I Love You, Iris!

Iris is overall an awesome buy. There are a few issues with her, but nothing that takes away from her awesomeness. She is amazing at G-Spotting and external vibrations. However some might find the curve not to work for them or the price to be just to much. I still highly recommend Iris and love how well she works for me.

Pros
Well made, ergonomic, beautiful, rechargeable, comes with 1 year warranty, and 10 year guarantee.
Cons
Should be waterproof for that price, which is expensive, and confusing controls.

Use

Iris is a vibrator designed to reach your G-Spot. The curve allows the vibrator to press up against the vaginal walls in hopes that it hits your magic zone. The vibrations can be used to stimulate external places as well, like clitoris, nipples, base of the penis, testicles, or anywhere else you would like. The handle of this vibrator allows you to keep a very good grip onto the toy, so if you want to use it anally it is possible, however you will want to keep a good grip. Due to the fact that this toy can be used anally and vaginally, it can be enjoyed by men and women, however the design would most likely be more appealing to those who like more feminine colors. Depending on your size preference and your anatomy, this toy is most likely not going to work right for double penetration, but with the handle it is easy to be controlled by a partner.

Material / Texture

This beauty is made of two great materials plastic and silicone. The handle and buttons are made of plastic. The plastic white or silver, shiny, smooth, and well constructed. There is no smell or taste to this plastic. Plastic is also latex free, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and non porous, which contributes to the level 8 in safety rating. The insertable part is made of silicone. The silicone can be pink or blue, depending on which you purchased. The feeling is amazingly soft. There is no drag what so ever to Iris. I can compared her feel to Mimi, but both of these make my nerves cringe. It is almost chalky feeling or like flour on your hands, however this is starting not to bother me as much. There is a slight smell to the silicone part, but it just smells new. The smell does not transfer over to taste either. Silicone is latex free, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and non porous, which add up to a level 10 in safety. It does tend to collect a fair amount of lint.

The added texture to Iris is visually appealing, but for use I could not tell it was there. If you are texture sensitive this is probably not for you and if you are a texture lover this might not be what you are looking for. I did not find the texture to add anything to insertion, but everyone is different. The added texture is two petals that V to the second petal, however there are two different sets of these. One is closest to the head and very slight and the second is in the middle, but more defined. The second one is raised 1/8". Sometimes juices can get collected by the texture.

The texture would be fine for any level of user.

Design / Shape / Size

Iris is just beautiful. The color does not match the product page, which is pictured much more of a pastel pink. Using this color chart, the product page has Iris being more Rose pink and my Iris is more Tutti Fruiti pink. I am not sure if this bothers me or not, while I like both colors I think I would of rather had the really light pink color, but this is still really pretty. For those interested in the blue color check out Shellz31's Review.

Iris is a luxury vibrator, so with the cost you get high quality design; at least you hope. I am not disappointed with much of the design. My only complaint is the cover to protect the rechargeable hole. The rest of the design is perfect for me.

Iris starts as a 5.25" silicone insertable shaft; which is the part you pick the color for. There is a slight seam that runs around the toy, but this is very faint. At the head of the shaft is very slight impression of two petals which V together and makes the top of the head look like a bulb bursting out. Then in the middle of the shaft is another set of petals that V together, but these are more defined, raising 1/8". The shaft is connected to the white handle by a plastic silver piece. The handle makes Iris total 9", however she curves. The curve is located more in the center of the 9". The largest circumference on this toy is located at the head of the shaft; which is 4.5" (1.5" diameter), but the shaft slenders down to 4" circumference (1.25" diameter.) The handle has a button located in the center; which looks like a four way button on a game controller (up, down, left, and right.) And around this button is an LED light; which lights up clear. Underneath this button and at the very tip of the handle is a flip cover that says "LELO" is where the adapter plugs into.

The size would not be ideal for your first toy, but it would work for a beginner too. The size is suitable for travel and easy to hide in the pouch that came with.

