It goes Buzz in the night... and the day!

The Harmony Bullet is a pretty good one. I wouldn't say that it's the best quality and is going to last a lifetime, but it looks nice, it's got the kick, it's waterproof, and it's affordable. It's relatively quiet too, for the punch it packs.

Use

I have in front of me, the Yang (white) Harmony Bullet by Doc Johnson. It's my first bullet, and my first impression was "that's a little bigger than I expected a bullet to be". It fits comfortably in the palm of my hand though, as does the connected controller, the base of which is wider/larger, a strange feature at first but much better for gripping when things get wet. The rubbery little cones at the base of each end of the cord, seem quite reliable for keeping the pieces fluid free as well.

As the package displays, the toy is made of phthalate free ABS plastic, and waterproof for bath time fun. It has four speeds, and requires 2 AAA batteries, which are not included (lucky I had some handy).

While meant for clitoral, I've actually found the bullet to be great for shallow penetration as well. The cord seems to be reliable enough, as long as a firm grip is kept on the base. I don't think the two will be separating without a serious amount of force. For this reason, however, I would abstain from any anal play.

Material / Texture

The Harmony Bullet is made of ABS plastic, and is phthalate free. It's smooth, shiny and hard. The cord reminds me of what you would find on a pair of headphones, only a tad thicker and sturdier. No taste, no smell, unless you put the cord up under your nose, which has a very faint rubber scent, again like new headphones.

Design / Shape / Size

Overall, the design of the Harmony Bullet is a pretty good one. I wouldn't say that it's the best quality and going to last a lifetime, but it looks nice, it's got the kick, it's waterproof and affordable. Also, relatively quiet, for the punch it packs.

On the lowest setting, a thick blanket makes it silent from a few feet away. On the highest setting, and under a blanket, you can slightly hear it from across the room. Through a closed door, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems, unless you're buzzing it against a solid surface.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The bullet has four speeds. I was quite amused to find that, on its lowest speed, sitting in the palm of your hand, it kind of hops around a little. The controller really doesn't require any instruction, the up arrow increases the speed, the down arrow lowers it, and the four vertical lights glow red accordingly. The lowest speed even pulses a little bit, making a "Whp-Whp-Whp" kind of sound.

The two batteries slide in the bottom of the toy, though the + - signs are faint, just tilt the controller and you'll see them. This is really the only part of the toy that comes across a little flimsy, as there isn't much separating or guiding the batteries. You have to kind of squish the first to the side to fit the second one in. Not a major flaw really.

Care and Maintenance

Because it's made of plastic, you've got free range on lube choices. Silicone, Water based, go crazy. There's nothing special about cleaning and care, a mild soap and water wash, or toy wipes will do you fine. It doesn't get much easier, except maybe with glass. Don't leave it in the sun, or leave it in your car though, plastic does melt when exposed to extreme heat.

Packaging

Now, it's not a hardwood box with silk lining, but the packaging isn't straight out of a porno either. No half naked ladies, or random nudity on the plastic box of this bullet. It's is very Yin-Yang in muted gray tones, declaring "Balanced Bullets", and encouraging you to "Harmonize your Inner Self", but relatively tasteful packaging. I can't gush over it, but neither can I complain. Though a drawstring storage bag might have been a nice addition.

The side of the package does also say that warranty info, and product registration, can be found at the Doc Johnson website, so that might be worth looking in to.

Do you have to cycle through, or up and down, to turn this one off?
  • Contributor: User Unknown
Sammi: Actually yes, once you reach the highest setting, you do have to press the down button four times to take it down to Off. If you press quickly, the changes still register though, so I don't really find myself missing the immediate shut off too badly.

This isn't sold on this site right? How much is it?
  • Contributor: User Unknown
$26 on Amazon, however it was offered as a sponsored review, so I imagine that we simply aren't selling it at the moment. Smile
