Evolved's Spice: Spicier & Kinkier Than I Imagined.

If you've been searching for the perfect rabbit vibe, give the Spice a whirl. It's great if you prefer toys on the petite-side. Good for squirters. Bad for those who need a lot of artificial lube, 'cause the Spice gets slippery & hard-to-manage. She has great curves, but a tendency to top-from-the-bottom. Then again, if you're looking for an interactive toy that's more like an S&M playmate, Evolved Novelties' Spice might be just your thing!

Use

The Spice by Evolved Novelties is a new dual-action, dual-motor vibe in their line of short and sweet waterproof, body-friendly toys. She's made in the shape of your typical rabbit-style vibrator, intending to stimulate the inside of a woman's pussy (with a 4-inch insertable shaft powered by motor number one) and her clit simultaneously (with a slightly curved protruding external piece meant to lie against and surround the clit with three stylized, futuristic-looking petals).

This style of toy is great for all women looking for some self-pleasuring fun. It's great for flying solo, or for spicing up any partner-play.

I don't recommend it for size-queens, as this particular line by Evolved is all about petite toys for women looking for something smaller and less overwhelming. That said, it would make an excellent first dual-action toy for a woman, or good first sex toy in general.

Material / Texture

Evolved's Spice is made of TPR (aka TPE), a somewhat porous polymer blend, and there is a slight odor upon opening up the Spice and first handling her. The odor begins to dissipate fairly quickly after cleaning (and more cleaning, and more cleaning) and exposure to open-air. The Spice is phthalates-free, hypo-allergenic, and latex-free, so she's great for those with sensitive skin.

When I first held the Spice in my hands, I fell in lust. She was soft and flexible and smooth, and a sensate's dream. The Spice has curves, baby, and yes, they do add extra stimulation. They make everything hotter and wetter. Since the Spice is still a petite toy (compared to the majority of the market), beginners and advanced users alike should be able to take some pleasure from them. All our bodies are built differently. Unfortunately, the best way to tell how the Spice's curves will please you is to give her a whirl!

Design / Shape / Size

I adore the conceptual design of the Spice, and what I imagine the Evolved designers were going for with this one. However, for me and my pussy, in construct, the Spice was an epic fail. My pussy is not a size queen by any means, though I, like most women, enjoy that feeling of fullness and vibrating goodness inside of me. I'm a squirter, and awesome g-spotting from a quality toy brings me right over the edge from the realm of the mundane into the realm of unequaled bliss. Generally, I'm easy to cum.

And don't get me wrong, the Spice did make me cum! Time and again! And again! And again and again! She even gave me mind-blowing squirting orgasms, along with vaginal orgasms, clitoral orgasms, and some yummy full-body ones, too. She didn't threaten to pierce or bruise my cervix like the Seduction (the first vibe I reviewed of Evolved's), and boy was my cervix happy about that!

I loved the feeling of her curves inside me, her dual-motors working me effortlessly to the peak of orgasm and over that cliff into the skies of bliss over and over. I loved how her body shook and quivered inside and outside me, as mine shook and quivered, and for a while, the Spice and I felt like we were one.

So what's my issue? Any time I tried to take the reigns and be a little more proactive in controlling my orgasms, the Spice got angry. She did things I didn't like such as randomly turning off because her controls are right in the middle of the only place you can get a grip to thrust and fuck. She was so slippery with my juices (or just shaped so badly for my pussy) (or both?) that she kept popping out of me. When I'd go to push her back inside, she'd turn off. Again. Arrrgh!

Want a vibe to keep you on your toes, that will top you from the bottom? I highly recommend the Spice by Evolved Novelties. She'll keep you on your toes better than any sassy, smart-ass subbie out there. And just when you think you have her figured out, she'll outsmart you.

To show how much I love you guys, I thought I should try her out with both water-based and silicone lube. (The first few times the Spice and I played and she dommed the crap outta me, I went au naturale.) Well, let me be the first to tell you, ladies and gents, the lube must have been a co-conspirator of the Spice! A fellow sadist! She got so slippery so fast, that not only did she rebel more frequently and at a higher intensity (popping out of me like a rocket launching for outer space), but she was so damn slippery that grabbing her to put her back inside was like alligator-wrestling, and the accidental turning-off from the previous no lube experience morphed into an accidental turning-off, turning-on, turning-off, on, off, on, off, what-the-fuck, is it on?, off, on, off, crazy discombobulated slippery mess and by the time I finally got her to stay on ("Good girl. Stay, Spice. Sit, stay. That's a good Spice.") she'd jump right out of my pussy again. I'm starting to think that Paula Abdul and all those physics geniuses who said opposites attract were just wrong. So incredibly wrong.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are located all through the clitoral attachment piece and the motor of the insertable part is located in the bulbous head (which should hit the g-spot nicely on most women), though the vibrations do distribute nicely down the length of the Spice's shaft.

Evolved's Spice only has three functions: low, medium, and high. I like high-powered toys (just not sado-masochistic ones, to clarify). High is my favorite vibration setting on the Spice.

The controls are convenient and easy to use. A bit too easy and a bit too convenient, as mentioned above.

The Spice is really quite quiet. She runs on 2 AAA batteries (which are not included, so make sure you purchase some with her, or have 'em handy when you're ready to play). She doesn't seem to be a battery guzzler. And the Spice is great in shower and tub, except for all the same issues I had with her out of water.

Care and Maintenance

Evolved's Spice is fairly easy to care for. She's compatible with your favorite water-based or silicone lubes, and can be cleaned with warm water and any universal toy cleaner or mild soap.

Since the Spice is made of TPR, which is slightly porous, please take care to use condoms if you plan on sharing your toy to help prevent the spread of infection.

Packaging

Evolved Novelties has something great going on when it comes to packaging. The Short & Sweet Spice comes in a metal tin with two snaps at top and bottom that hold the cover closed. The cover has a window that showcases the Spice's beauty, and enticing translucent pink (or purple) vibrant colored body. Once you take off the cover, the Spice is laid in a molded holder, and user's instructions (which I never even glanced at, 'cause she's pretty self-explanatory) are tucked against the side of the tin. The tin also comes slipped into a white cardboard sleeve when you receive the product from Eden Fantasy's, so the Spice is perfect and easy for gift-wrapping. The tin also makes an excellent protective storage box that keeps the Spice clean and lint-free.

Experience

I had a teeny bit more success with flipping the Spice around and nestling the clitoral attachment between my ass cheeks (not inserting it) and keeping the shaft inserted in my cunt. That felt really good. And for some reason, it seemed to stay in place A LOT better for me. (And no more accidentally turning-off either! So yay. It still did pop out. But not nearly as much.)

(Note: if you choose to use the Spice in this way, make sure to clean extra-thoroughly, as TPR is porous and can't be boiled to disinfect. As a reminder, for your health and safety, please don't switch between having the clitoral attachment near your ass and then putting it immediately near your pussy. Clean, clean, clean. And optimally, choose one use for the toy, and stick with it. Or use condoms if you plan on changing it up.)

Also, when flipped around like that, the Spice is AWESOME-SAUCE with the Hitachi Magic Wand for clit stimulation. Holy mother... Now THAT was a good trip, y'all!
