Couture collection Rhythm - rabbit vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Carrie Ann

I was all set to love the Couture Collection Rhythm. I, after all, love all my Couture Collection pieces, full sized and petite alike and was most impressed with the Melody rabbit style I already have.

But, alas, it was not meant to be. The Rhythm simply doesn't work with my anatomy; the shaft is too long, the clitoral stimulator too short, too pokey and positioned too low on the shaft.

The Rhythm, like all the Couture Collection pieces, is 100% silicone. It's nearly eleven inches long, though only 5.25 of those are insertable. The rest is battery pack and the base of the toy where the clit stimulator attaches. The silicone is plush but firm and relatively matte in finish. The shaft is 1.5 inches in diameter so it's nicely girthy without being over large for most users.

The Rhythm runs on three AAA batteries that insert via a harness that is easy to remove. Simply unscrew the cover of the battery pack and the battery holding harness lifts out. Insert your batteries as the markings instruct, then reinsert the entire harness and rescrew the cap on tightly. The cap does have an o-ring to seal the compartment, making it waterproof for use in the shower, bath or to clean it well without fear of ruining the electrical components.

This dual stimulator is controlled via light up push buttons in the battery pack; a dedicated on off button, a button to control vibrations in the clitoral stimulator and a button to control rotation in the shaft. The shaft does not vibrate, only rotates.

Rotation has three speeds; high, medium and low. Vibration has three steady speeds - again, high, medium and low - as well as 4 patterns of escalation and pulsation. Rotation is nice and, due to the slight curve at the top of the shaft, feels quite a bit like a crooked finger, easily stimulating your g-spot if positioned properly. Vibration is quite strong, though on the "thuddy" side to to the density of the silicone.

I enjoyed using the shaft of this toy for it's rotation and for thrusting quite a bit. It's thick and firm yet has enough give to feel on the realistic side. It's tulip shape and ridging can be felt, yet are not obtrusive or "too much".

For me, the clitoral stimulator is where this toy fails. It is set fully at the bottom of the tulip ridged shaft and, while it looks as though it would cup the clitoris and give broad vibrations thru it's entirety, I can only manage to make the pointed tip hit my clitoris. This, to me, feels painful. I cannot get any pressure so it's simply a madly vibrating slim tip aggravating my clit.

In order to even reach your clitoris you also need to be able to insert the full five inches of the shaft and, for me, this isn't comfortable. It places the rotations at my cervix rather than my g-spot and is uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. This, of course, is completely anatomy dependent and will be different for everyone.

If it worked for me, this would be an excellent toy. The vibrations are wonderful, the rotations superb. It's also amazingly quiet. It just doesn't quite fit.

Clean up is easy, especially since it's waterproof. Soap and water works fine or, if you're sharing or simply wish to sanitize fully, use a ten percent bleach solution. Do not boil or put this one in the dishwasher, however, as the heat my effect the motor negatively.

Use only water based lubes unless you patch test an inconspicuous spot on the toy as silicone lubes can have an adverse reaction to silicone toys.

Packaging is neither tacky nor luxurious; a simple white box, quite oversized, with pictures of the toy and a stream of water, as well as some info about the toy itself. Keep it if you have room to store your toy in it. If not, I suggest storing away from jelly and jelly like materials that may react badly (read melt) if left in contact with each other. I store mine with my other silicone toys (all brands) and have no issue.

The Rhythm, while well made and sure to last forever -- in fact, it still looks and performs exactly as it did when I got it -- just isn't ever going to fit my body.

For those with a deeper vaginal canal or a clitoris that is closer to their vagina, it is probably awesome. For me? Even after countless attempts, it just doesn't do it.
