Doubly Frustrating

The Double Duty is a hit or miss. Aimed for beginners pretty exclusively, it will get the job done, but probably with a bit more work than you're used to.
Published: March 11, 2011
Pros:
perfect size, nice texture, safe material, good for beginners
Cons:
not rigid, loud, strong odor, lint magnet

Use

Aimed toward beginners to double penetration, the Double Duty is an adequate stepping off point to get you used to the idea, but other than that, it's probably a miss, especially for advanced users. It features two shafts that aren't very long or wide, and the vibrations are a bit disappointing. That being said, beginners to DP or even beginners to anal will have a friend in the Double Duty, as long as they have plenty of lube on hand.

Material / Texture

Its made of soft, smooth TPR, a silicone-like substance that is mildly porous. It has a distinct cherry scent and that translates into taste as well. The vaginal shaft has three beads of ascending size and both shafts have a realistic head. The entire thing is very smooth, almost jelly-like and very flexible.

TPR is naturally hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. Keep in mind that as it is scented it may cause irritation for some people.
    • Flexible
    • Somewhat porous
    • Strong odor

Design / Shape / Size

The Double Duty is nearly nine inches from base to tip. The vaginal shaft has an insertable length of about 3 3/4 inches and has a max circumference of about four inches. The anal shaft's insertable length is about 3 1/2 inches and the circumference is three inches. The vaginal shaft is straight whereas the anal shaft has a curve for more natural insertion. The base is quite large and easy to hold. This toy is perfectly sized for beginners to double penetration. It is definitely not discreet or easy to hide, so I probably wouldn't travel with it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

It has an easy to turn dial base for dynamic vibration control and ranges from about the strength of a typical cell phone vibration to maybe triple that. For not being very strong, it is rather loud and you could probably hear it through a door if there wasn't any background noise. The vibrations emanate from a large visible bead just under the shafts and seem to be focused primarily on the anal shaft. The Double Duty is also waterproof, but I experienced some slight leakage after prolonged usage.

Being as pliable as it is, it was rather difficult to get this to work for me. It took more lube than I would have liked to get it slippery enough to slide in instead of veering off course when I tried to insert it.
    • Multiple settings
    • Not very discreet
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

Being made out of TPR this toy is pretty easy to care for. Wash with warm water and soap or your preferred toy cleaner before (mostly because it's a lint magnet) and after every use. If you plan on sharing, use a condom on both shafts. This toy is only compatible with silicone and water based lubricants.

To store this toy I would recommend either keeping it the original packaging or in its own bag separate from your other toys to avoid freakish toy melting syndrome.
    • Difficult to store
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The Double Duty comes packaged in a plastic clamshell case with a cardboard insert and a separate insert that is a multilingual "vibrator instruction manual". They're generic instructions but it's rather nice that the company thought to include basic care and usage instructions. However, it does say to clean with alcohol, which is not advisable with all materials.
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet
    • Very informative

As far as I know, the P spot is the man's prostate...but as it pertains to the review of that toy...not entirely sure.
    • Taken from this article about prostate massage (P-spotting):

The prostate is a small, walnut-shaped gland located smack-dab between the penis and the rectum, right at the base of the bladder. And if you’ve ever had an orgasm, you’ve felt its sheer majesty, as it serves a multitude of sexual functions:

      1. It secretes a fluid which lubricates the urethra (the passage that carries urine and semen) and protects sperm as it exits

      2. It produces between 10-30% of seminal fluid; or, to put it in layman’s terms, it busts up your nut

      3. It helps shoot forth the sacred nut (a.k.a. money shot, a.k.a. duckbutter), thanks to smooth muscle tissue which serves as a sort of seminal slingshot

It depends, I have been with guys who want to do anal and want to use a dildo or vibe too. I personally loved it but I don't know how it would feel doing them both with one toy. sorry no help here..

It is likely due to the material (in my experience jelly-like TPR doesn't transfer vibrations too well) and because of the bullet placement. The bullet being at the joint will cause less vibration in the tips of the attachments, meaning less intensity overall.
    • O I do see the bullet inside there. Suppose I could always break out my vibrating purple hippo to go with it :)
