Divine in Pink

This is a fantastic higher-end toy. The vibrations are not mind-numbing, but they are more than enough. The Iris also presents you with multiple vibration patterns and varying intensity. This vibrator is well made and should last a long time.

Use

I think this vibrator is best used for vaginal play. It seems like it would be too large for anal play, but it could conceivably be used for anal. The widest part of the shaft is 1 3/8 inches, so it should work for the average girl. It is made of silicone, so just clean it when switching between holes ... or partners. It is great for masturbation or for a couple to use together. It has a nice curve to the shaft, so it can also be used for G-spot play.

Material / Texture

The insertable part of the Iris is made of a firm silicone. It has a slightly matte feel to it, and the shaft is textured in the shape of a flower. Since it is silicone, it has a very light scent at first, but after the first few washes, this scent goes away. It seems to take a little more lube than my other toys, but I don't mind that at all. I think this toy would work well for anyone. Since the silicone is firm, it feels larger than the stated measurements.

Design / Shape / Size

The total length of this vibrator is 9 inches with 5 1/2 inches of that length being insertable. At its widest point, it is 1 3/8 inches wide. The shaft is slightly curved and textured to resemble a flower. Between the firmness and width, the toy feels larger than it actually is. With some lube, it should work for just about anyone. The handle has a keypad that allows you to turn the toy on and off, up the intensity, and change the patterns. If you hold the keypad in the middle, you can turn it off quickly if need be. I store my toy in a black silk bag, and it doesn't take up much space. It also holds a charge for at least three hours, so you don't have to drag the charger with you if you want to bring it along when you travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Iris has dual motors, and it has five functions. The first function is continuous vibration at the crown. The next is continuous vibration at the base of the stem. The third function is short pulses between the base and tip. The fourth function is longer pulses between the base and tip, and the final function is vibration in both motors. When I squeeze the toy while it is set on the fifth function, it goes into rapid pulsing in both motors. I don't know if this is an intended function since it is not stated anywhere, but it is really nice. Once you get used to the controls, they are easy to use; but this might take a time or two. It is also very quiet; I don't think anyone would hear it outside my room. For example, I'm writing this review in the living room with friends while watching a movie, and they didn't notice me cycle through the functions.

Care and Maintenance

The Iris is not waterproof, so be careful when washing your toy. You want to avoid getting water in the seams, keypad, and charger port. I normally use toy spray, and then after several uses, I wash it carefully with soap and water. I then pat it dry and store it in the black silk bag it came with. You cannot use silicone lubes with this toy since it is made of silicone.

It comes in a beautiful black box with plenty of instructions, a charger, a warranty, and a beautiful silk storage bag. You could use the box as storage, but I just use the bag. The box also looks nice, so you could just wrap the box if you are going to give this as a gift.

Follow-up commentary
This toy is still in perfect condition, and I love it. I've used it a bunch and I've had to charge it no more than three times since I wrote the original review. Since I got my G-Ki, my Iris has been sitting on the back shelf a little bit. I still love Iris, and I still use it often, because it provides a different kind of orgasm for me. I've noticed that Iris is a little firm and maybe a little bit bigger than I need.

  • Vibration Pattern Comparisons
    • Would like to have anyone who owns the Liv, Gigi, Iris & Mona press these toys on a hard surface so the vibration pattern option could be heard. It's nice to do it in a side by side (one after the other) comparison.
    • I would imagine they have the same motor and very similar patterns. I have only tried the Liv and it is fantastic.
