Failure to Launch

Sleek and elegant, Apollo is definitely fun to look at. But with only three low settings, play can get a little boring.

Pros
Quiet, easy to use, decent battery life. Great for beginners.
Cons
A little boring for more advanced users, not strong enough.

Use

This toy was probably intended to use externally because of the small size of it. The insertable length is only about three inches or so, and its shape isn't optimal for g/p-spot stimulation. I can't say how well it works anally (though I'm sure those sensitive enough may enjoy it) since I have not tried it, but I can say it did nothing for me vaginally. It worked pretty well for clitoral stimulation, but it was nowhere near enough to get me off. Then again, I am a bit of a "power queen". Personally, I use it to help me get started on nights when I plan on taking my time. I like to use the slowest setting around my vulva, then move to the clit, and slowly get up to the highest setting before moving onto my breasts and nipples back on the slowest setting. Beginners and sensitive users will probably get some good use out of Apollo, and maybe even advanced users for a little bit of foreplay.

Material / Texture

The Apollo Bottle Rocket has a very velvety texture, which is one of the things I really liked about this product. It feels wonderful against the skin. Its lack of ridges and bumps do make it a little boring for insertion, however. Apollo is made from a rigid plastic. I didn't get a noticeable smell when I first opened it, which is definitely a plus. It holds onto the smell of whatever you clean it with, though, which isn't something I've noticed with my other toys. This little bottle rocket is hypo-allergenic, and is best suited for beginners.
    • No odor
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

Honestly, I think the Apollo is down right adorable. I love the gentle curves of its design and, well, I think small things are cute. Yes, I'm one of those people. Aesthetics aside, it's not quite the right shape for p/g-spot stimulation, and its length and width really don't do much for the average person. Since it is so small, it is very easy to hide and travel with, even if you decide to keep it in its super cute packaging. Of course, if you do choose to keep it in the packaging, it won't be very discrete.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Apollo only has three different speeds, which I found to be a little boring after a while. The first is pretty soft, which is great for teasing. The second is more moderate, and the third is a little stronger than that. The button to change speeds is placed on the end of the vibrator, making it easy to accidentally hit and change speed/turn off right at that critical moment. Definitely not fun. The vibrations seem to carry though the entire device, the size no doubt aiding in that. I find it to be pretty quiet, and it's almost completely silent under a blanket or comforter. Apollo stands up pretty well in the shower as long as you make sure the end is screwed on well. I haven't tried submersing it, so I'm not sure how well it will do in the tub.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

Care and maintenance are very easy with this toy. Just wipe it down with your favorite toy cleaner or some soap and water and you're good. I like to use the original packaging as storage, and I keep a battery in there with the toy. You don't have to use it, but I think it's pretty handy. It can be used with any sort of lubricant safely, and you can store it with other toys with no problem.

Packaging

The packaging has to be my favorite part about this product. It's so cute! While it's not very discrete, it's very handy for storing Apollo and even a battery or two with it. The bottom of the package screws off, revealing a little pedestal that the vibrator is screwed into, which keeps it safe while in storage. It's very durable, and would make a great gift.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

Sadly, the vibrations are not enough for me to keep this at the top of my toy box. The only thing keeping me from putting it in a box in the back of my closet is that it's good for a little bit of foreplay and it's pretty cute. I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would, which is a shame because I was really excited when I first got it. I'm trying all I can to find some way to love my little Apollo, and for something that costed me twenty bucks(I'm a pretty cheep person), I'm not going to give up any time soon.
