Calypso 2 is designed as a clitoral vibe but could be used just about anywhere on the body to provide stimulation - nipples, labia, penis, testicle, etc. As it does not have a flared base, anal insertion is not recommended, but external anal stimulation would be okay. Calypso 2 is great for solo time or playing with a partner. Calypso 2 is waterproof, making it a perfect toy for some shower or tub fun.

Calypso 2 is made of soft premium silicone in a periwinkle color (not as blue as in the picture) with a hard plastic controller contoured to fit comfortably in your hand. It has no smell or taste to it. The silicone of the bullet does have some drag to it, so adding a water-based lube may be helpful but not necessary. The bullet has some soft ripples in it, which I have found does add to the stimulation if placed in just the right spot.

I love the shape of the Calypso 2. It looks like a mix between a wave and a sperm (call me weird). The bullet is about 3 1/2 inches long. The size it perfect for pin-pointing the vibrations to exactly where you want them with the right amount of diffusion. The cord is about 23 inches, which is a perfect length for solo play, but may not provide couples with enough room for desired movement. On the other hand, it's not so long that it'll cause tangling issues. The controller is white with a blue border and a beautiful rose-like design in the same blue. As I mentioned before, the shape of the controller makes it very comfortable to hold.

The Calypso is powered by 2 AAA batteries. The vibrating bullet is located in the first inch or so of the "wave". The controller has two buttons - a power button and a vibrations button. The power button will turn the vibe one and off. When turned on, the buttons will glow red but there are no vibrations initially. Pressing the vibrations button (which has the little squiggle on it) will start the vibrations and scroll through them as follows:

1) Low steady vibration
2) Medium steady vibration
3) High steady vibration
4) Pulsation that gets faster and ends in a short burst of somewhat steady vibration
5) Medium pulsation
6) Fast pulsation
7) Three pulses followed by a steady vibration (like this ...___...___)

At any point the power button can be pressed to turn the vibe off, which is always nice. My one gripe about the Calypso 2 is that the buttons are so low-profile that sometimes they can be hard to locate (with my hands under the covers) and press. This is such a minor caveat, and it in no way has deterred me from using this toy.

The power of the vibrations varies from 3 to 4, and the volume is about a 2.

The Calypso's waterproof-ness has proven to be satisfactory. In using it in the shower and testing it submerged in the sink, no water has gotten into the battery compartment.

The Calypso 2 can be cleaned with hot water and soap, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution (which also sterilizes the bullet). Since it's waterproof, the toy can be submerged for cleaning (granted the battery compartment is closed tightly), however it should not be boiled or put in the dishwasher. It is easy to store but does attract some lint. Since Calypso 2 is made of silicone, only water-based lubes should be used with it.

The packaging was very minimal, which may be a deterrent to some. Calypso 2 comes in a white paperboard box with a picture of the toy and some water on the front. The sides and back have some information about the toy and boast "premium" silicone, 7 functions, and waterproof-ness. Inside, the toy was wrapped in a light foam bag which can be used for future storage. There are no directions and few care instructions. On the plus side, the box is recyclable or can be thrown in a fireplace. The box would be suitable for gift-giving, but does not make for a spectacular presentation.

I am very pleased with the Calypso 2. It's currently my go-to clitoral toy, and I don't see it being replaced any time soon. It's aesthetically beautiful and very stimulating, and I would honestly recommend this toy to anyone.
