Use

I've seen a lot of vibrators in my day, but every once in a while I get one in my hands and the design really cracks me up. This cute little red vibrator sort of resembles one of those brushes you use for scrubbing dishes.

It is designed for both external and internal stimulation. The disc shaped head has many tiny silicone finger-like nubs, which can be used for external clitoral stimulation or internal G-spot play. When used externally, you get more of a broad sensation. There is no way to get pinpoint stimulation. When used internally, you are able to target and really stimulate your g-spot well. I can see this working for a very broad range of users, no matter where your G-spot is located. The curve of the neck allows you to angle this any way that you would need to, and the head is broad enough to cover a lot of ground.

The shaft is an average size, and the insertable portion is well within the average range as well, so beginners and advanced users alike will enjoy using this vibrator.

Although this is clearly marketed as a G-spot toy, you could use this to tease anally as well. There is no flared base though, so I would advise against inserting the toy. It is also great for teasing any other external erogenous zones. The tiny vibrating nubs really tingle your skin.

Material / Texture

The box of the G-Tickler touts that it's 100% silicone. I assume they are referring to the portions that would come in contact with your body. The internal motor, as well as the plastic shell beneath the surface of the toy, are not silicone. You can pull the silicone cap off of the portion that unscrews to insert the batteries and clearly see hard plastic and metal parts that make up the "guts" of the vibrator.

I'm happy to see more silicone options out there for affordable vibrators, but be aware that while the portions that would touch your body are made of a very nice feeling silicone, this toy is not 100% silicone.

Silicone rates a 10 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale, and is a wonderful material for sex toys. It is hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous and phthalates free. The surface has a smooth velvety feel, with little to no drag. There is no odor or taste to the toy.

Every surface of the G-Tickler is soft and comfortable, so even though there are lots of nubs on this toy it would be great for a beginner. The nubs move quite a bit when the vibrator is used, but they are soft and pleasant. It feels like dozens of tiny fingers hitting just the right spots.

Design / Shape / Size

The basic design of the G-Tickler is a smooth shaft which angles to a round head which has tiny nubs on one side. The total length of the toy is 6 1/2", with an insertable length of around 4". The shaft itself measures 1 3/8" in diameter. After about 4 1/2" from the button end, the shaft starts to angle. It slims and bulges, and then slims again, before ending in a ball shape. The surface of the ball parallel to the shaft, on the far side, is covered with dozens of tiny nubs. Except for one larger nub in the center, which measures 3/16", the nubs are of fairly uniform size, about 1/16". The smaller nubs are arranged in concentric circles around the larger center nub.

Although the shaft is firm toward the base of the toy, there is a great deal of bend and flex up near the head. That allows you to angle this toy comfortably, but it also takes away from the amount of pressure you can get when you want it.

I'd say that anyone seeing this is going to know that it's a sex toy, so best to keep it put away. If you intend to travel with the G-Tickler, please remove the batteries, as there is no travel lock.

Functions / Performance / Controls

To operate the G-Tickler, you press the single button on the bottom of the shaft. Pressing the button once turns the toy on, subsequent presses cycle you through the functions. The G-Tickler has 8 functions. After cycling through the 8 functions, pressing the button again turns it off. If you wish to turn the toy off without cycling through all of the the functions, you can press and hold the button for three seconds and the G-Tickler will turn off. When you turn it on again, it starts over at the first setting; it does not remember the setting you used last.

The 8 settings are:

1-low steady
2-medium steady
3-high steady
4-ascending wave
5-fast pulse
6-faster pulse
7-crazy fast pulse, which feels like a higher steady
8-random

I would say the G-tickler is on the low end of average, as far as sound is concerned. It does make some noise, but it isn't so loud that it is distracting. The vibrations are located in the head of the toy, with little to no vibration in the shaft. It doesn't irritate your hand to hold it, and the squish of the silicone make it comfortable to grip. I didn't accidentally hit the button during use, as you have to push it until it clicks to change functions, which takes a bit of pressure. I find the button convenient and practical; it's easy to use with no issues.

As far as power is concerned, this toy is a solid 3 vrooms and more on the buzzy side. It will satisfy most users in terms of intensity, but if you prefer a rumble you will want to look elsewhere. It did get the job done for me, so I think it will work for most people, but it was more buzzy than I would like. I prefer a toy with rumble, and this guy is all buzz. The buzz isn't the speedy buzz of a cheap bullet, it does have more depth than that, but it isn't a rumble. It isn't a powerhouse toy, so if you need 4 vrooms you might want to look elsewhere. The G-Tickler takes 2 AAA batteries, which are not included. To install them, simply screw off the cap on the bottom of the shaft, slide them in and then screw the cap back on. It has lasted several hours on one set of batteries, so it isn't a battery guzzler.

The G-Tickler is waterproof, so you can take it with you in the shower or bath. The O-ring that allows it to be submerged seems well made and secure. I had no issues with it losing power, or water getting into the battery compartment. After several trips to the bath tub, it still works like new.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for the G-Ticker is fairly easy. You can wash it with soap and water, or your favorite toy cleaner. If you wish to sterilize it, you can wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. Take care to keep water out of the battery compartment during use and cleaning.

I anticipated this vibrator being a nightmare to clean, but it really isn't. The nubs are so soft, that as long as you soap them up and really move them around and push on them, they come clean fairly easily.

Only water based lubed should be used with this toy. Please avoid silicone lubes as they will react with the silicone of the toy and cause damage. The same goes for storage; store the G-Tickler somewhere it won't contact other silicone toys.

I store mine in the box it came it, and that seems to work out well.

Packaging

The G-Tickler comes in plastic tray, within a cardboard outer box. The box is quite bold, with bright red and black lettering on a white surface. It declares quite openly that inside the box there is a vibrator, so it isn't discreet. There are no instruction included, and aside from a few facts printed on the box, you care given very little information about use and care.

The box is decent for storage if you intend to put it in another larger toy bin, but it wouldn't be ideal for gifting or leaving out in the open.

Experience

Overall, this is a nice little toy. It's great that it's silicone, and it certainly has the zip to work for most users. It has a bit of noise, but I certainly wouldn't call it loud or distracting. The nubs are an interesting add on to the standard G-spot vibe, and they do add a different sensation.

I'm not a pattern lover, but if you enjoy patterns there are enough to satisfy. The steady patterns had enough variation to allow for changing things up in your session.

Although I prefer a rumble, this is one of the least annoying buzzy toys I've every used. It isn't a buzzy little bee like a bullet would be, offering more depth and pleasure. It's simply personal preference that I like a deeper rumble, and I can't hold that against this vibrator. What it does, it does well.

I'd say that this would be a nice first vibrator, because it allows you to try out internal and external stimulation, it's soft and flexible and has a decent amount of power. With the wide variety of ways to use it, if you decide it's not for you internally, you could always use it to tease your partner as a part of foreplay.
Follow-up commentary
Although the sensation is unique and interesting, the slightly more time that this one is to clean stops me from pulling it out to use more often. If you think you've tried it all, this might be a new thing to check off the list. But be warned, you need to clean it well.
