Is That a Fairy in Your Pocket?

The Pocket Fairy isn't comparable in strength to other wand massagers, but it does pack a fair amount of power in it's small body. The easy-to-hold design and rechargeability make it a step up from many other small vibrators.

Use

The Pocket Fairy is a miniature wand vibrator. It works best for clitoral stimulation and can be used on any external areas where you enjoy vibrations. This is a good toy to use during sex with a partner because it is easy to hold and small enough to fit between bodies. It also works well on it's own, and doesn't get in the way if you'd like to use it along with another toy for penetration.

Material / Texture

The Pocket Fairy is made from plastic. It is non-porous and phthalate-free. The handle is smooth and shiny. The head is matte and silky with some ribbing on the sides that can add extra stimulation. The neck is slightly flexible.

Design / Shape / Size

The Pocket Fairy has a traditional wand design with a handle, flexible neck, and rounded head. It is quite pretty and girly with curvy, pink writing and a little picture of a fairy. At an inch wide and just under 6 inches in length it won't literally fit in your pocket, but it fits into a purse and would be great for travel. The handle fits nicely into my hand and makes this toy easy to manoeuvre. It is much easier to hold than a bullet. I enjoy the size of the head because it isn't too pinpointed, but also doesn't cover my entire vulva like some wands do. It comes with a fabric wrist strap which I removed because it didn't seem to serve much purpose and could collect bodily fluids. The charging port has a little stopper made from a rubbery material. It isn't attached and mine got lost while I was charging the toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are controlled by a simple sliding switch that is textured for easier operation with slippery hands. The switch is easy to slide when you want it to, but it takes enough force that it won't get knocked accidentally.

There are 2 settings, and I would call them "high" and "higher." There is no real low setting on this toy, so I wouldn't recommend it to very sensitive people. The lower speed is medium in pitch and gets 4 vrooms. The higher speed is buzzy and doesn't feel much stronger to me. I almost always use my vibrators on high, but with the Pocket Fairy I find it works better to start on the lower setting and only turn it up to high for a few minutes at the end. The Pocket Fairy is pretty quiet when I turn it on. During use, when I apply pressure or hold it on certain angles, it gets a bit louder and could probably be heard through a closed door. The vibrations are located in the head and don't travel down the handle very strongly, so I don't have to worry about my hand going numb.

This toy charges with a cord that plugs into the opening at the base of the toy. A blue light hidden underneath the plastic flashes while it is charging, and turns off when the charge is complete. The charger emits a high-pitched sound while it's plugged in, whether or not the toy is connected. It's not very loud, but it's enough to be irritating if I'm lying in bed. The Pocket Fairy can't be overcharged. A full 90 minute charge gives you 70 minutes of use.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is compatible with any lubricant. It can be washed with soap and water, or wiped down with alcohol. Plastic can't be fully sterilized, so use a condom if you're sharing it. It is not waterproof and you need to be careful not to get water inside the charging port. The ribbing on the head and the area underneath the head can collect fluids and be a bit difficult to clean, so you might need to use an old toothbrush or some other method to reach the nooks and crannies.

Packaging

The packaging is a pink cardboard box with Japanese writing and some poorly translated English. There are no real instructions, but it gives a little product information, including the charging time and the fact that the high setting puts out 11,000 rotations per minute. It's not high quality packaging, but it's cute enough that you could gift it to someone.
Follow-up commentary
I still like the pocket fairy, but I don't love it. My main issue with it is the noise. It's not loud, but I find the sound annoying and kind of whiny. I also don't like how it gets a little louder in certain positions. I'd rather have it be consistantly louder because I find the change distracting. The high setting is too buzzy for me, but since the lower setting is strong enough to get the job done it doesn't bother me too much.

  • Which should I buy?
    • I love this one plus the Hitachi wand and I am torn which one to buy. I love the Hitachi items and the variety. I love that this one is cordless. The price is not a huge difference and wanted some other opinions. Which one lasts longer & which do you have?
    • I prefer the Hitachi because he vibrations are deeper and more thuddy than the Fairy. And, Hitachi has been a household name since the 70s. If it didn't work, they wouldn't still be so well loved.
    • I don't have the pocket fairy, and I do have hitachi, and I don't really like its buzzy vibes.

  • Buzz Buzz
    • Generally, this toy seems to be pretty thrilling for everyone but has some mixed reviews on the type of vibrations. How "buzzy" is this toy or is it more "throbby?" Would the buzz be more similar to a bullet or other massager wands?
    • Oh, I have to have it. Awesome review! Thank you.
    • Looks so fun!
