Feelin' Groovy

The lamppost in my room knows that the Groovy Chick is a well designed dual stimulator. For most women, it will work very well, assuming the user has a lot of patience. And I mean a lot of patience. Since this toy is pretty flexible, it can open to fit a wide variety of users. But be careful, it probably won't work for everyone. If you want to spice up your sex life with the Groovy Chick, you'll need some parsley, sage, rosemary, and most importantly, thyme.

Use

The Groovy Chick is a dual g-spot and clitoral stimulator, assuming it works with your anatomy. The bullet end is meant to sit on the clitoris, while the slimmer end is insertable. Theoretically you could use the g-spot end anally, although Rocks Off makes other toys that would be easier to use for that purpose.

The silicone is fairly flexible, so this toy can be stretched (or compacted - more or less) to fit your dimensions. But you might have to work for it.

Material / Texture

This toy is made out of 100% silicone. So no silicone lubricant! There are waves in the clitoral end, which intensify the sensations at that end. The g-spot end is pointed and smooth. The texture itself is "good" for all users, but the shape might be hard to deal with. I'll talk about that more in the next section.

The silicone itself is remarkably flexible. Or rather, the toy is flexible and the silicone is relatively firm (but not rock-like). And it's easy to hold, even with a little lubricant.

Design / Shape / Size

The Groovy Chick is about 4 inches long and 4 inches wide (including the gap in the center. The circumference around the bullet end is a little over 4 inches while the circumference around the g-spot end is 3-4 inches.

Now here comes the tricky part. The design. I haven't used the Rock Chick, but it seems like this toy is a little smaller, which might make it easier to manipulate. The toy itself is a piece of silicone molded into the shape of a "U". There is a bullet lodged into the clitoral end, however the vibrations are carried throughout the toy.

This toy is unique in that you can also use it hands-free. You can insert the g-spot end and rub against the clitoral end while sitting in a chair - without using your hands! I found this to work fairly well, although it's not really my style.

Theoretically the g-spot end should hit your g-spot while the clitoral end lays on the clitoris. Since the toy is bendable, I was able to manipulate this toy with both of my hands to stimulate both regions simultaneously. However I was disappointed because I was hoping to be able to use this toy with one or no hands.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There is a bullet in the clitoral end of the toy. This bullet has an on/off button. When the vibrator is on, it will go to a single steady setting. The vibrations themselves can be felt through the silicone. I would describe them as mild to moderate. They are also slightly "higher pitched" and less rumbly, although they're not too buzzy. The vibrations also carry quite well to the g-spot end. The entire portion of the other end - not just the tip - vibrates. It feels quite good!

The toy is meant to be used in a rocking motion. Either sit and rock in a chair (this may or may not work with your anatomy), or rock it manually. Once you find your own groove, no pun intended, you will be able to appreciate the construction of this toy. I found it easiest to position the clitoral portion first, then use my second hand to guide the g-spot piece.

I haven't been able to remove the bullet. It might be possible, but it doesn't feel like it should be done (even if it could be).

Care and Maintenance

Since this is a silicone toy, it should be used with water based (not silicone) lube. It can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or a 10% bleach solution. Boiling is a no-no because it could ruin the bullet.

I store my toy in a ziploc bag (dry!!). Watch out, this toy can collect dust/lint.

Personal comments

It took me FOREVER to review this toy. Mainly because I had to keep trying and trying and trying to get this toy to work. You'll see in the video that the shape of this toy is pretty unique. And I didn't want to write a bad review, unless the toy was bad. I just had to figure out how to make this toy work for me. And ultimately it did, although I won't be grabbing this toy for a quickie.

Experience

The video is coming soon! EF accidentally switched my pink Groovy Chick with a purple one, but I didn't ask for an exchange because I liked the purple (and it was a free assignment after all). Although EF has always been great with exchanges if there was any kind of defect, so I'm sure they would have been in this case too.

why thank you my former student (but the title feels neglected, it's S&G too)!

I agree that the bullet is somewhat difficult to pull out when you first get it, but it can definitely be done without hurting the toy. Each time I reinsert the bullet, I make sure to apply some lube to it -- and it is much easier to remove now. With the bullet removed, I've been able to boil the silicone portion to sanitize it. (Plus, I like using the bullet alone since I love the tapered tip of it and its vibrations! That alone makes the effort to remove it the first time worth it!)

Nice job on the review.

oh, didn't know that. It's REALLY wedged in there! I think I'm going to leave it though, it's snug like a bug in a rug!

I just don't think this would have enough power for me being just a bullet

Thank you for the honest and informative review. I have yet to find one of these "in and out" curved toys that fits my anatomy right, to hit the "right" spots.

  • What's the difference between rock chick and groovy chick?
    • Both are definitely interesting to me and they look like fun. I don't really know the difference though.

just from glancing at the pix, looks like the groovy chick is a little smoother on the g-spot 'hook' and less nubbed on the clitoral part than the rock chick. I haven't tried either though, and wonder the same. The rock chick is substantially cheaper it would seem.

It looks like the Rock Chick has a more severe curve as well. I don't know how much that would matter though since they should both be quite bendy.
