Lighted shimmers glider - traditional vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Red Vinyl Kitty

This is the fourth toy I've ever owned which lit up, and this one honestly does it the most beautifully. The other toys I've had which lit up do so only in the tip. This toy is absolutely gorgeous lit up, and it works wonderfully as a textured vibrator aside from its lovely glow.


If you don't like texture, or, if you're looking for an anal vibe - you may want to keep on looking. This toy has curves and bumps all over it, and it just is not safe for the anal canal.

I never used to like texture, but I am beginning to enjoy it more and more. If you are new to texture this is a good toy to start with, because the smooth plastic has no sharp edges or discernable seams. The head of the toy is pronounced and smooth, and about an inch below it starts the bumps. The bumps are tiny, but provide lots of great stimulation.


The toy is made out of hard plastic, and has absolutely no give to it at all. Due to its slim size though, even beginners will not find this toy to be a challenge. There is no smell or taste from this vibrator.

This vibrator is a very modest size. It is only 1 1/4" in diameter at its widest point, near the base. The toy is 6" insertable, with 7 1/4" in overall length. While many people will find this toy to not be girthy enough to use internally, it also works wonderfully as a clitoral stimulator.

The LED Glider also runs on two AA batteries, which are not included. For running on only two AA batteries, I was surprised with how strong this toy was! It definitely is enough for me to get where I want to go, and then some.

This is a pretty traditional vibrator, with the biggest draw to it being its light up properties. I was surprised when I actually got the toy. The entire thing is see-through and you can see the motor, battery compartment, and everything through it. The vibe comes in two colors, pink and purple. I got the purple one, and the bluish light shines through it more brightly at the base, and weaker through the tip. The plastic material conducts the light beautifully and it just looks so cool! The light itself is weak, but gets stronger the higher up you turn the vibrations. The vibrations are operated by a simple turn dial on the bottom.


The LED Glider is a bit on the noisy side. You can definitely hear it through a closed door, lightly. I recommend putting the TV or radio on for background noise if you live with room mates.


The vibrations in the toy are located mainly in the tip, but can be felt weakly down near the base as well. The box that this comes with says that the toy is waterproof. I chose not to try to submerge it though because of the dial on the bottom. Most "waterproof" toys I submerge with a dial bottom simply are not waterproof. I did not want to ruin the toy, so I didn't even try.

Since the toy is plastic, it is pretty simple to take care of. You can use soap and water, a mild toy cleaner, or a 10 percent bleach solution. I found that I needed to take special care around the pleasure bumps on the toy, because they were a bit difficult to clean. Nothing crazy for sure, but they definitely required some extra scrubbing.


The toy is small and fits easily in a drawer or toy box. You can use any kind of lubricant you want with it.

The LED Glider comes in a simple cardboard box about twice the size of the toy. The toy itself is wrapped in a small plastic bag, and there's a very small piece of paper showing you how to get the battery compartment open. (Simple, just twist at the base). You could definitely use the box as a storage box if you want. It is small enough to not take up much space, however, I just threw this in my toy box with no problems. It is totally up to you.


The box is not very discreet at all. While it has no pictures of nude girls or anything of that nature - it does have a picture of the toy. Anyone who sees the box is definitely going to know what is inside.

I really like this toy. It is more than strong enough for me, which I often have a problem with. It seems that a lot of more expensive vibes have lower vibrations. I really like this toy though, and even though the girth isn't that amazing, the hard nature of the plastic coupled with the texture provide for a very satisfying experience. I do recommend it as a staple to anyone who needs a traditional vibrator.
