Doesn't Cast Spells Or Grant OrgasmsThe Eden Rechargeable Pocket Wand looks like it has a lot of good things going for it, but it lacks where it really counts. The buzzy vibrations are numbing and the lack of true variety is disappointing. Considering how expensive it is, I thought it would be better quality and feel more like a true wand. Easy to use
Not enough true variety in function
The vibrator itself is made primarily out of PU coated plastic, but the flexible neck and three attachments are all made from silicone. Both materials are super safe to use and are non-porous, latex free, and phthalate free. The plastic is very smooth to the touch, as most PU coated plastic is, but the attachments create some drag (and collect lint) that can be eliminated by using along with a water-based lubricant. All the plastic is a darker purple color, and the silicone is all white.
The design is pretty typical for a wand style vibe, featuring a flexible head at the top and controls on the handheld area of the toy. Since this particular wand is so small, it also features a wrist strap on the bottom to help hold onto it. However, if you're a larger person, it won't fit your wrist. It can easily be removed since it tends to get in the way during use.
Included are three attachments, but you can also use the plastic tip without the addition of one if you prefer. Each cap has a different design to it. One has a rounded tip and ribbed sides, another has eight rows of soft spikes, and the third is totally smooth and rounded but narrows before coming to the smaller, ball-like tip. Each provide a different sensation, giving you a decent variety within one toy.
The size is very small for a toy like this, which is pretty awesome if you're looking for something travel friendly. The full length is a very reasonable 7", so it should easily fit inside most purses for on the go fun. The attachments are also very compact in size, so you might want to stick them inside a sandwich bag so they don't get lost.
This Pocket Wand is rechargeable using a USB port. It arrives with a partial charge, but you want to get it nicely juiced up so it doesn't die in the middle of your first session. The charger plugs into the side of the handle hear the power buttons and a small red light turns on to show you that it's charging. When the charge is complete, the light will turn off, showing that you're ready to go!
There are two buttons on the toy, one that controls turning the toy on and off, and the other that cycles through the 10 different functions. When you press the power button the red light will turn on, but the vibrations don't start until you press the function button just below it. The first three settings are low, medium, and high. Though the next seven cycles are slightly different, they are really only various patterns of pluses; slow, fast, slow and fast, etc. There's no escalation, roller coaster, or anything like that. To turn it off, you press the power button, if you keep pressing the function button you'll just keep cycling through the same patterns.
The vibrations are, unfortunately, buzzy. They're a medium as far as intensity goes, but you might find yourself getting numbed by the vibrations rather than being stimulated by them. The silicone does muffle the power slightly, but doesn't change the fact that it's buzzy, not rumbly like most wands are.
The sound level isn't bad, someone wouldn't be able to hear it through a closed door if you had some white noise (like the TV, music, or a fan), but otherwise they might, and certainly would be able to hear it if they were in the same room with you.
Cleaning the end with antibacterial soap and warm water or your favorite sex toy cleaner is great for regular use, but the plastic end can be wiped down with isopropyl alcohol, and the attachments can be boiled or cleaned with a 10% bleach solution to disinfect. Though the plastic tip itself would be compatible with any lubricant type, it's always best to use water-based since the attachments could become damaged if another type is used along with them.
The wand doesn't really come in much of a package, just a clear plastic bag with some bubble wrap around it and no paperwork. The website says that the vibrator is waterproof (but that's hard to trust when there's no paperwork to back it up), but the charging port is open and exposed. When I tested it in the water it did continue to vibrate, but the inside of the vibe filled up with water. When I removed it, you could hear water sloshing around inside of it, and it was difficult to property drain because the hole is so small. I turned it off and after a few minutes tried to turn it back on and it was dead. This is NOT waterproof, but splash proof! You can safely wash the end of the toy in running water, but avoid the charging port and never submerge.
I didn't have super high hopes with this Pocket Wand, typically anything that begins with the word 'Pocket' doesn't really turn out to be anything worth having (in my experience), but I figured it was worth a shot.
The fact that it's compact and rechargeable are two awesome factors, as are the three different tops. That being said, just about everything else was a flop. The vibrations are buzzy, there isn't much of a variety in function since most of the settings are so similar, and it's clearly not waterproof. I wasn't able to climax while using it and only felt numb and disappointed. For this price point, I expected something better quality. Save your money for something better.
