The True Love Romantic G & I had a little bit of an awkward "getting to know you" period. The first problem I encountered was that I couldn't turn it on. I placed and replaced the batteries, shook it around... nothing. Then, I twisted the cap on with all my might.... hoping this wouldn't do any lasting damage, and BBBZZZZZZZ. It came to life. Yay!

This is my first G Spot vibrator. I have a G Spot dildo, so I thought the use would translate seamlessly. Not exactly. The end is a little pointy, so I wasn't sure exactly how to go about inserting it, but after a few minutes of experimentation and a bit of water based lube (the TPR material is pretty sticky, causing quite a bit of drag), I managed to get it in. Good times. It felt great. It also felt great while I was maneuvering it around, getting warmed up. The tip, as I mentioned, is sort of pointed. It works GREAT for clitoral stimulation as well as for the G Spot. Feels really good on nipples, too. So... the first time I use a new toy, I often don't manage to get off. I usually just play around with it see what it does, experiment. Not so with this beauty! I came the first night I used it! It does what it's meant to do.

I'm torn on how I feel about the fact that it's EXTREMELY bendable. When I first used it, I found that extremely annoying. I was just trying the old in and out thrusting kind of thing and it's a little wobbly for that. I have found, though, with a little practice and experimentation, I can actually bend it so it hits my G Spot and the end cap part touches my clit. Yummy. A little bit of an awkward position for much thrusting, but hey, it does something else neat! I'm not gonna argue with that!

This toy is made of TPR. It can't be boiled, so if you're gonna share, or if you're gonna use it anally (more on that later), please put a rubber on it. It can be washed with toy cleaner, hot water and soap. As someone who is sensitive to the Triclosan found in most toy cleaners, I highly recommend that if you use a toy cleaner, you also wash it thoroughly with mild soap and hot water afterwards and rinse the hell out of it after both.

The TPR is sticky and will attract dust, lint, pet hair, and pretty much anything else it's near, so don't forget to lather, rinse, repeat before you use it as well as after.

There is a slight smell I noticed, but somehow it's not awful like many TPR/TPE toys. It has a slight perfume-y scent. Kind of reminds me of (pardon me, I'm an 80's kid) those scented erasers they had when we were kids. It was most noticeable right out of the box, but after washing, it wasn't too bad. You'd have to hold it right up to your face and take a whiff to notice the smell once you've cleaned it.

At 6 1/2" insertable length (8 1/2 " total length) and 1 5/8 diameter, my opinion is that it's just about perfect size-wise. Maybe one more insertable inch would be ok, but much more than that would be more than I require personally. Some people who aren't used to penetration might find it a little on the wide side, but it's tapered, so you don't get all the girth all at once. It has umm... kind of a bubbly appearance. They're not too pronounced, but you can definitely feel them. I think they feel nice.

The bullet in this vibrator is fairly large, and the vibrations can actually be felt even at the battery cap end, even though there's nothing other than TPR and a little wire for about 3 inches in between. I will admit that I am someone who doesn't like a super powerful vibrator. Magic wand? Forget it! Not this girl! For clitoral stimulation, I usually use the lowest setting of any vibrator. With this one, I like the lowest setting best for that. I like the higher settings when I have it inserted. I can handle the medium setting on my clit, but the high setting is just too much. On my G Spot, the high setting is AMAZING!!!

I like the tapered, almost cone-like tip of this vibrator, and I'm not afraid to say that I let my sweetheart put a condom on it and use the first couple inches on my bum. The cone shape worked well because it was gradual. He wanted to be there, and I must say that the vibrations were very... relaxing. It "opened me up" to a whole 'nother kind of experience!

It's not really meant for anal play, as it doesn't have a flared base or anything to really hold onto, but a little poke with the tapered end got me ready for more exploration.

There are three settings on this vibrator: Low, Medium and High. As I said in an earlier part of this review I am someone who doesn't like a super powerful vibrator, at least not for clitoral stimulation... which is pretty much necessary for me to get off. For clitoral stimulation, I usually use the lowest setting of any vibrator. With this one, I like the lowest setting best for that. I like the higher settings when I have it inserted. I can handle the medium setting on my clit, but the high setting is just too much. On my G Spot, though, the Low setting does very little but the High setting is AMAZING!!!

One hint: you have to twist the battery cap on way tighter than you'd think to get it to work. I sent my first one back as defective, but now I wonder if it's just that I wasn't forceful enough...I pretty much had to screw the cap on until I was sure it was gonna break for it to turn on. Once I got it to turn on, though, no problems---until I had to replace the batteries. I guess all I can say is the plastic of the end cap is pretty freakin' sturdy, so if it won't turn on at first, tighten it a little more.

The controls are easy to use. There is a push button at the end of the cap. Push once for Low, again for Medium, again for High, again for Off. There is no automatic off switch, and there are no patterns to scroll through. I don't often like patterns, so I have no problem with that. I had no problem with "accidentally" hitting the button using it alone, though my partner had a few accidental button pushes. I've never used this toy on someone else, but I have to wonder if he wasn't actually trying to "push my buttons"...

This vibrator is definitely not what you'd call quiet. On the lowest setting it is ok, and I have no problem using it without blankets. With the thin walls of my apartment, though, I usually cover up, because inevitably I'm gonna turn it up and Medium and High are fairly loud unless the vibe is fully inserted, and I like to go back and forth. My neighbor might be able to hear the high setting, but he hasn't said anything about it. ... Actually, for the purpose of this review, I can say that I just went and asked my neighbor and he denies being able to hear this vibrator at all ever, although he admits there are times when he can hear complete conversations happening in my apartment. I guess although it's not what I'd call quiet, it's unhearable through a (thin) wall... as long as you don't start yelling or anything.

The packaging on this toy says that it's waterproof. I've had "waterproof" toys before that actually weren't, so I tend to be a little conservative. I have never fully submerged it, nor will I. It's gone in the shower with me successfully and been washed (I have to admit... I didn't follow the recommendations) with the batteries in and nothing bad has happened. I don't suggest forgetting to take the batteries out between uses. It's said that that prolongs battery life, and also if water does somehow happen to get inside during cleaning, they won't get wet.

This toy is extremely easy to care for. Toy cleaner, soap, and hot water are all you need. I recommend cleaning both before and after use. One can't be too careful, right? Because TPR is somewhat porous and can't really be sterilized, PLEASE remember to slap a rubber on it if you're going to share it with anyone with whom you're not fluid-bonded, or if you're gonna go between anal and vaginal penetration!

The True Love Romantic G comes in a nifty little tin with a plastic top. It's not anything that's gonna last a lifetime or hold up to a lot of abuse, but you could definitely keep a few toys in there, or some lubes, or just get a whole bunch of condoms and keep 'em in there like you're Planned Parenthood or something!

There's a plastic insert inside molded to the shape of the vibe. It comes out so you can use the box for whatever you want, but be aware that the plastic lid is likely sturdier than the box itself.

One fun way I used this vibrator... or rather had it used on myself... was as a prep for DP, my lover put a condom on it and used the nicely tapered end to open me up before he went in my bum---and when he did, put a new condom on it and put this vibe inside my vagina. We both loved how it felt! Unfortunately, I can only speak to the first time at this point, but he didn't last long. Luckily I didn't either. It was amazing.
