do you dare to get this Rabbit?

I highly recommend to look at other Rabbit vibrators and forget about this one. The lure of the unsual rotating discs creates a desire for this toy that just doesn't deliver. The discs rotate, but not the shaft. The purpose of those rotating discs is to create a unique rotating shaft experience. That never happened. I had been so excited about getting this Rabbit with this unusual feature. And here I had this sadly performing excuse of a Rabbit.

Use

Double Dare 4-Play is a Rabbit vibrator. As is typical of any Rabbit vibrator, a rabbit clit stimulator is attached to the main body of the vibrator. This one is a loosely styled appearance of a rabbit stimulator. The main shaft of Double Dare is inserted vaginally. The idea is to have simultaneous stimulation and possibly orgasms. The front of the packaging insert states that it is waterproof. However, there's a small notation on the back of the same package insert that states not to submerge in water because it is not waterproof. That, it in fact is (only) splashproof.

Material / Texture

The Double Dare shaft and clit stimulator are made of TPR, thermoplastic rubber. The shaft and stimulator are soft, pliable, supple, and durable. The material the rabbit is made of is toxins free, phthalate free, latex free, and hypoallergenic. If you share the Rabbit, be sure to use condoms since TPR is porous. When I took it out of the package there was no odor or taste.

The shaft has raised swirls on the sides creating intresting texture to the touch. The tip is shaped as a penis head giving the tip texture as well. The material itself is sticky, tacky feeling. As I move Double Dare across my skin, there is a strong drag, pull on my skin. Beginners to advanced level toy enthusiasts are both able to use the rabbit with these textures. The overall size of the shaft is for advanced users, though.

The lower one third of the toy, below the TPR material is ABS plastic. It is a hard smooth shiney surface. ABS is toxins free, phthalates free, latex free, and hypoallergenic. It's also non-porous and light weight.

Design / Shape / Size

Rabbit vibrators are known to not be discreet or travel friendly and this one is no exception. The clear shaft is straight and not flexible due to the inner core. You can see pink discs stacked on top of each other on the inner core spindle. In the lower half of the shaft is the motor in a pink casing.

The clit stimulator is also clear in color. It is attached near the bottom of the shaft motor. It easily springs back and forth. The body of the little clit rabbit stimulator encases a bullet, the power source of the stimulator. There are 2 rabbit ears, arms texture, and a little tail of sorts.

The lower one third of the toy houses the batteries. At the base is the battery cap that easily unscrews. A sleeve slides out that holds your 4 AAA batteries. Once you screw the cap back on, be sure it's securely tightened to prevent water from getting into the battery compartment.

Here are the dimensions of Double Dare 4-Play:
Shaft Length: 9"
Shaft Insertable Length: 5"
Shaft Circumference: 4 1/2"
Clitoral Rabbit Total Length: 3 1/2
Rabbit Ears Length: 1"
The tip of the clitoral rabbit ears reaches 2 1/2" down from the tip of the shaft
Weight: 12 oz.

Functions / Performance / Controls

On the lowest one third of Double Dare is where the controls are located. The built in control pad has an on/off button. When pressed, the rotating shaft and vibrating clitoris stimulator actions begin. Below that button is the control button for the clit stimulator. It has 3 settings: vibrating low, high and on/off. The third and lowest button has 4 settings for the rotating shaft: counter clockwise, reverse, alternating clockwise with counter clockwise rotating and on/off. The buttons and their settings are easy to understand.

The powerful vibrations are felt primarily in the clit stimulator since that's where the power bullet for it is located. However, some vibrations can be felt in the control handle area. This isn't very strong or annoying, though. None seem to transfer into the shaft. There is slight movement of the shaft which is not transfered to any other part of the Rabbit. The vibrating clit stimulator is whisper quiet. The rotating shaft is not.
    • Long lasting power
    • Multiple settings
    • Not discreet at all

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning Double Dare 4-Play is simple and easy. Since it is splashproof, cleaning with warm soapy water can't be easier. Just be sure to not submerge in water. Or you can use a toy cleaner or even cleaning wipes for simple clean up.

Storing the Rabbit does require some care. You don't want to risk materials breakdown or interactions so store it separate from all other toys. Be sure to remove the batteries before storing to prolong their life. And it's a good idea to make sure to not store any toys in direct sunlight or near heat.

Personal comments

The Double Dare 4-play packaging insert recommends, in small print, that it is only for external use. So how can anyone use it as we expect Rabbit vibrators to be used? Also, another statement is made in small print, I quote: "...prolonged and frequent use is not advisable or recommended since this is a novelty item..." Well, what does that mean? A typical length of using a vibrator is 30 minutes. Is that prolonged use? I don't know what that really means. And then frequent use, what is too frequent? That isn't clarified either.

Experience

Now I will share my experience of this disappointing toy. First, it took an enormous amount of lube to insert vaginally. Then, when I powered Double Dare 4-Play on, I felt no rotating whatsoever. I pulled it out and switched out the batteries in case that might be a cause for no rotating power. Once I reinserted it I powered it back on. Still no rotating shaft sensations. This was with the first setting of both the shaft and clit stimulator. I had no problem with the clit stimulator.

So investigating further as to why no rotating movement was felt internally, I removed the shaft again. This time I turned it on to see how the rotating function was working. The shaft was not rotating at all. The head of the shaft was moving a bit but not fully rotating. I saw the pink discs rotating around the central axis or core spindle inside the shaft. But that didn't have any effect on making the shaft rotate.

I lubed it up again and inserted the shaft once again. This time I tested all 3 of the rotating settings. Yes, there was a change in the sound with each push of the button, almost a grinding sound. But again, I felt no rotating sensations. So one more time I removed it to further check the rotating performance.

As I pushed the power button I did see the discs rotating. Then I pushed the rotating setting to reverse the rotation. The discs did reverse their spin. I saw no difference in the movement of the head nor did the shaft rotate. So then I pushed the button for the alternating rotating setting. Again, the discs did follow the expected pattern but not the shaft. What a huge disappointment.
Follow-up commentary
The reason I ordered Double dare 4-play was for the fun of a rotating shaft. I wasn't all that interested in the clit stimulator. I primarily wanted the rotation function. This vibrator didn't provide that stimulation. Because of the grinding noise when it is powered on, I'm not sure if this was part of the noise level or if a defective vibrator. It doesn't matter to me at this point. I am still disappointed in Double dare 4-play.
