Everyone likes a little Magic from time to time.
Hands down a must own for all toy seekers; and the bonus is it passes for and works as a therapeutic massager for those sore and stiff muscles.Published: July 23, 2008
Pros:
The powerhouse of vibrating toys.
Cons:
You might wake the neighbors due to screaming orgasms.
I can't really add to what others have said about the Hitachi Magic Wand. It is the preeminent pleasure producer, and has been for a long time. Things haven't changed much in its design - but why should it - if it ain't broke - don't fix it. Sure you can buy a cordless version in the Acuvibe, but the corded version never loses power - doesn't need batteries or recharging.
So why am I writing this review - more so to give the men out there some ideas - specifically on how I use it to please my wife. For starters, it is powerful and thus caution should be used. Turning it on and jamming it down on the clit won't get you the response you are looking for. Some people will put something between the massager and that which is being massaged. I like to put a little lube on my finger and then put the massager against my finger as I caress around her labia and clitoris. Doing this keeps it more personal and not so mechanical.
Once she is getting into it, I have developed another technique that my wife thinks is absolutely fabulous and is guaranteed to get her off. What I do is move around between her legs. I then put a little lube on the my middle finger and on the outsides of my ring and index finger. I then grab the ball end of the massager like you might grab a ball. I then gently insert my middle finger into her vagina while I place the outside of my ring and index finger on either side of her clitoris. The Magic Wand will then vibrate all three fingers. She prefers the higher setting. The great thing is you can really stimulate the g-spot, while also working over the clitoris.
The other nice thing about this technique is that it does not require direct contact of the massager to the more sensitive areas, and you can back off as needed. You can also grip the ball tighter to reduce the vibrations as necessary. My wife tends to get used to the vibration over time and ultimately is open to direct contact with the clitoris. This is easily accomplished because when she is getting close to orgasm, I can simply spread the two fingers apart, which opens the labia, allowing great access to the clit.
This is by far her favorite toy. The problem comes in that everything else pales in comparison. We also bought the g-spotter attachment - of which my wife affectionately calls it "Gonzo" as it is shaped like Gonzo's nose from the Muppets. However - I would definitely recommend the Gee Whiz or Gee Whizzard attachments as they are softer, more flexible, and provide better clitoral stimulation.
In addition, if you try the above technique, I find that due the amount of stimulation taking place and the desire to not interrupt the process, I find lube works better than saliva - saliva disappears after awhile and with all that friction you don't want things to get to irritated.

Follow-up commentary
2 days after original review
I followed my technique again last night resulting in another rave review. I tried to pay attention to how the massager felt in my hand and whether or not it bothered me. Personally speaking it didn't bother me, irritate me, or otherwise become uncomfortable. i just ordered the Acuvibe massager for more flexibility so I hope it works just as well. Watch for my review regarding it.

Hitachi Wand Vs. Acyvube
-
Is the hitachi better than the acuvibe for anyone who has had the chance to try both? I'm under the impression that they are essentially the same thing but maybe I'm wrong...
-
I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

The shell is starting to crack but it still functions great, I just wanted to know if we should switch when I do want to buy a new one. More powerful sounds good :)

The Size !!!!!!!
-
Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
-
In the way of what, exactly? It's not really a toy for couples play and actually it's not even designed for masturbation but has become the Holy Grail of vibrators through decades of word of mouth.
-

Universal

Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
-
There are a few. If you search the site you can find a couple.

Quote: Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?I don't know if I understand the question, but the attachment we bought for our Hitachi is a "universal" attachment that we bought from another store. It's too "floppy" for me, but is a nice g-spot attachment, or would be if it was a little stiffer!

Bullet Vibes that rival the Hitachi Magic Wand
-
Hello, everyone!
Recently I've sold my Hitachi to a friend, and I've been on the market for a new clit vibe. I'm one of those girls who has a "clit-o-steel&quo t;, so I can't really get off unless I have something powerful on my clit. I bought a LAYAspot by FunFactory, thinking it would be a nice, powerful bullet to use when I'm with my partner, and I realized that it barely even packs a punch!
I guess I'm being a bit picky. I don't want something that's as strong as the Hitachi's HIGH setting, but something kind of inbetween the two, one that has a few nice, strong modes.
I was looking at the more expensive clit vibes- JeJoue's MiMi and Lelo's Siri. Do you think that they would be strong enough? Do you recommend anything? Thanks guys! -
Quote: Hello, everyone!U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

Hitachi
-
This is by far the best purchase I've made. My wife has a tough time reaching orgasm and needs the intense vibrations for her to climax. The Hitachi far exceeds this task, she doesn't use any other toy now, always reaches for the Hitachi. Just need to get her the G-spot attachment and she is set up. Thanks again.
-
I completely agree. The Magic Wand is the best vibrator ever.

Have you ever used a wand?
-
HI I was wondering if you have ever used anything like the Fairy Wand? I have used the baby fairy wand but its tiny... the size of the larger ones kind of intimidate me ... what are your thoughts on them and should I get one?
-
I dislike most of them intensely. They're too strong, too big and they make my whole vulva - as well as my hands - feel numb.
Many folks love them, though! -
I used the Wanachi Mini, which I really liked. Unfortunately it fell apart, it seems mine wasn't the only one either. I did contact Pipedream though and they seem eager to correct this problem!

Thank you for viewing Hitachi magic wand vibrator – massager review page!

Some great suggestions for using an old favorite!
How does your hand feel after that? I've never been able to hold on to the head of the Hitachi for very long.
Also, the head is a bit porous (can't be sterilized), so be aware of that for cleaning/sharing purposes.
I agree, these are some really great suggestions! Thanks for the male perspective!
Have you ever watched the V-blog "Holy Hitachis Batman?" It is about the different attachments for the Hitachi and Ideal, and in said V-blog Essin' Em calls the Gee Whiz the "Gonzo." I thought it was pretty cute actually, and always refer to my own Gee Whiz that way. Is it really sick to get turned on by watching the muppets? lol Glad there are at least a few people that call their Hitachi attachments "cute" names :)
I am wondering the same thing as CW- doesn't holding onto the ball hurt your hand? When I grab the ball on the Hitachi I can feel the vibrations in my bones throughout my arm and shoulder. I had my husband try it, and his reaction was "holy crap! that thing is strong!" He can hold onto it a little longer than I can (male ego I think, just has to prove that he's tough, men are so cute sometimes) but I am wondering how bad it would hurt your hand and arm to hold onto it for a longer period of time.
Sorry that was so long, bad habit of mine. Great that both of you love it so much!
Sorry, there are supposed to be paragraphs in there...
To answer your questions - It really has never bothered me to put it in my hand - it does get a little warm - but I guess I am so focused on getting her off - I have never really thought about it. I do have pretty large and strong hands - so maybe that absorbs some of the power.
I agree those are some pretty cool ideas of different ways the Magic Wand can be used to please your partner. Thanks for sharing.
Go you and her! I can't use the Hitachi directly on my clitoris, it tends to shrink back up wanting to go back into her little house.
How has the Hitachi held up over time? Still a favorite?
Thanks for the review
Great review, thanks!
