Kissed By A Different Butterfly

For those looking for a spin on the traditional rabbit style vibrator which features larger parts and flexibility in terms of use, this is a great toy. However, I would not recommend it for beginners who have never used a rabbit before, for those who find they have trouble accommodating larger toys, or for those who are looking for a powerful rotation or shaft vibration function.

Use

From her: This toy is a twofold spin on the traditional rabbit-style vibrator - first, it is considerably more girth than many rabbit vibes, and second, the clitoral stimulator is attached via a tightly coiled, telephone-style cord to the main "body" of the toy. These modifications will be welcome changes for those who find the shape and/or size of typical rabbit vibrators unsatisfactory. As far as use, it works well as a traditional rabbit vibrator, but because of the semi-detached style of the clitoral stimulator, it can also be used in a variety of innovative ways - anally, for example, or on other parts of the body. My favorite use for this toy is the clitoral stimulator; it's large enough and the material is porous enough that I can slip it onto my clit during intercourse and it will stay firmly locked in position without having to hold it there. The clitoral stimulator also works very well when used on the nipples. Although I have not personally tried this toy anally (it's much too large for me) the possibilities are exciting when considering the attached butterfly stimulator can reach up to a couple feet away, for use on the penis or nipples, or even on your partner, making this a perfect toy for sharing purposes.

Material / Texture

From her: The shaft and clitoral stimulator of this toy are made of TPE, which means that it is quite smooth to the touch. This makes it easier to use vaginally as opposed to anally, since TPE, being porous, tends to retain smells and bacteria more than other materials. The handle of the toy is made of the plastic, and the cord appears likewise to be enveloped in plastic. I did not find this toy to have a strong odor. The softness of the TPE makes insertion somewhat easier.

From him: TPE means that if you're going to be sharing this toy, either between partners or between orifices, you're going to want to use a condom. The material is slightly porous, so it'll keep baddies in and on its surface between uses. Even though the toy is waterproof, you can't boil it, so full sterilization is out of the picture. You're able to use water or a silicone based lube, but as always, we suggest a good water based one. More versatile.

Design / Shape / Size

From her: As mentioned, this toy is quite large, with a girth of 1 5/8" and an insertable length of 6 1/2". However, I don't typically play with toys much girthier than 1 1/2" and I did not have too much trouble with insertion, though the sensation of being stretched was noticeable. Thus users unaccustomed to larger toys may have trouble. The clitoral stimulator is also quite large, about 3" long by 2" wide. In my opinion this was a huge plus, as I prefer a dull, diffuse stimulation on my clit, delivered by a larger toy, versus, say, a more narrow bullet. The butterfly shape is also interesting - I found it enjoyable to try "fluttering" the wings back and forth over my clit, and trapping my clit between the antennae, which, because of their larger size, are more effective for this purpose than other butterfly shaped clitoral stimulators. Because of its size and the noise it produces, this toy is not well-suited for travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

From her: The shaft of this toy has two side-by-side sets of arrows which control, respectively, the rotation of the shaft and the vibration in the clitoral stimulator, each with three levels of intensity. There is also a button between the arrows which will "pulse" the clitoral stimulator for an even more powerful vibration. I found the vibrations to be more than adequate, even without the "pulse" function, though the rotations were comparatively weak - it's also possible that the large size of the shaft makes it more difficult to feel them. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, and it's not too noisy for the amount of power it's putting out, but one major downside is that this toy eats through batteries very quickly. An investment in rechargeable batteries might make the monetary exchange worth it.

Care and Maintenance

From her: The TPE with which this toy is constructed makes it difficult to clean, but some diligent scrubbing with soap and water should work just fine. Always use a condom if you plan on sharing the toy, especially if it's being used anally. As for storage, the "sticky" quality of the TPE makes it a veritable magnet for hair and lint, so it's best to store this toy in a plastic bag of its own to prevent it becoming too dirty. Wrapping it in a paper towel before putting it in the bag makes it easier to get in and further ensures its cleanliness.

Packaging

From him: The toy itself came sealed in a small plastic bag, which kept dust off of it, but at the same time, it caused one of the butterfly's wings to be permanently creased, folded over. Not a huge loss in the least, mostly unnoticeable.

This plastic bag was then located inside a larger paperboard box, complete with pictures and instructions on it. Not subtle, so you'll have to find something else to transport it in, should you wish to travel with it.

Thanks for all the info in your review. I was surprised to find out the shaft wasn't powerful because it seems like such a good design.
