Envie massager - g-spot and clitoral vibrator by NS Novelties - review by Sammi

The Envie, from NS Novelties, is a rabbit style vibrator meant to stimulate the clitoris and g-spot at the same time, and its finger-hole base allows for easy control while thrusting. Its gentle curve, moderate size, and long, flexible clitoral arm will allow it to work for a variety of anatomies. Since the vibrations are concentrated in the g-spot tip, users who enjoy more moderate vibrations on their clit will enjoy the Envie the most. Those who like the option of vibration patterns as well as steady vibrations may also like the Envie.

Envie could be used anally if desired, as the clitoral arm provides enough of a base for safety.

Envie is made of silicone (the upper part, button, and base accents) and ABS plastic (the base). Neither material has any odor, and both are non-porous, phthalates free, and latex free. The black silicone on the main body is smooth with a matte finish, and there are no visible seams. Envie is firm, with very little give when pressing on the surface. The silicone also doesn’t seem prone to picking up a lot of lint.

The only texture is on both the insertable head and the clitoral arm head; this texture comes in the form of an indentation causing a slight split in each head, and running some distance down the back of the shaft and the inner curve of the arm.

The black plastic base is shiny and fits flush with the bottom of the silicone body. On the base, the inside of the finger hole, the accent strip that displays the intensity and pattern, and the single control button are all a bright, pleasant, Kelly green silicone; an unusual color.

Envie has a sleek design similar to many non-rotating rabbits. It’s almost 8” long overall, and the shaft can be inserted about 4 1/2". The shaft is widest at the head, which has a 5” circumference, before narrowing down to about a 3 3/8” circumference at the bottom. The head is lightly split, which makes the head seem broader, although it doesn’t add to stimulation.

The clitoral arm is about 2 3/8” long measured from the inner curve, and it’s quite flexible; it can be bent out to almost a 90 degree angle away from the main shaft. This flexibility, coupled with the length, allows the clitoral arm to be positioned comfortably and reach where it’s intended to. The head of the clitoral arm features the same split in its head; it also doesn’t offer anything in the way of extra stimulation.

The base of Envie has something many vibrators and dildos could benefit from: a finger hole for control during use. The hole is about 1” in diameter, and is large enough for an index finger to fit into. The hole is lined with matte silicone to give your finger a better grip.

Envie can be tucked into carry-on or checked luggage for travel, but it’s best to remove the batteries beforehand. While the button isn’t overly easy to press, it could be jostled, turning Envie on while in transit.

Envie is powered by 2 AAA batteries. These are inserted by unscrewing the base and dropping the batteries in one at a time, + side first. The batteries are easy to insert, but are snug inside the toy; they’re easiest to remove by gently tapping Envie on your arm so that they slide out without difficulty.

Press the button once to turn Envie on. The accent groove around the handle lights up, and will glow and flash green according to the setting.

Envie features 7 modes of vibration and patterns:
- Low, steady vibration
- Medium, steady vibration
- High, steady vibration
- Pulse pattern
- 2 short and 1 long pulse
- Rev from low to hi
- Fast flutter, then long steady vibration

The patterns can be cycled by clicking the button, and Envie can be turned off by pressing and holding the button for 2 seconds.

The vibrations are concentrated in the main shaft and are strongest in the head. The clitoral piece carries the vibrations, but it’s nowhere near as strong as if it had a bullet inside of its own. The vibrations are moderately strong and feel more throbby than buzzy, especially on the pattern modes.

NS Novelties lists the sound level of Envie at less than 49 dB, which is lower than normal conversation level. It isn’t very loud at all – it won’t be overheard over the TV or music on low volume - and when it’s inserted you most definitely won’t be heard. The batteries have a use time of about 2 hours.

Envie is splashproof, so it should not be submerged or immersed in water when cleaning, although you can run it under the tap if you’re careful, making sure the base is securely closed. It can be cleaned before and after use with soap and water, then patted dry (never use alcohol or products containing acetone or petrol, as they will damage the surface). It should be completely dry before storing. Only waterbased lubes are recommended.

Envie can be stored in the box it comes in, or it can be stored in a toy bag. It’s best to remove the batteries before storing.

The Envie comes in a black outer box, with a picture of the product on the front and back. Information on the features and care instructions are also listed. Inside this box is another box, which shows the toy through a front window. The packaging is tasteful and can also be recycled.

Inside the box, Envie rests in a foam bed, and a small instruction book is included. The text in the manual is extremely small and may require a magnifying glass to read.

Envie has several things I like. I like the feel of the silicone, and the insertable length works for me. The finger hole is fantastic, and I really wish more toys had something similar. Whether I’m the one thrusting or manipulating or my husband is, a hole makes it so much easier to control, even if our hands are covered with lube. This isn’t a toy that I thrust much with, but just the subtle wiggling and short in/out motions are so much easier to accomplish.

I also like how flexible the clitoral arm is, and how long it is – this is a problem on many rabbits I’ve tried: either the arm is much too short to do any good or it’s not flexible enough for me to situate it where I need it to be.

For 2 AAA batteries, Envie has a decent amount of power internally, and I like the patterns, particularly the pulsing. They are somewhat throbby, which I like inside. What I don’t like as much is the lack of a bullet in the clitoral arm. The silicone transmits the vibrations from the bullet in the head down into the arm, but they’re nowhere near as strong as if there was a bullet in the arm as well. I could get off with Envie, and it helped to put some pressure on the arm, but I really could have used stronger vibrations on my clit. That being said, when Envie was used for the second or later rounds after I was quite aroused, the vibrations were more than enough.
