In fact, for its price and qualities, it could be applauded for its rudimentary function! The Shower Vibe is a small, discreet vibe that is perfect for those who live with others or don't have the privacy they wish they had. Being waterproof, it can be whisked away to the shower for shower fun. It can even stimulate the clitoris during potential shower sex.

The Shower vibe can fit between partners easily during many positions. The tip and designs can be used to tease the erogenous zones. While small, it can be inserted for vaginal stimulation. The Shower Vibe is not designed for anal stimulation. It has no flared base. The size and make of this vibe makes it more likely to get lost than some other toys.

Overall, this little toy is a great gift for anyone who wants to start their friend down the sexy path of adult toys! It is affordable, functional, and has a cute design. It's just that this vibe feels like my other toys that have PU coating.

Either way, coating or not, the Shower vibe ranks higher on the safety scale at an 8. The toy is non porous, so no nasties can take up residence inside. It is hypoallergenic, latex-free, and phthalate free.

The other side also has a flower design, and nicely they are not symmetric. Both designs are different from each other and make the toy refreshing. You can feel the designs during insertion, and especially if you use the shower vibe to tease the entrance to the vagina. The toy naturally has a little drag, and the texture gives it more drag. It's best to add some lubricant before using to reduce any possible irritation. Unless you are very sensitive, the texture should not cause issues. It is still very beginner friendly. The shower vibe is firm and will not bend in any way.

There is a light plastic odor to the shower vibe, but you have to put your nose up to it to smell it. It's negligible.

The shower vibe is very discreet. It can easily fit in a purse, bag, or jean pocket. I would remove the battery before traveling with the shower vibe. The button is located at the base of the toy and could accidentally turn on if it gets jostled about. To save potential embarrassment, take the battery out. In terms of noise, the shower vibe is louder outside the body. It's about 3 bees on the highest setting outside the body, but it's 1-2 bees when inserted. You won't be heard with the doors closed and covers thrown over you. Or if it's too warm for a blanket, just put on a little music or the TV.

The shower vibe has one button at the bottom of the toy. It serves as both the ON/OFF and the settings. The toy has two vibration settings: Low and Hi. The vibrations are more on the buzzy side. The low setting is about 2 Vrooms and the Hi setting is about 3 Vrooms. If you need vibrations beyond 3 Vrooms, this will be nothing but a teaser toy for you. The vibrations are more buzzy than rumbly in nature. For a toy that's 3 vrooms, the vibrations travel fairly well. However, I can see the toy making fingers "itchy numb" if the vibe is used for extended periods of time.

The button cycle goes like this: On with Low setting, Hi setting, Off. If for some reason you get walked in on, or need to quickly shut off the shower vibe, hold the button down half way. This breaks the circuit and will keep the toy off if you keep the toy half pressed. Granted, if you get walked in on, you have more things to worry about, but it's good to know. The controls are easy to use and the settings are basic. Pattern lovers look elsewhere, these vibrations are steady.

If you unscrew the shower vibe, it has that plastic/rubber ring that ensures a watertight seal. Not caring too much if the toy died, I decided to do science and submerge the shower vibe (I generally never submerge my toys beyond the battery cage because I tend to be cautious). The shower vibe did just fine under water.

Care for the shower vibe is pretty easy. Soap and water works well. You can use wet wipes, but if you use the toy internally, you'll need to clean debris off the patterned sides. Luckily, the vibe can be rinsed in the sink or even left to soak. Still, if leaving to soak, I would remove the battery (why tempt fate). Yes, it might be tedious to clean the patterns of the shower vibe, but I would rather have them and do the extra cleaning than have a plainer looking vibe.

Once dry, the shower vibe can be stored with your other toys. If storing for long periods of time, it's best to remove the lone AA battery it needs.

Both silicone and water-based lubricants can be used with the shower vibe.

The packaging for the shower vibe is far from discreet. It has a picture of a couple going at it in the shower. I also have to give Sportsheets a point for advertising their sex in the shower handle while presenting us with this vibe. The advertisement goes further as there is a little slip showing other products the company has. There seemed to be no instructions in the package. The packaging is not designed for long term storage. If giving as a gift, I would splurge on a little drawstring pouch to give as storage.

I tend to be paranoid about discretion, so even if a toy is discreet, I want to make sure I'm not heard (I overcompensate for the vibrations). While I say to throw a blanket over or put on the TV, I don't think it's needed with the toy, especially if it's used internally most. To be honest, I threw the shower vibe in as a purchase in order to hit a certain price point (either free shipping, a coupon, I forget). I figured it was cute for its price and decided to give it a shot. I'm surprised with the quality of it for its price. Still, because I have so many other great toys (MiMi, Tango, and Bimini Ocean, just to name a few) I know this toy will probably be neglected at the bottom of my toy bag. Because it is small and cute I probably won't throw it out.

The good news is that since I've tried it, I know it would be a good gift for a couple of friends. I like trying toys by getting myself one before giving them to others.
