I'm Hunting Rabbits

My rabbit hunt continues—the Waterproof Jack Rabbit is not a bad toy over all, but despite its good points it just doesn't do it for me.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect rabbit vibe for years. The California Exotics waterproof Jack Rabbit is the most recent I have tried, and by all accounts it is solidly decent. It does not, as some I have tried, eat batteries for breakfast, which is a plus. It is waterproof, but that is not an issue for me—I prefer to have my rabbit-hunting fun in bed, not in the bath.

I am not a fan of the jelly material of which it is made. It's difficult to keep clean and even once I've cleaned it, it seems to attract dust, cat hair, and anything else that may be lurking around like a magnet … ew! Since I'm quite sensitive to the material, I use a condom over it and that is tolerable and makes it easier to keep clean. It is a firmer, less squishy jelly than the material with which many dildos and butt plugs are made. I bought it mistakenly thinking it was vinyl or plastic, but the faint chemical smell (definitely not as bad as some jelly toys, though!) gave it away to me.

The rotating steel nubs (I can't think of a better thing to call them) feel nice but to be honest if you are at all muscular down there, you may want to just not bother with it—a good hard internal squeeze can stall the motor on this thing. The motor which drives the squirming action is easy to break, and once broken cannot be fixed, so buyer beware on that front.

Like most rabbit vibes, it is INCREDIBLY loud, but I have found that most of the noise factor comes from the squirmy bit which, thankfully, can be turned off. If you are just using the vibration function, it's actually rather quieter than other vibes I've used. This is NOT the toy for you, though, if you want full-on squirmy, vibrating action and you have nosy roommates, live with your parents, or don't want your girlfriend to know you're into toys, for example.

All in all, I think this toy was somewhat of a wash for me. I use it mostly for the rabbit when I use it at all, and to be honest I have a bullet vibe with a rabbit sheath that does that better. But for the money it's not a bad purchase.

And thus, my rabbit hunt continues.
Follow-up commentary
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to finally have to get rid of this. It's broken beyond repair and there's really no reason to keep it around. I wish this had been a little better constructed because overall it wasn't bad, just not great.

Thank you for the review. I have a few questions about the rabbit (as I just reviewed my first rabbit after years of playing with toys)

~1 What speeds and/or patterns did the toy have?

~2 How did the control panel work, and was it easy to use?

~3 The beads: did they come on tracks or were they loose in the vibrator? Also, what were they made of (plastic, metal) ?

~4 How do you clean this toy and what works best?

~5 Compatible lubes, if the toy provides drag?

~6 Did the clitoral stimulator work well and did it comply with your anatomy? Is the clitoral attachment moveable?

    Thanks again for the information.

    Keep on playing and writing.

    1. It has three speeds of vibration and three speeds of rotation. No patterns, but you can switch the direction in which the beads rotate.
    2. The control panel is located at the bottom of the shaft and is average in terms of ease of use. The buttons to adjust the rotation speed up and down is on one side, the buttons to adjust vibration strength up and down is on the other.
    3. The beads are on tracks - not loose. They are actually metal and attached to a rotating metal shaft inside the... uh... shaft.
    4. I clean it with warm soapy water in the sink. Dial antibacterial soap works well on it, actually.
    5. It has a somewhat "tacky" texture due to the nature of the material, so I'd recommend using lube. I use silicone-based but water-based is fine as well.
    6. The clitoral stimulator is the best part of this toy. It does comply well with my anatomy but I can imagine that it may not work with everybody - you have to pretty much have the shaft fully inserted to get maximum stimulation, or hold it upside down and NOT have the shaft inserted at all, which is awkward The attachment is not move-able - it bends a little bit but you can't really "move" it too much.

    Thanks for the questions

I noticed a lot of reviewers weren't so favourable on follow-up.