There will be more about my experience of Iris in the Experience section, but I am pleased with her.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I have to admit to being confused on the controls until Shellz31's review. They are hard to figure out at first, but you will get the hang of it. The button looks like a four way button a game controller; up, down, left, and right, but it is up, down, left is minus(-), and right is plus (+). When you click the buttons the LED light that is around the button lights up, but doesn't stay on for use.

Plus/Minus (+/-)
The plus and the minus signs are the left and right buttons. These are to control the speed. There are 7 total.

Up/Down (^/v)
The up and down button are up and down. These are to control the pattern. There are 4 total. The pattern choices are as follow:

1. Doesn't require you hitting up or down, but steady vibrations.
2. One click up, which is steady vibrations you can feel pulsate through the shaft.
3. Two clicks up, which is a pulsation of something beating.
4. Three clicks, which is a pulsation that thuds.

When these are on low they are hardly felt, but as you go up there is a good amount of power. The vibrations are deep and rumbly especially the setting that thuds. They are not super quiet until you insert the toy, then there is no sound to be heard. You should be good behind closed doors and under the covers with this toy.

Iris is rechargeable which initially takes 30 minutes to charge her. Once she is charge she is ready to go on for days of decent use. I have used her 4 times, about 25 minutes each use and she is still on the first charge, but not showing signs of weakening. You have 56" of a wire to work with for charging.

Sadly, Iris is not waterproof, so you will want to be careful even washing her.

Care and Maintenance

Iris is best to be cleaned with toy wipes or a bleach solution and wipe, since she is not waterproof you will want to be careful of the controls getting wet. It would be a shame damaging such a beauty.

I have currently been storing my Iris in the original package, since it is so pretty. I hate to part with it, but it does come with a pouch for storage.

Silicone is compatible with water based lubes, but some may choose to spot test with silicone based lubes, however this could damage your toy, so be careful and pick a spot near the silver piece. This is so it doesn't effect the use of the toy.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging itself is beautiful It comes in a box colored to the choice you picked (pink or blue) for your toy. There is the toy pictured on the box, but when you open this box there is another box inside. If you are gifting, get raid of that first box and you have a suitable gift. The second box is all black, saying LELO on it. The lead comes completely off and your toy is placed in foam. Your charger is underneath the black cardboard piece and the pouch and manuals are underneath the foam. You get a black silk non padded pouch for storage. This is large enough for Iris, charger, and manuals.

I have attached some photos, showing how mine came. It had black, fuzzy, and sticky stuff around the handle. I believe this to be from the foam packaging. This did not effect it's use and came right off with my nails and some alcohol on a Q tip.

    • Good for storage
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

Iris comes with a 1 year limited warranty. This will not cover water damage, but any defects to the item. You must go to their website and register the product. It also comes with a 10 year product guarantee; which means should anything go wrong they will figure it out and offer 50% off your next purchase, but you have to send them your Iris. They also say that they will dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.

Experience

I find that just G-Spotting is not enough for me. I prefer to use Iris with my We-Vibe Salsa, since I need clitoral stimulation. Iris' vibrations externally can bring me to orgasm, but since they are mostly felt all over the shaft, they are more suited for internal use. The curve is a prefect fit for me. I do have an extremely shallow G-Spot, but it hits mine every time. Inserting can be hard at first, since the top is not tapered enough.

When I use Iris and Salsa it allows me to have a full on G-Spot orgasm and a clitoral orgasm, which causes me to squirt. Now this may not happen for everyone, I seem to be able to squirt more than most women can, so this is not the secret formula to squirting for everyone. However finding the right clitoral vibe and G-Spot vibe for you, might do the trick.
Follow-up commentary
I did enjoy my Iris, but she has found her way to a new home in exchange for another toy. Check Out The Toy Swap Thread.

My main issue with her is that she isn't waterproof. That is a huge issue for me. Because I squirt. If I happen to squirt, I could have ruined the beautiful toy.

I haven't bought another Lelo toy because most of them aren't waterproof. I NEED this function in a toy. So, for the most part, Lelo doesn't measure up to my needs.

My Iris didn't have any damage to it. She would make a great toy who anyone who doesn't need waterproof in a toy.
