There is something about the look of this vibe that has caught my eye for so long that when it went on sale I knew I had to order it. When I first saw it I wondered if I had made a mistake because the little points on the face of the vibe looked kinda...mean. I was worried that my clit wouldn't forgive me!

The Lucid Curves No.21 is a short and stout little guy. He's body is made of hard plastic and the nubs on his 'face' are made of a softer plastic that is firm but has great give. The nubs carry the vibrations splendidly and make the vibrations easily felt even on the lowest settings. The dial, I found, was easy to manipulate even with lubed up fingers. It wasn't so easy that it got bumped during play and changed settings, however. The vibrations are fairly surface but the entire head of the toy carries the vibrations which makes it perfect if you like to slide your toy around for extra stimulation. You have a choice of a smooth gliding toy or the nubs which add enough stimulation that even when my clit is demanding jackhammer vibrations to get interested, I am able to easily orgasm. The dial is firm enough that it can allow you to move it up to higher vibrations very slowly making it very customizable. It is powered by 2 'N' type batteries which means it isn't a powerhouse but it still has a respectable amount of power. No. 21 doesn't suck down batteries like some of the other toys I own making it just an all around good vibe.

This isn't a vibrator that is easily inserted and I found the nubs to actually be slightly painful. It measures in at 4 3/4 circumference so this isn't a tiny toy. It fits in the hand easily and won't cause it to go numb or become fatigued. The total length of the toy is about 5 1/2 inches which means it will slip easily into a bedside table or sock drawer. The color is rich and vibrant and the contrasting color lends a bit of whimsy to what would otherwise be a pretty boring looking toy.

The Lucid No.21 is water proof and has an unusual battery casing. The toy unscrews at the mid point to reveal both the waterproofing O ring and the battery housing. The instructions for placing the batteries is printed in large font right on the lip of the housing making it very easy to place the batteries without having to retrieve a magnifying glass or squint! Screw the halves back together and you are ready to play. I didn't notice any water leaking onto the casing after full immersion washing or after using it in the tub.

This is a quiet toy that can be easily muffled with a blanket or pillow. I turned the toy on full blast and placed it on the mattress, when I walked outside the bedroom and closed the door it couldn't be heard even if I pressed my ear to the door. In the bathroom it is equally quiet.

The hard plastic of the toy makes it very simple to clean. Since plastic is non-porous a good warm water and mild soap wash should be sufficient to keep it clean. I found an old, clean toothbrush is perfect for cleaning the nubs and the seams around the nubby, dial and middle areas of the toy. Any lube is fine with this toy.

The No.21 works best as a clitoral stimulator and shouldn't be inserted anally. It's simply too short and has no features that would prevent it from being sucked in. It can work wonderfully for forced orgasm play, nipple stimulation, anal rim stimulation, penis (scrotum and taint) stimulation and even as a mild massager for sore feet or necks. It's not the most powerful massager out there but it does feel pretty darn good when the nubs are used, along with the vibrations, to stimulate the scalp.

Doc Johnson has made a concerted effort to replace their cheap packaging, with it's lurid depictions of half naked women in various sexualized poses, with simple and effective beautiful product showcasing. The Lucid Curves is fully protected by it's molded plastic tray and shown off in a beautifully designed clear plastic box which allows the buyer to get a really good look at the toy. The scroll work and eye catching information script gives the impression of quality without a huge price tag attached!

This has become a staple of our bedroom especially when we are interested in a relaxing night rather than erotic play. It works great as a scalp massager and is powerful enough to be used as a small area massager. It works lovely as a clitoral stimulator as well making this an all around great toy!
