The Venus Butterfly will probably be pushed to the back of my toy drawer and not seen again. Maybe one day, if we decide to spend an entire day playing, I could use it to warm up but other than that I will stick to my regular bullet.

I have to say I was totally disappointed with the Venus Butterfly. In theory it seemed awesome and I couldn't wait to find some time to try it out but then just blah. It is made to be hidden discreetly in your panties so you can walk around and enjoy the different speeds and pulses without anyone knowing. Well I never got to the walking around part but I figured if it couldn't even get me close to getting off in the bed why bother trying to walk around with it strapped to me...right?
I do think that in the right mood and if you are highly sensitive on your clit that the Venus Butterfly could be successful in helping you achieve orgasm or at least being a fun means of foreplay. It just wasn't for me.
The Venus Butterfly is made of a clear TPR material that is ribbed in some areas and smooth in others. It is VERY pretty and the packaging is well done (although larger than I think it needed to be) It really does make you want to tear the box open and run for the batteries! It is basically a hard toy with a somewhat soft cover. But mostly just hard. Normally I like hard but this just felt...like it stuck to everything.
Unfortunately, for some reason, I found the butterfly kind of pulling on my hair. I normally keep it very clean cut and groomed but even with the tiny patch of hair that I keep it still felt like it was pulling. And using lubricant did nothing to stop this.
It comes with a silver, high-tech looking control box that I recently discovered is compatible with other toys/attachments. So that makes me feel better...maybe it wasn't a total loss. The control is kind of hard to deal with. If you hit one button it moves on to the next vibration function....if you hit the other one it shuts off. Can be VERY frustrating.
The design is well thought out and as I said before would probably work for someone who was more sensitive. I prefer harder bullets and very strong vibrations.
The straps were confusing as all get out for me. I will admit that I do not have a lot of experience with strap-ons so that might have been the problem. I wouldn't say that you needed to be an advanced user to get the butterfly but as a beginner toy it would be better just to start off with a good old fashioned bullet.
The butterfly has 7 different functions. I did find that I enjoyed the escalating function better than the vibration or pulsating. I am normally a vibration on high setting kind of girl but once I realized that it would never be strong enough for me to cum I tried to use the escalating function. It helped arouse me to the point that I could get another toy and finish the job. I guess you could say the Venus Butterfly is a good starter toy for a night.
The controls are simple to use even though I found myself hitting the "off" arrow quite a bit instead of the one that changed the functions. But I learned pretty quickly to stay away from the off switch with no other problems. I would say the controls are very easy and great for beginners.
The noise wasn't unbearable but I don't think I would feel comfortable hanging out with some friends and trying to be discreet about it being in my pants!
It is not waterproof so be careful around water and while cleaning the product.
Now to the straps...again, hard to figure out, they will fit just about any body type.
The vibrations come in 7 different functions. #1 is slow #2 is medium # 3 is high. #4 is what I kind of think as the random speed. It will do slow..slow..fast. And then start over. #5 & 6 are the pulsating vibrations with some variations. They are all awesome!
The cord running from the toy to the controller is about 3 feet long.
The toy was easy to clean up. I used a little Before & After spray and wiped it up and wa-la! I was done. It can be stored anywhere but the straps tend to be a bother when just tossed in the drawer with the other toys. They will get wrapped up in other things. No fun having to untangle a toy when you are ready to go.

Not too much to update on. I did try the butterfly with some really great lubricant and it still did nothing for me, still didn't hit the right spots, and still had poor vibration. It has forever been banned to the back of my toy drawer.

I have yet to see one of these that actually hits the right spot. I want to scream to the manufacturers, "THE CLIT, the bullet is supposed to hit the clit! It's in front!" They always seem to move around, so the bullet is over your vagina, which might be fun, but gets frustrating when it doesn't do what you want it to.

I had one at work while I was in California, it was so quiet that nobody could hear it, however, the straps could be seen through my pants, and my girl friend didn't hesitate to point it out.
