Hit me with your best spot!

This is a very cute little clitoral vibrator. It's got a nice matte finish, fun colors, and provides gentle vibration great for teasing. People used to stronger sensations will be find them lacking here, but this one is a great first vibe or gift.

Pros:
Adorable, many color options, nice texture, gentle, splash resistant, non-porous, easy to clean
Cons:

useful review
First impression--this vibe is downright adorable. It is ergonomically shaped, fits nicely in the hand, and has a matte finish that is soft and pleasant to the touch. There is no smell that I can detect. It looks kinda like some cute aliens mistakenly left behind their remote control or something. Plus, so many really cool color options--almost makes me want more than one! I can't say that about many toys. The construction is solid and the overall presentation makes this more than the everyday vibrator, but rather the kind that you would be happy to give or receive as a gift.

With it's diminutive size (plus the battery cap on one end and the control buttons on the other) it is clearly intended as an external vibrator, which is all good in my book. I would not recommend trying to insert it anywhere. The blunt tip closest to the buttons (opposite end from the battery cap) provides a very nice sensation on the skin and a good surface area that will be suitable for a wide range of body types. You can adjust the strength of vibration with the plus and minus buttons, or use the pulsating mode.

My major gripe with this toy, and the reason that I wouldn't want it as my sole vibrator, is plain and simple: power. Using only 2 AAA batteries, the LAYAspot lacks some juice. I would classify it as a low to medium strength vibrator at best. If you are looking for that first toy to get you started or you are super sensitive and want something that is very gentle, then this would be perfect. However, someone used to other toys and a variety of sensations, including strong ones, might get frustrated.

Other possible uses: to tease your partner with maddeningly gentle vibration or to retrain your bits to respond to subtler sensations. If you use nothing but this, your body will adapt eventually.

At 4 inches, this toy is very compact and perfect for traveling. It isn't overtly phallic like some vibes, which adds a touch of discreetness (though anyone vaguely familiar with toys will probably be able to guess what it is). It is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and easily cleaned (I use anti-bacterial wipes rather than soap and water, make sure you remove the batteries first). I have heard alternating reports about whether or not this toy is waterproof or just splash-proof. Personally, I don't take anything with batteries into the bathtub, but this works fine the shower. Especially because the matte surface is less slippery when wet and easier to hold on to. Just make sure you let it dry completely afterwards; once again, with the batteries out.

If you choose to use lube with it, I would stick with water-based and avoid silicone. This vibrator is made with elastomer and I have seen silicone lube damage elastomer toys before.
Follow-up commentary
I've been asked whether or not this vibrator could be used during intercourse: yes, of course it can. Whether or not it covers your orifices is entirely determined by how you hold it. You can press the tip against your clit and there will still be plenty of room for penetration. The only way it would block access would be if you pressed the entire length of the toy against your vulva.

I should also mention that this is a very well-constructed, long lasting toy. The one I have is over 3 years old and shows no signs of quitting. I have never had a vibe in this price range last nearly that long.

Thanks for the review. I think I'm un-wish listing this one at only two vrooms...

Nice review! I haven't got too high a vibe requirement... but in use, does this block the vaginal opening? Or can you use this while you're being penetrated?

Great review! Too bad about the weak vibrations, for that price I'd be highly pissed so I better pass. I was hoping to find a good little vibe like this and I believe MiMi would be a much bettter choice for me as of right now. Thanks for a really great review!

I would definitely add some more information. I didn't find this review to have enough info to make me not want to buy the toy or want to buy it. I'm a little confused about it. Like Antipova asked, does it block the vaginal opening and could it easily be used during intercourse? Those are always big questions for me. Otherwise, nice review

@Antipova whether or not it blocks the vagina would depent completely on how low you hold it. It is entirely possible to set it to the speed you want and then hold the blunt tip (the end closest to the buttons) to your clit. No blocking, could be used during intercourse. It would only block if you pressed the entire length of the toy against yourself.

@SecretToyLover Thanks for the feedback! Aside from Antipova's question, what do you feel is missing? I am planning on doing a follow up.

I'm glad to hear that it lasts so long, that speaks a little bit about its quality, I think.

not sure but we have the Laya and the better than chocolate ( the music ed) both have their good points, but the laya is a little smaller and compact. Both were really well tho and the music seting is fun feature!

So my partner and i decided to check out this site and order a bunch of new items. I just ordered the LAYAspot and it should be here friday! Ehh i cant wait! How does everyone feel about this cute toy?
    • reading the MANY many reviews on the toy will give you a good idea about the overall feelings and consensus of the toys.
    • it's nice that there are so many user submitted reviews on this site. it's so hard to choose a toy, especially an expensive one, with only the manufacturer description.

  • LayaSpot Questions
    • So, I just posted a review of this toy on my blog and and am rereading some reviews here. I am seeing some discrepencies and have a few questions for you.

Some reviewers state that this is a waterproof toy but my instructions clearly state that it is only splashproof. Perhaps the instructions have changed? Maybe Fun Factory decided it wasn't really waterproof? If you have this toy, what did your instructions say?

Furthermore, a few people said that they received silicone based BodyFluid with their LayaSpot but I received their water based lube and, again, my instructions said not to use silicone based lube (I believe, can't find them).

Also, I think it's just me but my Layaspot pretty much smelled god awful when I got it. Anyone else?

Just looking for different experiences with these things..

I've heard that fun factory toys can stink to high heaven, and I have no idea why they would because they're supposed to be 100% silicone. I have other silicone toys and they don't smell at all. Maybe it's not the toy itself but the packaging that surrounds it? Sorry I'm not much help, but the smell that people talk about with FF toys is enough for me to be wary of buying one.

I have since pitched my instructions, but I think mine said splashproof rather than waterproof. I got the Toyfluid (water-based) lube, and mine was smell-free! All of my FF toys have been totally odorless, actually.
