Traditional vibrator discontinued

It's good to be king

I was not disappointed by this item, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional vibrator with some girth to it. Its body-safe material and strong vibrations definitely make it worth it. I was only slightly put-off by the tentaclishiness, and it did not detract from the experience.

Use

This vibe is great for penetration, though I preferred to use it for clitoral stimulation. The vibrations are strong, but quiet. This makes it great for people who don't want to their neighbors to hear them buzzing away at the ole split knish. The discreet drawstring satin pouch that comes with the toy is just tops. This, compounded with its quiet motor, also makes the King Rocky suitable for traveling (and The King certainly travels in style.) It's important to note that the King Rocky can be considered king-sized, and may not be the best for those with small and/or timid sausage wallets.

Material / Texture

The toy is made out food-grade material, specifically silicone. Though I wouldn't recommend eating it, it's not too bad to suck on. There is no offensive, dildo-strength odor when you open the package or put the product in or around your mouth. This a plus for those who enjoy warming up the toy in this fashion, because sex toys should not remind you of bivalvular speculums, paper gowns and Nazi-steel stirrups.

The shape of the toy was a bit off-putting at first, as it looked vaguely like an alien tentacle. Alien appendages are pretty high on my list of things to not put in my vagina. However, the bumpy, trabeculated texture was useful for clitoral stimulation.

Design / Shape / Size

The toy is certainly interesting to look at. The shape is simultaneously futuristic and off-putting. With an insertable length of about 7 inches and a 5.5 inch circumference, it is certainly not just a little prick. I personally wouldn't recommend it for beginners. I must say though, that I generally have difficulty physiologically accommodating penetrative toys. And may not be the best litmus of this aspect of the vibrator.

As I mentioned, the drawstring bag that comes with it as well as its quiet motor makes it ideal for travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy functioned well. Controls were simple and intuitive. A dial at the base of the shaft controlled the degree of vibration. The position of the control makes it fairly easy to change setting while it is invaginated--more so if you are using the toy on a friend than yourself however. The toy is powerful and quiet enough that it may not be heard if it's running underneath a thick comforter.

Care and Maintenance

Toy is very easy to maintain. I clean it with warm soap and water, as well as toy cleaner. I did not use the toy with any lubrication; however, I'd use water-based lubrication (as that is generally a safe bet with toys, considering body fluids are water-based). I store it in the drawstring bag that came with the toy to prevent any silicone-to-silicone chemical reactions from occurring.

Follow-up commentary
I got bored with this toy pretty quickly and because it was silicone, monitoring its storage space got a little old too. The little silk bag that came with it is helpful, but somehow (perhaps while moving my treasure chest of toys) the toy worked its way out of its bag. It proceeded to melt many of my favorite toys, including my purple strap-on that I hadn't even had the chance to use yet.

Good review. I'm so sorry it got loose in the toy draw and destroyed some of your other toys. Were those also silicone or a different material?
