Hands Free, But Not So Fun

Overall I was very disappointed with the Lover's Arousal. I used it a few times and it has since been stowed away and I'm not sure I will ever feel the need to take it out again.

Use

The Lover's Arousal is a hands free, butterfly shaped, clitoral vibrator that can be used virtually anywhere and at anytime. It can be used solo for self pleasure, or with a partner during intercourse or other sexual activities. This toy is control by remote and is intended for the vaginal area only.

Material / Texture

The Lover's Arousal is made from a jelly material, it has ribs and grooves on it which helps add extra stimulation to the vaginal area. It has 3 elastic straps to help position the toy, and it has a short but sturdy cord that goes into a battery pack. The battery pack is made of hard plastic and allows you to adjust the vibration speed / intensity via a turn dial. There is not much of a taste to this toy, however, it has an awful chemical smell to it. I've used and washed the toy numerous times but the smell still seems to be lingering.

Design / Shape / Size

The Lover's Arousal is soft blue in colour and shaped like a butterfly. It has three straps attached to it for hands free play. From what I can gather, one strap goes on each of your upper legs and the other strap should be fastened around your waist. The straps are fastened around you by snaps and are made of an elastic material. They are not adjustable, they just stretch as you need them to. The stretch in the straps was great, I am a lot bigger than the woman pictured on the box (around a size 12) and there was still lots of give in them as I was wearing it.

I didn't like the design of the Lover's Arousal because of the way the straps were. I found it hard to understand how they were supposed to go and am still not sure if I had them exactly right. The straps also didn't seem to keep the toy in position so I found myself holding it which defeats the hands-free feature of the toy.

Lover's Arousal is blue in colour and about 3 1/4" in length, 3 3/4" wide and weighs 0.5 lb. I actually found the wings of the butterfly too wide. It seemed to be massaging my groin area more so than my vagina. I don't think it is good to be marketed as a sex toy, however, I'm sure it may be good to massage other areas such as your back or neck even tough it would probably look humorous.

The cord used to attach the buttery to the battery pack is about 2ft long which makes it easy find or hold the control pack. in my personal experience I held the control pack, however, it could be lieft tucked into the leg / waist strap on on the surface beside you.

I would say that this toy would be good for beginners in the sense that the vibrations are low and continuous. It would be a great introductory toy to a vibrator. I think the more advanced or experienced person would want more powerful vibrations.

I wouldn't say this toy is very discreet or easy for travel. i think that if someone saw it they would definitely wonder what it was and could probably figure it out on it's own. The battery pack and straps are kind of a giveaway in that aspect.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy did not perform well for me at all. The straps were very hard to figure out and the toy did not stay in place well. Labelling the straps somehow may aid in people getting maximum pleasure from it. Most times when using this I need to physically hold the toy in place with my hand which defeats the purpose of having hands free vibrator. The noise level as at a minimum though, you wouldn't be able to hear it through a door, so public play would be easy with this one.

The controls of the Lover's Arousal are very simple to use, and easy to hold. The control panel / battery pack is attached to the bullet inside butterfly with a cord. The bullet is fully enclosed in the butterfly and cannot be removed. To turn the vibrator on and increase the vibration strength you simply turn a dial on the side. To turn it off you turn the dial in the opposite direction. There is a bar showing you which way to turn the dial. I find that the toy eats batteries, it is almost impossible to keep fresh ones in and as the batteries weaken so do the vibrations -- and they weren't much to start with. The vibrations were barely a tease, and I was definitely not able to finish using this toy.\ nor do I think it would be good for use during intercourse or walking around as the straps did not hold a tight fit.

Lover's Arousal is powered by two 'aa' batteries, which are inserted by removing a backing plate (like the back of a remote control for a tv) and inserted as the picture shows.

This toy is not recommended for use in water or to be shared with other partners.

Care and Maintenance

Caring and maintenance for the Lover's Arousal is quite simple. I wash it wish warm water before and after each use and pat it dry with a soft towel. Due to the ribs and nubs in the toy you should take your time when cleaning.

I keep the Lover's arousal in my night stand, and always remove the batteries after use (this is not mandatory, I tend to do it with every battery operated toy). Because of the Lover's Arousal material (jelly) it is not recommended that you share it with other people. If lubricant is being used it is recommended that you use a water or silicone based.

Packaging

The packaging for this product was a blue box with a photo of a woman using the toy and a man standing behing her. There was a clear plastic window near the centre of the box that showed only the butterfly portion of the toy. Another plastic window was displayed towards the bottom right with the battery / control mechanism showing.

There was definitely not enough instructions in this box. I often glanced at the picture on it to try and figure things out. I think a user guide implemented into the packaging would be beneficial.

Follow-up commentary
I still haven't been able to use the Lover's Arousal properly. I've tried multiple times. It's definitely not for me.

Reallu nice review. I am sorry it did not work out well for you. I have something similar (venus penis) that I adore. Its made by the same company and has the same straps, but its not hard to figure out at all.

I have two similar toys, one worked for me, and one didn't. I think it all depends on the person and the toy. It's hard to find ones that fit for the right people.

I'm beginning to think that there isn't a strap-on type vibrator that actually works the way it's intended to! Seems a shame. Thanks for the review

Airen Wolf - This is the first one I've tried, however, from talking with other women that seems to be the case. Very few say they have tried one and it worked lie it should. I am hoping to find one though. I like the idea of hands-free.
