Faith - sex toy by Evolved Novelties - review by Luscious Lily

Evolved has presented us with a nice little toy with a nice little promise: for every Faith that is purchased, a portion of the proceeds will go toward finding a cure for breast cancer.

The Faith is a good toy for both beginners and advanced users looking for a nice travel toy. It covers all the bases for a good beginner toy: it's non-intimidating, it's easy to clean, it's waterproof, it runs on a common AA battery, it can be used for internal or external play, it's small enough to hide easily, it's made of body-safe materials, and it's inexpensive. Designed as a clit toy, it's good for all-over teasing and tantalizing.

The Faith is made of ABS plastic with a PU coating. It is hard and smooth, with a slight velvety friction. This is far less prominent when it is wet or lubed up, but it is still noticeable in a lovely little way. It's just enough to keep your lube from wandering while you get everything in place. People used to heavier velvety coatings may find this to be slicker than anticipated.

There was no smell or taste to this toy.

An inspired twist on a basic design is always welcome, and Evolved did a fantastic job on this one. They started with a basic silver bullet shape, scaled it up, and flattened it slightly. Then, they curved the cap end to work with the curve of the palm instead of digging it, and made the end flat with a push-button in the middle. Finally, they flattened the side of the bullet end under where the index finger can rest, giving you a nice, fingertip-like surface to play with on your target erogenous zones. The way it fits into the hand and works with its shape, it's almost like having a vibrating finger.

The size was well-chosen - while it's large enough to prevent the cramping that plagues smaller bullets and to be fun for teasing the vaginal opening (no butts, please!), it's small enough to use during partner sex. Plus, it's small size makes it easy to hide and great for travel. While it isn't discretely shaped, you might be able to pass it off as a novelty charity-designed travel massager. Because the Faith is not much larger than a tube of lipstick, it's easy to take it with you when you travel.

The motor is set about a centimeter from the business end of the Faith, centering the vibrations right around that fingertip-like flat pad at the tip. Because it is made from hard plastic, the whole thing vibrates; be warned that your fingers may start getting uncomfortable after a while. The power is controlled by a soft push-button on the flat cap base. The material is strong enough that it doesn't feel like it's going to die under normal usage. Evolved remembered to do something so often-forgotten but very helpful with that button - when you press it, it give a strong, audible click. You never have to wonder if you're pressing it hard enough, and since you have to press this one nice and hard, that's a good thing.

The control button is well placed. It's out of the way so that you won't accidentally change the setting mid-action, but you can still up the power with one hand if you want, no matter how wet things get.

There are three steady vibration settings on the Faith, low, medium, and moderately high. All are on the buzzy side, but most users will find them strong enough to make up for it. The first click turns the Faith on at the lowest setting, the second brings you to the medium setting, the third to the highest power, and the fourth turns it back off.

The Faith passed the waterproof tests with flying colors: it survived showers, squirting, cleaning, and prolonged submersion in a hot bathtub while staying dry inside.

Plastic is one of the easiest materials to care for. It can be used with any lube, and can be stored with any other toys. After playtime, the Faith can be wiped down with toy cleaners or washed with soap and water. If you ever need to sanitize it, you can use a 10% bleach solution.

While the plastic in the Faith won't react with other toys, its velvety coating could be scratched by hard, sharp or rough surfaces. Storing it separately in its own bag (or the tube it comes in) is recommended.
