iRide - rabbit vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by Red Vinyl Kitty

The iRide is something that my husband had been eyeing for a while. He has a big kink for fucking machines, and this is probably the closest we were going to get to one, given the price of most of them. We tried this out in several positions, and in several different ways and all of them were incredibly painful and no fun for me at all.

The iRide is a toy shaped like a semi-circle, and the main purpose of the toy is to ride on it. You can squat on it, put it on a chair and lean against the back rest, use it laying down, use it while you give your partner oral, rock on a bed, the possibilities are endless really. My husband even managed to tie this to by body while I was hanging from the ceiling in the Pleasure Swing. I have even read reviews from a male perspective saying that this is fun to use anally, but I'm a female so I am not going to write from that perspective. If you're a guy interested in using this for that purpose, you will definitely want to read some more reviews.

The iRide is equipped with two vibrating pieces, the clitoral bump, and the dildo. They both vibrate and you can activate them each separately.

I had a couple of problems with this toy. One of them is the clitoral bump - for me, it was too hard. It's very solid and if the toy is pressed too deeply against my body this is just downright painful. My clit has never been good at taking too much pain, so this was just no fun for me. The other thing I had an issue with was the dildo. I'm not entirely sure why but it always hurt me inside and my vagina aches for a few hours each time I use this. It's very uncomfortable, unsexy, and no fun.

The iRide is made from two materials, ABS plastic, and TPR silicone. The TPR is soft and has a matte texture. You will likely want to use a bit of lubricant with this to ease insertion. I think that beginner and advanced users could both use this, so long as they found the rock-hard clitoral nub to be comfortable.

I did not notice any smell coming off the toy and there was no taste to it either.

I really like the IDEA of the iRide. The concept behind it is wonderful, but honestly, in actual use there are some things I would have definitely done differently. For starters, a softer clitoral nub would have made this much more comfortable. The dildo is in a bad spot for my anatomy as well, I find that it pinches my insides and when I'm done playing I feel hurt and am usually pretty sore and red in my nether regions. This always goes away after a couple of hours, but I still cannot think of a good reason to want to be in that kind of discomfort.

The toy is 13" long, 6" wide, and about two pounds. I find the dimensions for the toy are pretty comfortable, and my issue is really where the dildo sits and the hardness of the clitoral bump.

As for hiding this toy, good luck. You may be able to slide it under a bed or something, but if you're trying to be discreet this isn't exactly the sort of thing you can store away in a drawer or something. My husband and me are not discreet people, but even we had a bit of a hard time storing it. Because of the size, I do not recommend this for travel.

I did like the way you turn the toy on and off. Right in front of the iRide there are two buttons. One of them controls the nub, and the other the dildo. The vibrations of the toy are in the dildo and nub only, and don't travel well to other areas. The three speeds of the toy start off at a 1 in intensity, go to a 2, and the highest setting is about a 3. All the patterns are just steady vibrations. The fact that the toy is hands free makes it easy to just reach down in front of you and adjust the vibrations with the click of a button. In order to turn the toy off, you've got to cycle through all three speeds.

The toy runs on four AA batteries which do not come with it. It is recommended you take the batteries out after use.

Another good thing about the iRide is that it is very quiet. I didn't notice the sounds very much at all when the toy was inside me, and even when the toy was not inside me the noise level was minimal.

The iRide is NOT waterproof, so it is best that you keep it outside of water. Cleaning can be a bit tricky, but I'll get to that later.

The iRide is made from ABS plastic and TPR. The dildo and seat of the toy are all cusihoned with TPR. This makes the seat of the toy comfortable to sit on, while the ABS plastic makes the toy far sturdier than the TPR alone would be. I'm 5'2", 145 pounds, and I found that the iRide supported me with no problems.

When it comes to cleaning, this part can get a bit tricky. The iRide is NOT waterproof, and the dildo is not 100% flush up against the side of the seat. The problem is this: (and it's a bit hard to describe so bear with me) basically, the dildo is a separate piece that was fitted into the iRide. There is a very small gap between the iRide and its dildo which you only really notice if you are twisting the flexible dildo at all, or cleaning the toy. I was always a little bit worried that lubricants were going to slide down in there and cleaning the toy made me worry just as much.

What I wound up doing is whenever I was done using my toy I brought it to the kitchen sink. (The toy will not fit in my bathroom sink, but that depends entirely on the size of your sink!) and I used a damp washcloth to wipe the toy down with antibacterial toy cleaner and then soap and water. I would towel dry and put this back in our play room.

The iRide contains TPR, so any sort of silicone based lubricant is not recommended. Stick with water based.

The iRide comes in a giant box which has a little window in the front. The box is not discreet and shows various cartoon girls using the toy in many different ways. There were no instructions at all included in the box. While the box itself is rather sturdy, I don't recommend it for storage because it has a window in the front which I think wouldn't hold up as well as the cardboard part of the box over time.

I really wanted to like this toy. I did a lot of research before buying it, and while I was worried about the clitoral nub, I was pretty confident that I'd be able to adjust accordingly. The biggest complaint I have is that for some reason the dildo itself always tears me up inside and it pinches when I try to ride in any position. I was usually able to use this for a couple of minutes with very little pain but after that it got uncomfortable to downright painful quickly. We tried everything, airborn iRide (in a sex swing), during oral, even turning the toy around, but each time this was just painful and no fun for me.

One thing we tried which I didn't mention was to put the iRide in the bottom curvy edge of the Liberator Flip Ramp and use the top slope of the ramp to brace myself while I rocked in the groove of the ramp. I think that if you enjoy the hard nub and placement of the dildo, this would work for many - but it was just as painful for me as other positions.
