Excuse me, Waiter? I thought there would be more rocket in this pocket.
Two of my favorite things, illicit magic and combustion, are in the name of this toy, so what could possibly go wrong? Apparently a lot. Low frequency combined with a larger effective surface area result in a mild experience with what could have been a lovely tool.Published: November 29, 2010
Pros:
AA batteries
Waterproof

Cons:
Not "Pocket Rocket" strong
Single speed
Single speed
When someone calls a toy a pocket rocket, I imagine pulling a cartoonishly large V-2 rocket out of my pocket and riding it to the moon somehow. I assume everyone has the same thought, even if it’s just metaphorically with an orgasm. I started with high hopes for the Black Magic Pocket Rocket, since it seemed to have everything going for it. Phthalates free black plastic with a velvety touch, and a flat front studded with little fingers about the size of a quarter. It also ran off an AA battery, which in this household is always a plus. But after using it a few times during sex in various positions, we found that it really didn’t live up to the hype I had built up in my head.
First, it is single speed, which I feel is an oversight given how many similarly sized vibrators have variable speed, or even just two speeds. Second, the vibrations given by this toy do not, in my opinion, fall into the “Pocket Rocket” category. I sat this vibrator next to the four that I already had which were of comparable size, and found it either on par or lacking to each of them. Also, before anyone complains, I mixed the batteries around a few times, and there was no noticeable change in order. I found that the Black Magic vibrates at a much lower frequency than other vibrators and attempts to make it up by having a greater amplitude. This, coupled with its quarter sized nubbed end distributes that low frequency over a large area, making it harder to orgasm while using it for clitoral stimulation. My wife tried it several times while I was either fingering her or fucking her, and had to either fight for her orgasm or switch to another vibrator. The lack of another speed to step up to also made it difficult to get off.
My wife is very much a clitoral girl, and she needs hard and fast vibrations to help her get off. If you’re someone who’s looking for a vibrator with a lower frequency that vibrates slower but hits a little harder with each oscillation, get this vibrator. However, if you’ve been playing with vibrators for a while and wanted to see what all the fuss was about with these pocket rockets, this really isn’t the best starting point.
For the price, I really shouldn’t be complaining much, but if I’m going to be honest in this review, I have to be hard on any toy which doesn’t give my wife an orgasm. Simple as that. I think we can all agree that in the end, that’s what matters most.

Black Magic Pocket rocket and I vibe Pocket Rocket
-
Has anyone tried both Doc Johnson's products the I Vibe Pocket Rocket and the Black Magic Pocket Rocket? I have the I Vibe, but was looking into getting the Black Magic and didn't know if it was worth getting or not. It's on my wishlist none the less until I can figure this out.

I don't have either of those, but this pocket rocket The Ultimate Massager is the stronger I have tried. It has 10 functions and really amazing patterns. I love it.

thans for the review my first vibe was a Doc Johnson's pocket rocket.

Thank you for viewing Black magic pocket rocket – sex toy review page!

Sorry you and your wife didn't like this little rocket.
I usually equate low frequency toys, (rumbling vibrations) with orgasm, but every woman and man is different. If it didn't work well for her, maybe you two can use it for a warm up toy. (I am hard to Orgasm, so most of my toys are for either warm up or secondary in tandem with my Wahl or my Hitachi. Can't get there without either one of these.
Hope your next toy is a winner!
I'm sorry this toy didn't work for you; I didn't care much for this pocket rocket myself so I understand your frustration.
Thanks for the review!

I did want to add (a year later) that the Ultimate Massager by Nasstoys is a really great, deep rumbly pocket rocket with 10 functions, including some really exciting roller coaster stuff.
You may want to try that. It costs $25.00, but you often get what you pay for. For $25.00, I think it's one of the best and most used toys in my collection.
Good review
