Resonating micro dolphin - strap-on vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by BBW Talks Toys

This dolphin strap-on clitoral vibrator, at first impression, seemed like it would be a great addition to my toy box. When I opened the package, I was met by a soft TPE (or TPR) dolphin that was already strapped with soft elastic straps, a small bullet, and two sets of batteries. As a BBW, I took careful inspection of the straps. They were very stretchy, and they adjust to quite a large size, so I was quite impressed with that. As to how they perform, well, that's to come later.

This toy would be most useful for clitoral stimulation either during intercourse, or solo with the use of a vaginal vibrator or dildo. You can use the bullet without the dolphin to tease anyone or anything.

The dolphin is made of a soft TPE silicone. (Also known as TPR) The bullet is a matte silver plastic. The elastic is soft. The TPR of the dolphin is not pure silicone, so it is porous and is not meant to be shared, as it cannot be sanitized. I supposed you could put a condom over it if using it without the straps, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of the strap-on allure.

There was a slight smell to it, but not overwhelming, that disappeared when I washed it with soap and warm water.

The dolphin itself has little nubs on the underside of the belly that can be used for extra stimulation. That texture could be good for a beginner, but I don't know if more experienced users would really like this toy.

You can only use water or silicone lubricants with this toy. And you WILL need it!

The dolphin is about 4 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide. If you place the tip of the nose into your hood, the belly on your clit, the tail might just rest by your opening. It's wide enough to keep your lips spread a little while placed. If your anatomy is a little smaller, the tail might get in the way of your vibrator (or dildo) or your partner. This may or may not be something that is appealing to your partner to feel the vibrations directly on his penis, but you'll have to move it out of the way, which isn't really a problem since it's very flexible material.

The elastic for the straps, adjusted to the largest size, is 39 inches in the waist, and about 24 inches for each leg strap. They will stretch to about double the size, but stretching it that far can fray the elastic. This fit me just fine, and could have stretched further in the waist if I were bigger, but adjusted all the way out, it was comfortable around the waist for me. This impressed me, as most strap-ons are not designed for BBWs.

It's fairly obvious that this is a sex toy, so it's not very discreet in design.

The bullet fits right in to the dolphin. You can feel vibrations throughout this small toy, but it's most felt in the belly of the dolphin where the head of the bullet rests. The bullet has three speeds: low, medium-low, and medium (ish?). The settings are accessed by a push button at the top of the bullet that is a little sensitive. It can easily be accidentally turned on or off while adjusting this if you are not careful, which can completely kill your buzz (pun intended).

We did not use this product in the water but I did test it. I held it under running water and changed the speeds with complete success. I even submerged it in a cup of water and changed the speeds and it did not stop working; however, when I removed it and turned it off, there was a little water in the grooves where the battery lid screws on, so I would not leave it submerged for very long. Although, if the bullet is inserted into the dolphin properly, there might be enough of a seal from the TPR to not effect the battery, but I wouldn't risk it.

It is a very quiet bullet. Outside of the covers, the vibrations can barely be heard until you get to the highest level. So if you are living with roommates or children, no one would be able to hear this at all.

After two uses the TPR that holds the waist strap broke. This was disappointing since it occurred when I was removing the straps to wash the dolphin and the bullet the second time I used it, so this was disappointing to me that it would not hold up to basic maintenance. The elastic frayed and some of it began to unravel. The fraying could have occurred when I was testing the elasticity, but I'm not sure.

TPE (or TPR) should be washed in warm, soapy water. You can also use your favorite toy cleaner or toy wipe. The wipes might be the best way to go since the dolphin won't survive removing the straps multiple times to wash it in the sink. You could store the toy in a toy box or a toy pouch, or even in a plastic baggy if you don't have a box to store your toys. This will collect lint, so you should clean it before and after use.

I find it to be high maintenance. Since I don't own a toy cleaner or toy wipes, I cannot really wash this easily.

This toy comes in a simple box, with a "sexy" woman on the front and a prominent picture of the toy. If you fold in the top of the box that hangs on a peg, you could wrap this. You probably wouldn't store it in the box as it just came in a plastic bag in the box. Carrying the box, it would be obvious this is a sex toy.

The best part of the packaging is that it comes with two sets of batteries. (6 LR-44 batteries total!) This is like "Gift with Purchase!"

There were no instructions for the product, but honestly, it's not that hard to figure out.

My first impressions were good: OK vibes, lots of give in the elastic, clitoral stimulation (which is key for me)... but those impressions did not last.

Overall, this was a disappointing toy. I was not expecting too much from this toy to begin with, but thought maybe there might be something redeeming about it. It turns out, the batteries are one of the only redeeming values: It's the same type of batteries as my Little Honey, so I'm excited not to have to buy any more for a couple of months!

The only time I really even started to feel the buildings of an orgasm was when riding My Mister, about 15 minutes in... It would have taken a lot more time and a LOT more concentration to actually achieve an orgasm. While using this in a traditional "missionary" position, the buzzing just soaked up my juices, and the lube, and eventually made my labia numb. I don't have any experience with strap-on vibrators, but I'm sure that there are better ones out there. I'll be on the lookout because I am excited by the idea of having a vibe on my clit while having great sex with My Mister, but this vibe is not the one.
