Is it Bliss or is it a miss?

This cute little egg-shaped vibrator wins my award for "most fun toy with lots of little bits I've had the pleasure of using." However, there are some counterproductive and unhelpful things about the toy that made it slightly less amusing after the orgasm had passed.

Use

The Egg is a great clitoris stimulator if you don't mind having to operate it with a remote. However, the best part of having a remote is that you can hand it off to your partner and let them run the show.

This toy can also be used anywhere because it is relatively discreet (it's quiet for the amount and strength of the vibrations it produces) and it is waterproof.

Material / Texture

The Bliss Egg is made out of PU coated plastic, which is non-porous and easy to care for. The materials are pretty safe and work with either water-based or silicone-based lube. The PU coating is also phthalate-free. The Egg is very soft and smooth with little to no odor at all. (For what it's worth, it also doesn't taste like anything aside from plastic.)

I usually prefer something with a little more texture to it, but the powerful vibrations make up for the lack of texture in this toy's case.

Design / Shape / Size

I keep referring to the Egg as "little" because I can easily conceal it in one hand. It's only about two and a half inches long, and less than two inches in diameter at the widest point of the egg. The remote is even smaller than the Egg. The cradle is larger, but not by a lot; it's just wide enough for the egg to fit in with about a half an inch or so of space around it (also the cradle is probably only about two inches tall).

The egg shape is sleek and easy to hold (it has a nifty little strap, just in case). The shape wasn't really cutting it for me, but I'm used to smaller bullets so that might have been the only real issue.

I wouldn't recommend trying to travel with the Bliss Egg, but that's only because you'd have to take four separate pieces (five, if you include the battery separately); since the packaging isn't ideal for storing the toy in, I would also recommend finding a small toy box or a pouch to keep the pieces together in. After all, the Egg won't charge without both the charging base AND the cord, and the Egg won't work without the remote AND a 12V-1 battery.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This little vibrator puts out relatively powerful vibrations for being such a smallish toy. There are multiple settings, everything from normal vibration to escalating vibration to pulsing. There are different speeds available. My only complaint about the different settings is that you can't go just choose your setting right off, you have to cycle through all of them to find the one you want. Also, if you're not paying attention to how many speeds/vibration types there are total, and you're not keeping a count of where you are, you pretty much have to turn the thing off and start from the beginning again or keep cycling until you find the one you were looking for. It was a little distracting in my case.

However, once you get the speed and function you wanted, the Egg performs beautifully. It's also waterproof.

My only other complaint is that while the Egg is rechargeable (coming with its own little cradle and cord that plugs into the wall), the remote is not. The toy comes with one 12V-1 battery (which are a little harder to find than AA's), but the battery that came with mine was defective. And, as I quickly learned, the Egg won't work (charged or not) without the remote. So while we're being pseudo eco-friendly with a rechargeable toy, we still need batteries for the thing.

Care and Maintenance

The toy itself is made out of ABS plastic with a PU coating. It's non-porous and cleans with hot, soapy water. A good toy cleaner will also work.

Storing this toy might be a little more difficult, not because of shape or size, but simply because this toy comes in four parts: there's the Egg itself, the charging base, the base cord, and the remote. It's great that the Egg is rechargeable, but if you are missing even one of these pieces, the toy won't charge or work right. My advice is to buy a pouch to store all the parts in together when not in use so as to reduce the risk of losing anything.

Packaging

The packaging was sort of a mess. I had to literally rip the box apart to get the toy out, so there was no possibility of saving it to keep the toy (and all its various pieces) in. The teeny-tiny booklet of information that came with the Egg was helpful, but short. The instructions pretty much only consist of how to plug the charging base in, how to turn the Egg on and how to turn the Egg off. Simple and straightforward.
