Overall, I'd stay away from this toy if your looking for a good rabbit-style vibrator. It's not very good for beginners and even for advanced users it's not the best made toy. If you supplement the pearl butterfly with a stronger bullet it might become a great addition to someone's collection as the beaded shaft does create the best sensations. Otherwise, it might just create for a frustrating situation.

Use

I originally bought the pearl butterfly to replace my eager beaver. I was very disappointed. The shaft is pretty thick and designed for people who are ready for the upgrade, so lube is a must. The beads are actually quite pleasant when positioned just right but the real deal-breaker is the butterfly clit stimulator. The antennas barely direct any vibration and the wings on the side make the clit bullet really hard to maneuver. It's a slightly larger than average rabbit-style vibrator and on a whole it feels heavy and cumbersome and would probably be a little awkward for couples play.

Material / Texture

The pearl butterfly is made out of pvc which was a definite upgrade from my beaver's jelly material. Overall it is quite smooth and the phallic tip might be appealing to some but was a bit daunting for myself. The pearl shaft is a bit longer than other rabbit vibrators and at first can be a bit too filling but once settled in, provides for a very nice sensation.

The pvc did lend itself to a very rubbery smell out of the package. It eventually fades but it might be slightly off-putting.

Design / Shape / Size

As mentioned before, this toy is quite large. It would be extremely hard to use without lubricant. The insertable length is about 6 inches which makes it great for thrusting and the beaded length really gives you the sensation of fullness. But the size is a bit awkward.

The biggest problem with the pearl butterfly is the pearl butterfly attachment. When resting against the clit, the sheer amount of rubber becomes very frustrating. It's hard to maneuver and the power from the bullet really fails to deliver. I eventually cut off the antennas in hopes of making the clitoral stimulator better but eventually gave up and retired the toy for good.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The butterfly is powered by its base and has two controls for the shaft and the clitoral stimulator. It has five speeds but to be honest, you'd have to crank it to at least the 2nd and 3rd speed to really feel anything. The speeds are adjusted by sliding the knob up and down and it is generally pretty responsive. The controls do feel kind of cheap so it would be wise to be gentle while using.

The toy is on the quiet side though. Many rabbit vibrators make a grinding noise because of the beads but even with the rotating beads on, the butterfly is pretty quiet.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is pretty easy to care for. It is smooth and easy to clean with some soap and water. The ridges at the tip might track dirt and require a bit more attention.

  A lot depends on the length as well as the shape (even among butterflies) as to how the clitoral piece stimulates. I'd say find a shape you like, and then explore the reviews to see how the piece will stimulate.
