Kiss This One Goodbye

The Original Butterfly Kiss would be a fantastic toy to introduce beginners to the world of G-spot play. Unfortunately, this one just did not work out for me. I have a deep G-spot and it did not reach where it needed to. Just because it did not work for me doesn't mean it isn't the right toy for someone out there.

Use

California Exotic Novelties' Original Butterfly Kiss is a vibrator intended for dual clitoral and G-spot stimulation since it has a pronounced head. It is made of Thermoplastic Rubber, also known as TPR. There are butterfly antennae and wings for clitoral stimulation. This toy would be best suited for beginners as it is not too intense but does offer a decent vibration. In addition, it's affordable price is good for someone who is looking to explore play with their G-spot.

This toy may be used anally, but remember that TPR is a semi-porous material, so it is important to use a condom or toy cover if you decide to let this one venture into the back door.

Material / Texture

TPR is a semi-porous material and has a safety rating of 7 on Eden's safety scale. It is porous and cannot be completely sterilized. It is extremely flexible; the shaft can be bent any way and it will bounce back as it is very resilient. It is free of scent and taste. It is phthalate free and waterproof.

The base/handle of the Butterfly Kiss is made of plastic. This section of the toy is not insertable. It is only meant to hold and control it during use.

The shaft itself is smooth and appropriate for those who are texture sensitive. There is a heart pattern texture at the base of the toy, but this portion is not insertable. The butterfly has a ribbed body, two wings and two antenna that flutter during use.

This toy is available in pink, purple and blue. I got the purple and it really is pretty. It has a metallic/pearly look and in certain light looks like it has lavender and gold undertones. Very unique.

I don't know if my toy is the only one like this, but you can see a mark on the toy (the area where it isn't as shiny) where the instruction paper was packaged with the toy. This area would not clean off when I washed it with soap and water. I am disappointed that it is flawed.

Design / Shape / Size

Quick Measurements:
Length: 7 in.
Insertable length: 3 in., or 3.5 in. if you really shove it in there.
Head diameter: 1.25 in.
Shaft diameter: 3/4 in.

The design, shape and size of this toy is beginner friendly and advanced users may not get as much enjoyment out of it. Personally, I enjoy toys of larger size so I feel this toy would be a great introductory G-spot toy for beginners, as the size is by no means intimidating and would be suitable for individuals who have never been penetrated or have small vaginal canals.

The shape and design of the Butterfly Kiss did not work for me. With a relatively small head and an insertable length of 3 in., it did not reach my G-spot as it was intended to. My G-spot is pretty deep, so this isn't as much of a design flaw as it is simply the fact that it did not work for my particular anatomy.

This toy is not discreet; nor is its packaging as it has the product picture on the front of the box. It would be travel friendly as long as the batteries are removed, but if someone were to see it, chances are they will know what it is.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Original Butterfly Kiss is a very simple toy to use. It runs on 2 AAA batteries and it doesn't have any patterns. There are 3 speeds of vibration that come from a bullet that is placed beneath the butterfly. It is operated by a click button and turned off by going through all 3 speeds.

The click button is kind of tricky to use. You have to push it pretty hard to change speeds. This was even more difficult for me because my fingernails are kind of long. I had to push down very hard until I heard the click. The toy pauses for a moment and then bumps up to the next speed.

On its first speed, it's about 2 vrooms. On its highest, I would rate it 3.5 vrooms if I could. Since I can't, I gave it 3 vrooms considering it's not overpowering, and the vibrations do not travel to the shaft very well.

The way the butterfly works depends on your anatomy and how deep you are penetrating yourself with this toy. I suppose this is one good thing about it since its design can somewhat adapt to different anatomies. The belly is ribbed and the vibrations are strongest if you have the toy inserted deeply into you, since your clit will practically sit right atop the bullet. The wings that flutter on the sides can tickle your labia, and if you aren't thrusting too deep, or if your clitoris is further away from your vaginal opening, the antennae will tickle your clit.

This is a relatively quiet toy and would not be able to be heard through a closed door. It could probably be audible underneath a blanket. The Original Butterfly Kiss is also waterproof and can be enjoyed while it is submerged.

Care and Maintenance

TPR is an easy material to take care of, especially considering this particular toy is waterproof and can splashed and submerged.

To clean the Original Butterfly Kiss, you may wash it with antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaner or wipes. I do not recommend towel drying it as the material could grab little fuzzies. Let it air dry if possible.

TPR is compatible with silicone and water based lubricants. This toy has a bit of drag, so you may want to use a few drops of lube if you aren't already warmed up. I prefer to use water based lube with all of my toys since it is safe for all materials.

I've been storing this toy in its original packaging. It is not discreet, but functional. It comes in a cardboard box and it is useful for keeping this product away from other materials that could cause it to warp.

Packaging

The Original Butterfly Kiss comes packaged in a cardboard box that shows a photo of the product. Inside the cardboard box, the toy itself is enclosed in a plastic bag. The packaging was informational and works well for storage. It could be gifted in its packaging, as long as the receiving party won't be shocked by what the gift is.

Experience

Overall, I was not overly impressed with this toy. Remember, this statement is coming from an advanced user that prefers mass amounts of power and girth. This would be a perfect toy for a beginner as it is not a large investment, body safe and offers moderate vibrations.
Follow-up commentary
Unfortunately this is one of those toys that made its way right into the trash. I did nothing for me, I didn't like the material and it wasn't a safe enough material to pass onto a friend. This may work for those who have shallow g-spots and don't require a lot of girth or power to get off. It just wasn't for me.
