Durex play...sometimes

The allure is a great starter toy, especially if you are experimenting to find out what you do or do not like. Sometimes I found myself wanting more than it could offer, and other times it was just right.

The Durex Play Allure was the first vibrator I ever owned, and for a first toy it's pretty decent. I bought this toy as a package deal about three years ago, it came with a lube and a cute silky purple drawstring bag.

This toy itself is very chic looking, and doesn't seem to be very intimidating, with it's average size. I'd have to say my experiences with this toy have been pretty good, and the pros outweigh the cons for sure, but as with everything in life there are certain things that could improve this toy.

If you aren't super flexible, and are a bit on the plus size like I am, you may have a little difficulty with using it on yourself for penetration, as only 4 and a bit inches are actually insertable.

I love the fact that toy is a multi-speed, with the bottom of the toy being the dial (and on/off switch). When the toy was new and had fresh batteries in it, it went from a simple dull vibration, and grew quite strong the more you turned the dial. The range of vibrations is surprising and meet many different needs.

I found the toy itself was fairly easy to clean, (I tend to over do it while cleaning toys, because you can never be to careful), using water, and then an actual toy cleaner. I also unscrewed the end and cleaned the threads of the lid/toy with a q-tip.

This toy has a smooth and sleek design, and when mixed with lube, using alone, or with a partner proves pleasurable despite certain flaws. The actual vibrations itself are surprisingly not too loud, which is great if you live with family or roommates, and the toy itself is decent priced. The Allure is water resistant, but is not waterproof (which I didn't read that right when I first got it and used it in the shower).

That being said, if I didn't make that simple mistake I'm sure the toy would be in good working order, but the vibrations are very faint, no matter what brand of battery you put in it. That mixed with the fact that I've owned the allure for over three years, well to put it simply, I should get over my attachment issues of it being my first toy, and dispose of it already!

Glad to hear this is strong enough to be pleasing. I'm sorry it wasn't waterproof. I always prefer a waterproof toy! lol. I think I'll just pass on this one. Doesn't sound terribly special or that wonderful, and plastic does little for me. Thank you for sharing though. I enjoyed reading about it.
