Sunrise UR3 soft sleeve and vibrator - traditional vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by MissFae

What a deal! Don't let the price fool you, this toy is NOT a dud! The Sunrise is a great introduction to UR3, more commonly known as cyberskin. I have avoided it in the past because it is a porous material which requires special care. After trying this toy, I am looking forward to trying more cyberskin products. The special care is not as daunting a task as I expected. You just wash it carefully before and after each use, dust it with cornstarch to keep it from getting sticky and store it in a ziploc bag or wrapped in a clean piece of fabric. It's recommended that you use a condom with this material, because it is porous, it's not possible to sanitize it completely.

The Sunrise is a really basic, simple toy. It is a hard, plastic vibrator with a dial base and a UR3 sleeve to make it feel soft like real skin. The sleeve is extremely stretchy and it tends to slide around a little on the plastic vibrator. I actually liked this, it felt a lot like a foreskin and was fun to play with. The ridges at the tip don't feel much like ridges, but more like foreskin wrinkles. I really liked that effect, it felt just a little softer and more padded in that area. One benefit of the stretchy sleeve that I found was that it can stretch down over the base a bit, covering any spots that might leak into the battery compartment when washing. It's not listed as waterproof, but this does help to protect the battery compartment from splashes. The downside to this was that it stretched down over the dial while I was playing, making it hard to grip and control.

Batteries are easy. It takes 2 AA's. They're simple to install. I found that the cap on the battery case has a tendency to loosen up on its own, but otherwise, I was please with its function. It's a simple progression from moderate to very strong vibrations. There are no pulsing functions, but if the battery cap loosens up on you, you may find it doing that anyways.

Congratulations to the Sunrise for being a contender in my quest to find an indestructible vibrator! I really put it to the test and after several uses, this very inexpensive toy is still working as well as it did when I took it out of the box! The material of the sleeve is delicate and while I do not expect it to last forever, it has held up to expectations so far. I noticed only one spot showing a slight sign of wear and looking at it right now, I can't even find the spot again.
