Je T'aime...Moi Non Plus

Le Point G is very pleasing to the eye, but unfortunately not as pleasing to the ear or the erogenous zones. Its vibrations are far too powerful for me, and pretty buzzy as well. It became a nice gift for a friend who likes more vrooms than I can handle.

Use

The Le Point G is a waterproof traditional vibrator, and is part of the Je T'aime line of toys from Icon Brands. With its name and its curved tip, it's pretty obviously intended for G-spot stimulation, but has other uses as well: it can be used as an external clitoral vibrator, an anal vibrator, and a P-spot vibrator. (Its larger handle-type base makes it safe for anal use.) If you liked the size and shape, but not the vibrations, you could, of course, use it simply as a non-realistic dildo, without turning on the vibrating motor.

Material / Texture

Le Point G is made almost entirely of hard plastic, which is very hygienic due to its non-porous, latex-free, phthalates-free nature. The shaft has a sort of pearly matte finish, which really adds to the aesthetic attractiveness of the toy, as well as minimizing drag and holding lubrication well. The base is mainly a shiny, silvery plastic, and the power/function button is a rubbery material.

I selected this toy partly because of its beautiful, deep violet color, but in person it didn't look the same. It has more of a reddish tone to the purple--even more so than in my photos--so I'd call it a dark orchid or magenta color.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

This toy measures a total of 8" in length, with 6.25" of that length being insertable, and it has a circumference of just 3.25", giving it a diameter of about one inch. It's decidedly on the long and slender side, especially for a G-spot toy. The shaft is straight as an arrow until the last inch, where it curves sharply--almost 90 degrees--and ends in a rounded point. The handle is designed very nicely, with an oval shape that's comfortable in the hand. The power/function button is located on the flat side of the oval, making it less likely that you'll accidentally press it during use.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibe has a single button that acts as both power button and function-changing button. Pressing once will turn the toy on to its first function; pressing again will switch to the next function; holding down for two seconds turns it off. The five different functions are:

- 5 slow pulses/13 medium-speed pulses/19 fast pulses (repeating)
- 5 slow pulses/1 long pulse/13 medium-speed pulses (repeating)
- Fast pulses
- Steady vibration
- 1 long pulse/16 fast pulses (repeating)

All functions seem to be at the same speed, which is about 3 vrooms and 3 bees--medium-high vibrations and medium-loud volume. Pressing the button after the fifth setting will return you to the first setting, from which you can cycle back through again. The patterns are a little odd, and if I'd kept this toy, I probably would have used the third and fourth functions the most often. The button is comfortable and easy to press, and is well-placed on the handle. The vibrations are focused about two inches down from the tip, but are transmitted well throughout the toy's hard plastic exterior.

The battery compartment is protected from water by the standard rubbery gasket seal at the base of the screw-on threads beneath the handle. It did its job well when I tested it under water--no water made it inside.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is very low-maintenance, which is a point in its favor. You can use any type of lubricant you might desire with it--water-based, silicone-based, or even oil-based (though I recommend against using oil-based lubricants vaginally, as they can trap bacteria and are hard to wash away). You can clean it using soap and water (it's waterproof!), an antibacterial toy cleaner, or by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol. It can be stored just about anywhere, as there's no need to worry about what might happen if it comes into contact with your other toys; I would suggest some kind of soft pouch or fabric-lined drawer, though, to prevent scratches from marring the pretty finish.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

This toy came in a white box with small, colorful designs scattered over it (reminiscent of a certain ridiculously-expensive handbag's print), with a clear plastic front and a purple plastic band taped around it showing the name of the toy. The vibrator is nestled into a basic molded-to-shape plastic insert.

The back of the box shows a prettily-worded marketing/sales description of the toy, including the French phrase for, "Do you want to go to bed with Je T'aime?"

("Je t'aime" means "I love you" in French.)

Beneath this is a very basic description of the toy, written in six different languages:

This box is nice enough for gift-giving, as long as the situation doesn't call for a discreet box. It's neither sturdy nor convenient enough for storage, however--I suggest recycling it.
    • Not discreet
    • Recyclable
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

As I mentioned, this vibrator is much too loud, powerful, and buzzy for my taste. Since I didn't "coucher avec Je T'aime" myself, but gave it away to a friend, I asked her to report back on her experience. Here's what she said:

"Pros - I like the handle part; easy to hold on to, and easy to change the vibration settings with no chance of accidental changing of the setting, or worse yet, turning it off mid-use! The strength of the vibration was good once I got it on a setting I liked.

Cons - It's too narrow for me. Also, I didn't like the weird patterns of vibration. I feel like I'd have to use it several times to remember the order of the vibes.

It won't make it into my regular rotation, but I will use it again."
Follow-up commentary
My friend reports that she likes using this as a clitoral vibe in tandem with a dildo, as the pointy tip is uncomfortable on her G-spot. The waterproof feature has worked well for her in the shower and bath, especially when she needs to cover its sound with running water to avoid questions from curious munchkins.
