I’d seen these advertised before and was curious as to how good they’d be, so when I was sent one for review, I was very excited and eagerly awaited my delivery!

When it arrived, I was immediately impressed. The Lily comes in a really lovely box which gives you a high perceived value, and that’s before you’ve even seen it! On opening the outer packaging, I encountered another sophisticated looking box to open, and finally, there it was. I immediately wanted to try it out and emptied everything out to find the toy, its charger, and even a little pouch to keep it in, which I thought was a really nice touch. The only downside was I realised that because it’s a rechargeable toy, I’d have to buy an adapter, so originally had to wait. This is worth bearing in mind if you live outside the US.

Once charged though, I was raring to go. I read through the instructions (definitely worth doing because although there are only two buttons, pressing them in different combinations does different things) and was impressed to see how many different settings there were, and in particular the fact that there’s a key-lock. No more worrying about it setting off accidentally when it’s not supposed to!

After experimenting both with and without lubricant, I was a little disappointed with the Lily. Although the vibrations are variable, and the top speed is powerful, I think because of the distribution of the vibrations, it failed to give me an orgasm. Don’t get me wrong, it was very pleasant and I enjoyed using it, but this is something I could see myself using all over mine or my partner’s body in sex play, rather than as a solo toy to make me climax. Some women would probably find the toy is more than enough to make them climax, so if you do find it relatively easy, don’t let my review put you off.

Overall I think this is a fantastic toy. Despite the fact it didn’t bring me to orgasm, it has so many other things going for it that I’m still giving it top marks. It looks fantastic, it’s rechargeable, the design means you can travel with it without; a) worrying people will know what it is if they see it, and b) it setting off accidentally in your bag. It’s also pretty quiet, even on the fastest setting. I love this toy and am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with it.
