Freestyle G-Spot by OhMiBod - review by Tori Rebel

The OhMiBod Freestyle G is a new twist on the original music driven Freestyle vibrator. It can be used on any of the seven vibration patterns or in tune to your favorite songs on an Mp3 player or other music producing device. It can also be listened to through either headphones or speakers from the other end of the transmitter so you can enjoy your music in more ways than one.

This toy can easily be used by singles or couples alike, and while it is designed for penetration and g-spot stimulation, the curve works equally well for clitoral stimulation or teasing other erogenous zones. It is not at all intended for anal insertion as it lacks a flared base for safety.

Not only would it make a great gift for any sex toy lover, it would be even better for any audiophile on your list.

The vibrator itself is constructed of sturdy PU coated plastic. This is also known as velvet cote. It is hard and rigid but the matte finish is perfectly smooth and has very little drag against the skin. It is also non-porous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and latex free.

When the box is first opened, the toy does have a slight plastic-y odor. It dissipates quickly once the toy is out of the box and washed for the first time though so it should not be considered a deterrent.

Although the plain finish to this toy offers no additional stimulation or texture, it does lend well to gliding across wet or dry flesh and being inserted with ease.

The Freestyle G is 7" long with 4.5" of that being insertable. It measures 1.25" across and just under 4" around. The entire body is dark pink ABS plastic, save for a ring of chrome colored plastic near the bottom where the base twists to control the settings. The very bottom has a plug-covered port for charging and there is a soft plastic backlit +/- button below the chrome ring to control the speeds as well. The twisting base is stiff to spin, but that adds a benefit to the toy as it cannot be turned on by accident as long as it is set to the off position.

At the very top of the toy, is a small curve with a rounded tip meant for g-spot stimulation. While it will prove functional and pleasurable for most, those that are normally sensitive to g-spot toys due to the point of the tip or the curve catching on the pubic bone, this toy should only be an issue to the most sensitive users of all; the tip is round enough and the curve gentle enough that it will work fine with the vast majority of female bodies. In fact, the toy is designed in such a way that the vibrations transfer very well to the rounded tip, making ideal for those still not entirely capable of easily reaching their g-spot. The size of the tip is highly effective and the range of vibrations only aid in its ability to transmit pleasure.

The width, length, and shape of this toy make it compatible with any couple or solo user. It is neither too thick, too thin, too short, or too long. It is easy to hold and control while using it on yourself or a partner.

The Freestyle G offers two options for use.

First, it can be used on any of the 7 vibration patterns. To do this, simply twist the bottom until the arrow above the +/- button is under the ((7)). Once there, simply press the + button to cycle through the patterns which are as follows:

1. low vibration
2. medium vibration
3. high vibration
4. low to high escalation
5. moderate pulsing
6. fast pulsing
7. quick-quick-long pattern

To cycle backward, simply press the - button. Unfortunately, there is no way to cycle from pattern 7 to 1 easily or to turn it off using the button; to turn the vibrations off, simply twist the arrow back to the square symbol.

The other, and admittedly more interesting option is to use the music function. To use this, you first have to plug your Mp3 or other music device (basically anything with a headphone jack) into the white wireless transmitter using the cord attached to the transmitter. You can then attach headphones or speakers to the other side of the wireless transmitter if you like. Once that is done, spin the arrow to the music note, turn the music on, and spin the dial on the side of the transmitter. The vibrator will not only transmit the vibrations from the music, but you can, using the dial on the transmitter, indicate how strong of an effect you want the toy to take from the music. This means you can choose for it to pick up on only the loudest strongest sounds, or to vibrate more strongly and consistently.

Since most users will be listening to music while listening to this toy, sound may not be the biggest factor for everyone interested in it. It is not the quietest toy on the market but it's not remarkably loud either. If the user is wearing headphones, they will not be distracted by the sound at all. However, if the toy is used in a shared living situation, the sound of the toy can be drowned out with a thick comforter and a closed door. It cannot be easily disguised in the same room with another person however.

This toy is simple to care for. It can be used with any lubricant without fear of damaging the material. It can also be washed with any toy cleaner or mild soap and water and air dried or dried with a towel. The material does not collect lint or fuzz at all.

Since this toy is rechargable, you will want to charge it before using it the first time to get a full experience. To charge, simply plug the charger into the port at the very base of the vibrator. The light on the +/- button will flash the entire time it is charging. The charge will hold for several hours so the user can get plenty of enjoyment from this toy before recharging.

The charging port has a small rubber plug that fits over it to protect it when not charging. While it does cover the hole, it is not meant to be 100% watertight and it is not recommended that this toy be submerged. It is marketed by the manufacturer as splashproof but does come with a warning to be sure that the toy is not placed directly into a water situation. This means that some careful shower play should be fine, but bath use is completely out of the question.

The Frestyle G comes in more updated packaging than the original Freestyle. It comes in a heavy white cardboard box with an image and the name of the toy on the front. It is classy, elegant, highly gift-able, and not at all risque besides depicting a vibrator.

Inside the box, first lies a thick detailed manual for both the Freestyle original and Freestyle G since the functionality of both toys is nearly identical. Underneath that, inside a molded plastic tray, is the vibrator, the charger, the wireless transmitter, an AUX transmitter cord, and the AAA batteries for the transmitter.

Since the box is not overly large and there are so many parts to this toy, it is well suited for storage. Unlike the original Freestyle, the Freestyle G does not come with a separate storage case.

I now own both the Freestyle and the Freestyle G. I honestly can't say which I prefer since their functionality is so similar, just the shape and packaging are different, and although they both have their own use, the average toy user (read: anyone who is not an obsessive toy collector) can probably get by with just one or the other. I do highly recommend you try one or the other though, as there is really nothing else out there like it, the quality is incredible, and the range of what it can do for you is limited only by all of the music in the world. If it is within your means, I can't stress enough that this line of toys is entirely worth it, and is easily within my top 5 favorite toys of all time. The only con I can even think of for this toy is that it is not able to be submerged under water. Quite frankly, since I don't take my Mp3 player into the shower or tub with me, having a vibrator that was entirely waterproof woudn't really offer any benefit to me.

The G-spot curve on this toy worked very well for me. It's not too pointed so as to be painful but still easily noticeable. I am also fairly sensitive to g-spot toys catching on my pubic bone and even with quick short thrusts, there was no incidence of that because of the wide scoop shape of the curve.

For those looking for an extra sensory experience, I have found that turning the lights down while using this toy adds another dynamic to the experience. The small light under the +/- button lights up in sync with the vibrations based on the music, and if used in a dark room, the light seems very bright. Being in a dark room and hearing, feeling, and seeing a representation of the music can make the experience all the more intense.

Everyone's taste in music and in vibrations will differ, and each person should explore what will work for them best, but if you're looking for a place to start, might I simply say this: Creedence Clearwater Revival has never felt soooo good.
