Disappointing Hype!
It's cheap, and I guess if it only takes this much vibration to give you an orgasm, then consider yourself really lucky! I need a friend with more power than this.Published: July 3, 2009
Pros:
Takes normal AA batteries, small enough to be used during sex, waterproof.
Cons:
Metal buttons are too hard and don't give, cheap-feeling plastic, weak vibrations.
I was totally pumped to get this toy, especially for use during sex. The other reviews I read seemed to imply that it was a sure-fire orgasm machine. It also looked durable, cheap, and I thought it might be stronger than the other pocket rocket types. I also chose it because it takes one normal AA battery, and a lot of the other finger vibes use watch batteries or those weird camera batteries. We always have AAs around, so I don't want to go searching out weird and expensive batteries to always keep on hand.
When I opened it up and put the battery in, it didn't vibrate at all. After some tweaking of the battery contacts, it finally started humming along. It has one speed. There are 3 selections: "open", "on", and "off". When turning it on, you run the risk of accidentally turning it to "open", and the battery springs out. This happened a few times while I was using it (I was twisting it around on my clit) and it totally broke my stroke.
At first my husband tickled my face with it and I got goosebumps, which was encouraging; however, when applied to my clit it was kind of dull and lackluster. The metal nubs are too hard for my taste, and the vibrations are too weak.
I'm more used to using softer surfaces on my clit, (fingers, jelly toys, silicone toys, penises), and I guess the 3 metal nubs on the surface of the business end, are just too hard for me. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to mash my clit with vigor, but this was way too rigid and non-flexible.
The three HARD plastic caps that come with it are of no use to me. One of them reminds me of the texture of a bristle block or a doll hairbrush; seriously scratchy. The next one is totally smooth, and the third has bigger nubs. All of them dull the (already weak) vibrations.
This toy is hard plastic and claims to be waterproof, though I haven't tested it in the tub.

There are so many mini vibes and most of them look and sound the same. It there a lot of difference or does it come down to materials?

I'm not really sure but I tend to go for the pocket rockets that have metal tips and are a little more expensive than the super cheap ones. I got a cheap plastic one, see through plastic, and after the first few uses the plastic cracked all over. I think it's better to invest in something a little higher quality.
