Good Enough to Eat

The Turbo Glider Raspberry Crush by California Exotics is a great waterproof traditional vibrator with just a bit of texture. It would be great for those who are experiencing their first vibrations or those who like nubs and pretty strong vibrations. It has a number of uses, as does any traditional vibrator, and it an be used in the water or on dry land.

Use

The Turbo Glider: Raspberry Crush is a traditional vibrator, meant for stimulation of the vaginal canal, clitoris, labia, or other erogenous zones. This is not meant for anal penetration whatsoever, as it has no truly flared base.

It does have a nice pinpoint tip, so clitoral stimulation is feasible and decent. The nubs on the sides also stimulate the labia and clitoris well. You might get some g-spot stimulation with the head, but it's not meant exclusively for that.

The toy is waterproof, so you can enjoy it anywhere.

Material / Texture

The Raspberry Crush is made of extremely hard, solid, smooth, translucent plastic. Plastic is odorless, nonporous, and phthalate-free. There are 2 groups of 16 (two rows of 5, one row of 6) nubs around the shaft about half an inch below the bottom ridge of the head. There is also a groove at the base of the toy, but it wasn't felt during penetration as this was too long.

This texture would be suitable for beginners, as it is not an extreme texture, though it does have the possibility of irritation.
    • Bumpy
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

The Raspberry Crush rates in at 7.25" in length, 6.5" of which is insertable. The head is about 1.25" in diameter. The shaft is nicely tapered, with the narrowest point being right under the head at 1" in diameter, and the widest point being near the bottom, at 1.25" in diameter. Overall, a slim toy that would be great for texture beginners. Speaking of texture, the nubs are raised about 1/16th of an inch, so they aren't extreme, but they are noticeable and can irritate. The groove mentioned above is a great spot to hold on to during thrusting.

The toy is a very nice shade of deep raspberry pink. The color seems to fade: it's deeper at the head, lighter in the middle, and deeper at the base. This may be an illusion, or may be connected to the thickness of the plastic.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls are a simple turn dial, which is the bottom 1/4" of the battery cap. The turn dial makes it multi-speed to an extent, though there are only about 3 distinguishable speeds. There are no patterns, nothing fancy about it and it's super easy to use. The vibrations are most prominent near the tip. The little mechanism that spins to create the vibration is visible through the plastic.

It's moderately loud. You won't hear it through a door, but you will probably hear it under a couple of blankets. It's also moderately powerful. It would be powerful enough for most users. The vibrations aren't surface-y or numbing, but more moderately deep. It's a very moderate kind of vibrator.

It's fairly easy to turn the dial during use, changing the speeds. This can be kind of annoying, but it's not a deal breaker. It takes two AA batteries, which fit in the battery cap and removable white tube which keep the batteries from rattling.

If you want to use the Raspberry Crush in the water, make sure the lid is totally tight and make sure to dry it out really well once you're done. During washing, with shallow submergence (maybe 6 inches), it held up fine during testing.

Care and Maintenance

Plastic is easy to care for. For normal maintenance, just wash it with hot water and soap, or rubbed down with a commercial toy cleaner. To moderately disinfect, it can be swapped with alcohol or a 10% bleach solution.

Storage is easy, too. Plastic doesn't pick up lint and it doesn't melt with materials, so it can be stored anywhere and in anything.

Any lube can be used with plastic.

Packaging

The Raspberry Crush comes in a plastic, clamshell-type package which opens from the top down. The toy is clearly visible in the package, and a very pretty woman (with no legs, mind you) pulling down her bra straps to expose her cleavage is on the front and back. It's not discreet, but it is utilitarian and alright for storage if you like. It's not very good for gift giving.

It comes with a little slip of paper indicating how to put in the batteries. On the toy itself is a gold sticker indicating not to use the product on swollen, inflamed, or erupted skin and to not use it on unexplained calf pain. This toy is made in China.

Personal comments

This toy would be great for those who love nubs or nodules, but that kind of texture just isn't my thing. My vaginal walls felt irritated after a period of thrusting this toy. It worked well clitorally for me, but vaginally it was just irritating and too slim. It was not my cup of tea, but I am sure that lots of people would enjoy this.

Objectively, this is a 4-star toy. It's well made, waterproof, fairly strong, and of a fairly safe material.
Subjectively, this might be a 2- or 3-star toy. I do appreciate that it's rigid and nonporous, and has good vibrations, but the bumps are not for me.
