpensive and comes in cute colors, I decided to buy it. The pocket rocket seems to be made for the clitoris, but can be used externally to stimulate a person's vagina or anus and could also be used for nipple stimulation. Please use caution if you decide to use the vibe around the anus, because it does not have a flared base. The handle of the vibe is easy to hold, and therefore controlling the vibrator and stimulating different areas is simple. The tip of the vibrator has a clear cap on it that is hard plastic and has little nubs scattered around. When the cap is off, the tip is made of hard white plastic and has three smooth metal balls in it. This vibe would be great for someone who likes a vibe of a moderate speed, made of a hard material, and that has texture.

The iVibe pocket rocket could be used for both solo play, as well as play with a partner. The vibe would be great to use on a partner's clit while they are being penetrated or to stimulate a partner's nipples to get them excited for the night. The vibe is small and can easily fit in a bag to be brought on a trip. The textured head of the vibe could be a good introduction or beginning toy for someone who is interested in texture. The iVibe is a simple toy that can really get a person going.

Material / Texture

The pocket rocket contains hard plastic throughout the toy. As listed on the main page for the toy, the pocket rocket is made of food-grade material, is hypo-allergenic, latex free and phthalates free. Plastic is one of the safest materials for a toy and therefore, this toy is definitely safe for use on genitals. My vibrator is made of a clear blue plastic that is very pretty and the tip is of a hard white plastic with three smooth metal balls at the top. The metal balls tend to be a little chilly when first used, which could be nice for someone interested in temperature play. My vibe also came with a cap that goes on top of the tip that is a clear hard plastic with many little nubs on it. The cap would be great for people who like texture or who would like to try texture, but since the cap can be removed, people who do not like texture can enjoy the toy, as well.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the pocket rocket is very straight-forward. The vibe is a small, from top to bottom is only four inches, and is a cylindrical shape. The pocket rocket can look like a mini flashlight to someone not familiar with vibes like these. The colors that the vibe comes in are fun and bright. This vibe is small, colorful, and mildly discreet!

Functions / Performance / Controls

At the base of the toy is the battery compartment. In order to open the compartment, you twist the compartment clockwise and it pops off and to put the compartment on, you just twist it in the other direction, counterclockwise. The first time I tried opening the battery compartment to put the battery inside, I had trouble putting the compartment back on properly, but after that first time I got the hang of it and haven't had trouble since. The vibrator has only one setting, so for someone like me who likes to alternate up and down with vibration speeds, this vibe is not quite right; however, if you like a steady moderate vibration, this vibe could be great for you. To turn the vibrator on, you turn the battery compartment counterclockwise and it switches onto its only setting and to turn it off, you just turn the battery compartment clockwise. When turning the toy off, it is very easy to remove the battery compartment by mistake, but it is not usually much of an issue.

Care and Maintenance

The iVibe pocket rocket is not waterproof, which makes it a little bit difficult to clean. The way the plastic parts are attached together leaves little gaps where stuff can get stuck. If you use the cap with the nubs, cleaning the toy is easier, because the cap can be removed and rinsed easily. If using the metal tipped part, you have to be more careful.

Packaging

The toy was packaged in a clear plastic container with words on it. The packaging was very unhelpful in understanding how to use the toy, though luckily, it is very easy to use. The packaging shows the toy and is not necessarily discreet, but also doesn't have sexy pictures on it. It is very plain packaging.

Experience

This toy was not for me, though I think that it is a very well thought out toy and could be good for many people. I personally like to be able to change settings to keep myself excited, so since I wasn't able to change the settings, I was just kind of bored with the toy and would feel kind of numb after a while. I also am not a big fan of hard plastic or texture. I think that for me, this was a good toy for me to start figuring out what I like, but a lot of the features were not quite right. I think this toy is really good for beginners because it lets them see what a vibrator is like, lets them figure out if they need a stronger or weaker setting, and if they like plastic or not. Since my vibe came with the cap with nubs on it, a beginner could try using the cap with texture or use the smooth metal balls. I think that this toy could be good for advanced users who know that the features of this toy are what they like. I think the pocket rocket is a very solid toy and am disappointed that it wasn't the best for me.
