It couldn't handle me

The Love Handle is a good toy for the beginner who wants to start out with something smaller and not so intimidating for g-spot stimulation. It has an artistic design and smooth feel, as well as a thin arm for the insertable portion. Size queens, power lovers, and the more experienced may not find this toy quite so satisfying.

Use

Take a look at the Love Handle by Evolved Novelties. The unique L shaped design sets it apart from other g-spot vibrators on the market. It is easy to use with one control button located on the top of the handle, making it less intimidating and easy to use for beginners. It has 7 different settings, from the usual low/high to different pulsating vibrations. It is quiet enough that even though it can be heard through covers, it cannot be heard through a closed door. It runs on 2 AAA batteries, so forgetting to charge it will not be a problem. The Love Handle is similar to another toy called Get a Grip, which is the male version for prostate massage. After looking through the details of the Get a Grip, I don't see any differences between them, so if you wanted to use this toy for anal play, it shouldn't be a problem. The thin arm should help ease beginners into using this toy. Also, if you do use this for anal, remember to be careful and use protection. Sanitize completely if planning to share this toy with another person.

Material / Texture

Who doesn't like feeling a little safer when using toys? Well those of you who do, the Love Handle rates a 7 out of 10 on the material safety index. It is made of PU coated plastic which has a smooth, slightly velvety feel. Some benefits of this is that it is food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. There is little to no drag with this toy. It is lightweight, rigid, and slightly porous, so use protection and thoroughly clean it if planning to share this toy with someone else. I like the velvety smoothness of the material, both externally and internally. A little lube will go a long ways with this toy, so you won't have to constantly reapply. Overall, the texture and material used felt nice and are fairly safe as well.

Design / Shape / Size

The Love Handle features an interesting design in the shape of a L. The control button is located near the top of the handle. The handle (about 9cm/3.5") has some ridges/grooves to make it easier to grip with your hand and for stimulating the clitoris. The insertable end is about 10cm/4" long and shaped like a skinny arm with a bump near the handle and a big bump on the end for g-spot stimulation. There is a little nub sticking out where the 2 parts of the L meet. I think the purpose of this is just so your hand doesn't slip down when using it.

The vibrations are focused at the bulbous tip of the insertable part of the toy. This helps add to the g-spot stimulation, however the vibrations don't travel well enough to the handle for clitoral stimulation. The Love Handle is powered by 2 AAA batteries located at the end of the handle. There are two very slight "dimples" by the control button for pushing forward so that the battery cap pops off. Once you figure out how to open it, it is easy to do. Also, be careful because this toy is more splash proof than waterproof. You will be fine washing it off to clean it, but I don't recommend fully submerging it in the tub or shower as the battery compartment is not completely sealed off as in a toy with a twist on/off battery compartment that locks into place better.

While it doesn't look phallic or like the well known rabbit design, I can't imagine it would be too hard to figure out what this toy really is. It should be fine to travel with since it is not large in size, just remember to take the batteries out. Nobody wants the TSA to go on a search for the mysterious buzzing sound from your luggage. Other than the battery compartment, all the other areas are connected smoothly with only the tiniest seam running down the length of the toy. This seam is not noticeable at all during use. I have tried pulling and bending the rigid arms of the Love Handle to see if they would give or crack and they did not. This is a durable toy that seems like it will hold up to a fair amount of abuse if dropped or stepped on. For clumsy people like myself, that is always a good quality to have in toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Love Handle has 7 different vibrating functions, from basic low and high, to mixtures of short and long vibration patterns that remind me of Morse code. My favorite setting was the high setting, since this toy just didn't have enough power for me. The other settings didn't do much for me either. They were just random combinations of Morse code vibrations. The more powerful settings do produce more noise but not enough that it can be heard through a door. As a g-spot vibrator, this toy can be effective, however it doesn't work well as a g-spot and clitoral dual stimulator. The vibrations and design don't come close to being able to satisfy both at the same time. I have used this as just a clitoral stimulator which works okay but I like something with more power. As a g-spot stimulator, this just didn't work well for me. I tried a few different things and it worked to a point. I need something with more girth to it than a skinny little 5cm/2" around arm, so size queens and those who like some girth for g-spot might want to look elsewhere.

Since there is only one control button, it is easy to use and turn off and on. To turn it on, just push the control button once. To turn it off, hold the control button down for a few seconds until it turns off. Push once to go through the different patterns of vibrations. The location of the control button on the tip of the handle makes it easily accessible during play. Those with larger hands might have some problems with hitting the button accidentally though. I have small hands and mine just fit, and I still pushed the button accidentally once in a while. As for batteries, this toy seemed to last pretty well on batteries as I always take them out after play. There was a problem after my 8th or 9th play session with this toy which will be covered in the experience section. In overall terms of functions and controls, if you aren't a beginner, the functions on this toy will most likely not be very fulfilling for you.

Care and Maintenance

This toy can be cleaned using toy cleaner, or good old soap and hot water. Although the toy is marketed as waterproof, many others have commented that it is splash-proof only. Do not boil this to try and sanitize it. Looking at the battery compartment, I can see how this may be so be careful while washing this toy to keep the battery compartment area from being drenched in water. It does not specify if mild or antibacterial soap is better. I have tried. Both work fine and do not cause damage to the toy. There are no difficult areas or crevices to worry about when cleaning this product.

To store the love handle after cleaning, I just put it back in the hard plastic container it came in. You can always store it in a baggie or with your other toys. It is not made of silicone so it can be stored with other toys without any problems. Thankfully, it is not a lint or hair magnet and has no smell. The packaging does not say what kind of lubricant to use, but it will be fine with water based and should be fine with silicone as well, although I have personally not tested this. If you are worried about the possibility of silicone lubricant ruining the material, just play it safe and use water based.

Packaging

The Love Handle is enclosed in a hard clear plastic container that opens at the bottom. The container has information about the toy such as: waterproof, 7 functions, directions (cleaning, battery compartment, how to operate), ergonomic design, satin smooth coating, uses 2 AAA batteries, and one year warranty. While there are no naked ladies on the packaging, it is obvious it is a sex toy since you can see the entire product in the clear shell casing with descriptions of what it is. There was no booklet included. For storage, I just use the container it came in. While it doesn't look very elegant, I suppose it can still be given as a gift since it is in a nice hard plastic case instead of a cheap cardboard box.

Experience

Personally, this toy just didn't work for me. I like something with more to it than a skinny little arm and moderate vibrations for g-spot stimulation. This did nothing for clitoral stimulation although I was able to get off once or twice just using the tip of the insertable portion to tease my clit since it wasn't working so great for g-spot stimulation. About 20 minutes into using this toy for the 8th or 9th time, I noticed it wasn't as powerful, so I switched the batteries out. After a few minutes of this, I noticed that didn't really help either. I listened and the vibrations were no longer steady when they were on the steady functions. It started to get worse, so I put it away. A few days later I put some batteries in to see if it was still acting strange, which it was. Then after switching through the settings a few times, it was working fine again. I don't really know how to explain the temperamental nature of the Love Handle for me. While there is a 1 year warranty for this toy, I'm not going to bother since it didn't work very well for me in the first place anyway. This toy could work for some people and could be an interesting design for beginners but more experienced users might want to just skip over this one.
Follow-up commentary
I tried to continue using this toy, but then when I was packing my suitcases for leaving Australia I was short on room and decided to toss it. It had stopped working completely and I am still a bit disappointed at what a waste this toy was. I tried to like it, but I guess some things just aren't meant to be. Power lovers, just don't even bother.
