Dolphins are Horny Bastards

Bcurious is a sexy little dolphin, but it's probably not "the" clitoral vibe. It might be for some ladies, but I think this one is more of an acquired taste compared to some of the other toys on the market. Still, if you happen to get it on sale (like I did) then it is a worthy purchase.

Use

Did you know that there are rapist dolphins is the world? There are reports of dolphins attempting to get freaky with humans. Horny bastards.

I only mention this because the Bcurious clitoral vibe from bswish looks like a dolphin ready to breech. This multi-pattern vibe is designed to love the clitoris. It is curved to fit where your hot spots are, but not all anatomies may work with it. The tip of Bcurious could be inserted and inch or so if you wanted to stimulate the vaginal entrance, but it is primarily designed for external use.

Bcurious could also be used to stimulate the P-spot externally. I wouldn't recommend this one for anal play since it has seams and is so oddly shaped (no flared base as well). Bcurious is als great for those who are green since it is rechargeable. It's not as discreet sound wise as some other clit vibes, but it doesn't sound like a plane on take off or anything that egregious. If anything, you can take this little guy into the shower with you. He is labeled as waterproof, but I don't think I'd submerge him in the bathtub (more on that in the functions section).

This toy is a good option for intermediate to beginner users. Some more advanced users may like Bcurious, but there are better clitoral vibrators out there. This one isn't as universal and the vibrations are not as intense as other competing toys on the market.

Material / Texture

Bcurious is made out of plastic and silicone. If I didn't know what it was made out of and had to guess, I would think it was PU coated plastic. The silicone layer is thin, but nice. The main material is plastic and makes up the shape and support of the toy. Still, Bcurious is made of food grade material and is hypoallergenic. It is also non porous, so bacteria won't be able to thrive inside the toy. It ranks an 8 out of 10 on the safety materials scale, which is pretty darn good. There is not overt odor to the toy, which is always a plus.

Texture wise, the toy is smooth. It is its shape that give the toy differences in sensation. The texture is beginner friendly. If you are looking for a clitoral vibe that gives you texture, then this one may not be for you. Bcurious is a solid toy, it is unyielding and won't bend from where you place it.

Design / Shape / Size

Bcurious really does look like a dolphin. When you put it on a flat surface, you can press down on either end of it and watch the toy rock back and forth. It is also deceivingly light. The product page says it's 10.5 ounces, but i would venture to say it's even lighter. The lightness is great if you decide to use the toy for long periods of time. Your hands won't tire out as quickly.

In terms of size, Bcurious is very manageable and beginner friendly. Since it is designed for external use, it does not appear intimidating. Bcurious is ergonomic and fits comfortable in my hand. It measure at 4.5 inches long and is 1.5 wide in diameter. It is enough toy that you can have a decent grasp on it and be able to place it where you want it. It is a normal size for most luxury clitoral vibes out there.

Left to right: Bcurious, Bliss Massager (good toy), MiMi (also great), and Tango (my favorite)

Bcurious is discreet for travel. It can be placed in the pouch it comes with and be taken wherever you intend to go. I would make sure it is stored in a way that it doesn't get jostled. This will decrease the chance of it turning on by accident. At it's loudest, the toy falls between 2 and 3 bees. It shouldn't be heard beyond a door and blanket for most settings. When in doubt, turn on some music or have some background noise.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Bcurious has two buttons and is easy to use. It has a ON/OFF button and a pattern button. Once it's turned on, it has the following vibrations patterns, with 7 in total.

1. Low Vibration: 3 Vrooms
2. Medium Vibration: 3 - 4 Vrooms
3. High Vibration: 4 Vrooms
4. Accelerating coaster: 2 - 3ish Vrooms
5. Fast pulses: 3 Vrooms
6. Faster Pulses: 3 Vrooms
7. Three short pulses, one long pulse, repeat: Solid 3 Vrooms

When it comes to intensity, I think Bcurious is higher than 3 Vrooms at it's highest, but not a solid 4 Vrooms if you compare it with MiMi and Tango. The vibrations are more buzzy than rumbly, but are still pleasurable and don't make your hands numb (unless you use the toy for a long period of time). Bcurious does not have a memory, so when you turn the toy off, it always starts at the beginning of the pattern cycle.

Bcurious is marked as waterproof. It has a rubber seal over the charging port. Always make sure the seal is secure before bringing the toy near water. I don't think it is as secure as other waterproof mechanisms, so I will not soak this toy. However, it has handled showers just fine.

This vibe is also rechargeable. When charging, it flashes a blue light. When it is done charging, it does not flash anymore. When depleted, it takes an hour or so to charge. It holds over an hour of charge between uses.

Care and Maintenance

Since it is external, care is pretty simple for this toy. You can wipe it down with a wet cloth or wet wipe. You could also wash it with soap and water. Debris might collect around the rims of the toy that are pink, but this is easy to take care of. I have the black version and it hardly collects lint even though it is silicone. It will pick up a stray hair or dust spec every now ans then, but it brushes off easy enough.

Because it is silicone, only water based lubricants should be used with Bcurious.

When dry, it is best to store Bcurious in the black, drawstring pouch it comes in.

Packaging

The packaging for Bcurious is quite lovely. It's not discreet, since it has a woman with lingerie on it, but it's still nicely done (tasteful). Once you remove the clear plastic wrap, you can open the top of the box that has a tray with the toy inside it. Beneath that is the charger, a black pouch, and an instruction pamphlet.

I love the pouch this toy comes with. It reminds me of a thick gym fleece (or athletic material). It is large enough to fit both the toy and the charger with ease. This toy would make a nice gift.

Personal comments

By now i have sampled quite a few clitoral vibes. I have tried: MiMi, the Bliss massager, and the Tango. I have other clitoral vibes, but for this comparison, I'm am only counting rechargeable clitoral vibes that are hand held and do not have handles or resemble wands (which is why I'm not counting Bloom, even though it's an awesome toy).

At this point, if I had to rank these four toys for overall awesomeness it would be as follows:

1. Tango
2. MiMi
3. Bliss
4. Bcurious

Both Tango and MiMi are more rumbly and have deeper traveling vibes. They also have a magnetic charger, so the inside of the toy has no risk of coming into contact with water. Bliss has a resealable port, which makes me paranoid sometimes, and Bcurious has that little ribber tab on the side to close the port (like a cell phone charging port). I think both the Bliss and Bcurious have more of a learning curve when using. Bliss has an interesting control/button scheme, and the shape of Bcurious requires some use and experimentation to see if it can hit your hot spots okay.

Would I recommend Bcurious? I recommend the others first, but I do like the look, presentation, and packaging of Bcurious. MiMi has lovely packaging, but it doesn't have a storage pouch like Tango does.
